Early details of a major new festival experience that will take place just outside Florida's magnificent Lake Okeechobee have been announced. Slated for March 4^th - 6^th, 2016, Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival will be Florida's biggest ever camping festival, with an extraordinary multi-genre bill boasting more than 80 artists, bands, and DJs from around the globe performing across five diverse stages.

From the depths of the Bohemian mind comes a view of arguably the most historic musical event of all time, the Fare The Well shows. They travel to Chicago, where the original three shows were announced, and after much controversy surrounding tickets, without much hope of all getting into the shows. But as many Deadheads will tell you the best times they’ve ever had at a show have been in the lot. That was then, this is now and law enforcement along with the city of Chicago banned over night camping and swore to enforce.

Wilco’s dBpm Records will release a limited edition marbled green vinyl 7” of “Random Name Generator,” the first single from the band’s Star Wars album, on October 2. A live acoustic version of “Bull Black Nova,” recorded at the Solid Sound Festival in June, is featured on the flip side. The single’s cover art is a photograph of Kusan Kampanile’s Tower of Musical Bells. The playful 1950s bell-ringing instrument sits today in the Wilco Loft, the band’s Chicago recording studio.

In the wake of an awful set of circumstances, faced with the possibility of a non-existent fall music extravaganza, the fabulous folk of Deadhead Productions have again stepped up to the plate with their announcement of Hillberry 2: The Harvest Moon Festival.  Earlier this year we told you all about the 1^st Hillberry Music Festival that occurred this August on the Farm outside Eureka Springs, Arkansas… well party people, get ready to do it all over again!

As everyone is winding down from Lockn’, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on Labor Day Weekend in one of my favorite towns in the Midwest, Nashville. I had the opportunity to photograph Widespread Panic for my very first time at the beautiful Ascend Amphitheater for the second night of their two night run over Labor Day weekend. I have to say, that it is true, you should never miss a Sunday show. What a beautiful night to see some music!

I awoke Friday to the sounds of car horns honking at 6 o’clock sharp, as the initial Lockn’ Festival attendees were allowed entrance. We all understand the excitement and the urge to share it with the world, but stealing the rarest and most desirable of festival resources is just uncompassionate. A little rudeness will not keep me from “Feeling Alright.” Internal monologue starts, “And so Lockn’ begins. Get up@!
