Naya Records, in association with Flóki Studios, today announces “Words of Wisdom,” the newest single from the forthcoming album Higher Education. The track unites the mighty Naya Rockers with Trinidadian-born roots-reggae luminary Queen Omega for a stirring meditation on mindful speech and collective uplift. “Words of Wisdom” arrives on all digital platforms July 11 2025 (UPC 199350837715, ISRC QMBZ92511095).

Rooted in Rastafarian teaching and seasoned with gospel-inspired harmonies, the single showcases Queen Omega’s commanding vocals over Naya Rockers’ deep, analog-rich riddim, continuing the project’s mission of blending Jamaica’s foundational sounds with global voices. Producer-drummer Nathan Sabanayagam and co-producer/bassist Nate Edgar (The Nth Power, John Brown’s Body) recorded the session at Flóki Studio in Iceland and enlisted Grammy-winning engineer Stephen Stewart to mix at Bob Marley’s famed Tuff Gong facility in Kingston.

“Queen Omega embodies the same fearless spirit we heard in Sister Nancy, Clinton Fearon, and Ivan Neville on the earlier singles,” says Sabanayagam. “Her message of positive action felt like the perfect next chapter.”
The Album: Higher Education

Due later in 2025, Higher Education gathers pioneers and next-gen torch-bearers of Jamaican music alongside New Orleans R&B and third-wave ska innovators. The 10-piece Naya Rockers anchor every track, with contributions from:

    Ivan Neville – “Higher Education”

Clinton Fearon – “Come With Us”

Sister Nancy – “Teach The Youths”

Mike Love – “Long Way Down”

Angelo Moore (Fishbone) – “The Brotherhood”

    Hector Lewis – “Thanks”

Music with a Mission

A majority of the album’s proceeds—and 100 percent of Flóki Studios’ share—will fund youth music training at Kingston’s Alpha School of Music, the historic institution that launched legends from Don Drummond to Yellowman. “Alpha proves what happens when creativity meets community,” notes Flóki Studios Music Director Wade Koeman. “Every stream and vinyl spin of ‘Words of Wisdom’ will translate into new instruments, lessons, and opportunities for the next generation.”
