On Saturday, August 1, artists across genres and generations will celebrate the 78th birthday of the late Jerry Garcia. FANS will present a 12-hour free livestream featuring artists that have played Peter Shapiro's Dayglo Presents venues, including The Capitol Theatre, Brooklyn Bowl Williamsburg, Brooklyn Bowl Vegas, and LOCKN'.

Poolside is celebrating Jerry Garcia’s birthday this Saturday with a magical new version of the Grateful Dead’s classic “Shakedown Street,” available now at all DSPs and streaming services; the track is joined by an equally celebratory companion video, directed by filmmaker Bill Heffley and streaming now at the official Poolside YouTube channel.

KEEN, Inc. (KEEN), today announces a partnership with the Jerry Garcia Family, a new limited edition collection combining Jerry Garcia’s artwork with KEEN’s iconic Newport sandal and UNEEK sneaker sandal with a portion of sales going to HeadCount, a non-profit that uses the power of music to register voters and participate in democracy.

The Rex Foundation and The Jerry Garcia Family have announced that they will bring a cherished tradition to the virtual sphere for the first time with Daze Between. The inaugural livestream will feature nine days of exclusive musical performances and storytelling to celebrate the life and legacy of Jerry Garcia. The event marks 25 years since Garcia's passing and will run from August 1-9, 2020.

Sweet liberty! We're venturing into the depths of 80s Dead with the complete show from 4/20/84 at the Philadelphia Civic Center and we're placing bets you'll think this one is more than fine. A strong contender for our mega 30 TRIPS AROUND THE SUN boxed set, 4/20/84 missed the cut by virtue of its setlist being a wee bit too similar to the years before and after. As DAVE'S PICKS VOLUME 35, it's found its time to shine.

Billboard #1 charting reggae-rock band Roots of Creation has returned with their new music video "Casey Jones," an infectious revival of the Grateful Dead classic.

"Casey Jones" tells the tale of a locomotive engineer who became a folk hero after his death in a train crash in 1900. Filmed between the East and West Coasts, the video celebrates the 50th anniversary of the original Grateful Dead release and showcases iconic locations in NYC and Los Angeles.

Psychedelic roots rock outfit Sleepy Gaucho performed a live rendition of the Dead's “Friend of the Devil” for their recently released Hear Here Presents session. The band's mellow twang blends seamlessly with the classic Garcia/Hunter composition.

Molly Tuttle has released her cover of Grateful Dead’s “Standing On The Moon.” The new song, which features Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes on background vocals, is joined by a hypnotizing companion visual and will appear on Tuttle’s forthcoming record, … but i’d rather be with you, available everywhere Friday, August 28 via Compass Records.
