Congratulations to Becky Buller, whose song “Camel Train” has received a nomination for the 2026 Gospel Music Association Dove Award for Bluegrass Recorded Song of the Year.
Written by Hans Vibbert and produced by Stephen Mougin, “Camel Train” features Ricky Skaggs on mandolin and harmony vocals, Sharon White on guitar and harmony vocals, and Cheryl White on bass, lead vocals, and harmony vocals. Buller, the first woman to win the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Fiddle Player of the Year award, sings lead vocals and plays banjo.

“‘Camel Train’ is the story of Rebekah and Isaac right out of Genesis,” says Buller. “My folks call this a ‘camp meeting’ song. They sang it at countless weddings in the 1970s and ’80s. If asked to sing it for a funeral, they would include the final verse. As a little kid, it enchanted me because it includes my name.”
Gospel music has always been an important part of Buller’s work as a songwriter, on her albums, and in live performances. “Camel Train” was released in September 2025 on Buller’s first album of covers, Songs That Sing Me, which was recently nominated for the 2026 IBMA Album of the Year award.
Buller is also nominated for this year’s IBMA Momentum Award for Mentor of the Year. Her recent duet with Greg Blake, “Love Found Me,” has received a Josie Award nomination.
Buller will release a new performance video for “Jellyman Kelly,” filmed during the album release show at The Station Inn in Nashville, on Thursday, August 6.
The Becky Buller Band will perform Friday, August 7, in West Chester, Pennsylvania, followed by an appearance at the Podunk Bluegrass Festival in Goshen, Connecticut, on August 8.

A celebrated musician, singer, and songwriter, Buller made history as the first artist to win in both instrumental and vocal categories at the 2016 IBMA Awards. She was also the first woman to win IBMA’s Fiddle Player of the Year award.
Since 2018, Buller has performed with the all-female supergroup The First Ladies of Bluegrass, which was recently recognized with its own exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame. She achieved a lifelong goal in 2021 when she made her Grand Ole Opry debut.
Her songs appear on Grammy-winning albums by Molly Tuttle, The Infamous Stringdusters, and The Travelin’ McCourys. Buller was inducted into the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame in 2023.
