The Band

After years of touring, The Weight Band has released a new album of original material, packaged for today’s vibrant Americana base and capturing The Band’s rich musical tradition. Released in February 2018, World Gone Mad is a Roots Rock masterpiece of the Woodstock sound.

The 14th Annual Last Waltz - Revisited will showcase members of Polytoxic together with 50+ musicians from across Colorado; this show has become an annual tradition, bringing the community together to kick-off the holiday season. The musicians will perform the music of The Band and will celebrate the 42nd Anniversary of The Band’s historical performance, The Last Waltz. To celebrate the last 14 years of our performance, we have added special guests and additional songs from years past as well.

The new Arrowhead Ranch is moving forward with a scheduled reopening for next year in 2019. The Ranch is on-target to become the newest Catskills go-to destination for fun, live music and outdoor recreation. The Ranch is located on the site of the original Arrowhead Ranch, a couple of miles off of Route 17 in Parksville, Sullivan County, New York. This thoroughfare has a ton of history.

Last Thanksgiving was the 40th anniversary of perhaps the most important concert event in rock ’n’ roll history.  The Last Waltz was promoter Bill Graham’s grandest achievement of his career. Pulling off an unprecedented pre-show Thanksgiving dinner for a couple thousand lucky attendees for what was said to be The Band’s final concert at the legendary Winterland Auditorium in San Francisco.

The opulent and ornate Orpheum Theater located in the original theater district of downtown Los Angeles played host to a very special concert, Thursday night April 13. The Last Waltz 40 Tour, billed as a celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Last Waltz concert by The Band, was originally meant to only be a one-time tribute concert in New Orleans.

Garth Hudson, one of two remaining original members of THE BAND and Taj Mahal the multi-GRAMMY AWARD®-winning blues singer-songwriter-composer have been added to remaining dates alongside Warren Haynes, Dr. John, Jamey Johnson and Don Was on the second leg of the 2017 “LAST WALTZ 40 TOUR.” Garth and Taj will be playing all dates listed below to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of The Band’s historical farewell concert.

Due to overwhelming demand on the first leg of The Last Waltz 40 Tour: A Celebration of the 40th Anniversary of The Last Waltz, Blackbird Presents is proud to announce additional tour dates beginning on March 30, 2017 at the Verizon Theatre in Dallas, Texas and running across multiple U.S. cities throughout the month of April. A full list of tour dates and venues is listed below. 

Garth Hudson, one of two remaining original members of THE BAND, will be joining the 2017 “LAST WALTZ 40 TOUR” for two special shows at The Palace Theatre in Albany, NY and MGM National Harbor in Washington, DC to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of The Band’s historical farewell concert.

Hudson, the iconic multi-instrumentalist has been credited by his band members and brothers Robbie, Levon, Rick, and Richard for being the resident musical genius of The Band and helped create their unmistakable sound.
