On Friday, August 1, the Colorado Rockies will transform Coors Field into a haven for Deadheads and baseball fans alike in celebration of Jerry Garcia’s birthday. First pitch against the Pittsburgh Pirates is slated for 6:10 p.m., but the festivities will stretch late into the evening thanks to a special ticket package that pairs two of America's great contributions to the universe, MLB & the Dead.

Each Grateful Dead Ticket Package—starting at $36 (fees included)—includes a seat for the Rockies-Pirates matchup, an exclusive Colorado Rockies-themed Grateful Dead T-shirt, and entry to a free postgame concert by Colorado tribute stalwarts, Shakedown Street. When the final out is recorded, the stage lights will blaze beyond left-center field and the familiar opening riff of “Shakedown Street” will invite the crowd to keep dancing under the summer sky.

“With this package, fans can honor Jerry’s birthday exactly the way he would have loved—surrounded by good friends, great music, and a whole lot of fun,” said a Rockies spokesperson. “We’re thrilled to fuse the timeless songs of the Grateful Dead with an unforgettable night of Rockies baseball.”

Quantities are limited, and demand is expected to be high; fans are encouraged to secure their Grateful Dead Ticket Package now at mlb.com/rockies/tickets/specials/themes/grateful-dead. T-shirt distribution details, including pickup times and locations inside the ballpark, will be emailed to purchasers one week prior to the game. Prices, locations, and availability are subject to change.
