THE WILLIAMS BROTHERS were molded on the streets of Oakland, California during the seventies (the only "white boys" on Salisbury Street) listening to their parents vast blues & country vinyl collection, the funk that flowed out of boomboxes (pre hip-hop), and the psychedelic folk rock that blossomed in the East Bay Area during that time. So it was inevitable that the brothers followed their families lineage of song and dance men (Gr,Gr,Gr,Great Grandpa penned the traditional favorite, "Sweet Betsy from Pike" in mid 1800's.

I am a writer and performance poet living in New York City. I am also one of the editors of Black Lodge Press - a publishing house working to circulate authors who cross back and forth between poetry, prose and that which extends forward. On April 14, Georgia Tech played house to "Barbecue and Bluegrass", a two part event featuring an early evening meal of rib sticking barbeque followed by some good ol pickin from 3 very talented Bluegrass Bands: Peachtree Station; Hot Buttered Rum; and Cherryholmes.

Green Tea was formed in the fall of 2000 when a group of local musicians, artists & friends got together to jam. Since the inception Green Tea has been about songwriting, improvisation, musicianship & sharing that energy with a live audience. During the fall of 2005 the band recorded its first studio CD entitled "The Healing". That debut disc along with a slew of Gigs in the Northeast has pushed Green Tea out onto the Jamband scene.

Jeff Gauss is the guitarist and lead vocalist. Performing since 1980 with bands ranging from folk to blues to rock to pop to theatre.

The brother duo of guitarist Sean Ryan and keyboard ticklin brother Jody has revived what, to many, is a lost sound in bands today. The throw back to sixties rock has become their signature sound and the major reason Uncle Billy's Smokehouse has been gaining the attention and respect of music lovers far and wide.

Cozy would be an understatement.  The air was stifling on Saturday night in Eugene, OR's Jaqua Concert Hall at The John G. Shedd Institute for the Arts.  But the music was cool and refreshing.
