The first official day of Pemberton Music Festival’s stacked three-day weekend went off with just a few hitches, but the chaotic atmosphere (much like the temperamental weather) did little to dampen the spirits of attendees. Despite the ups and downs of the weekend, you were hard-pressed to find a face that wasn’t smiling.

Jack Straw may have been from Wichita but the Grateful Dead only played there once and what a show it was! Whether the band knew they would only have one shot to show the "Doo-dah" city what they were all about, we just don't know but they sure did nail it. Dick's Picks producer Dick Latvala initially considered this one for release and with a single listen, you'll know why.

Kyle Cox recorded The Plan, The Mess with producer/drummer Mike Marsh (Avett Brothers, Dashboard Confessional) in Nashville, TN and although this is is his debut full length, he is no stranger to great song writing. He has been featured in American Songwriter Magazine five separate times, including being the only songwriter in the history of the magazine to have won the American Songwriter Lyrics contest twice.
