It's hard to imagine rock's greatest albums without their iconic covers, whose vivid imagery is so deeply ingrained in popular culture that they've become instantly recognizable to multiple generations of music fans. Now, some of classic rock's most beloved album covers are reborn with RedisCover Jigsaw Puzzles.

The exciting new series launches this week with eight jigsaw puzzles featuring the unforgettable cover art from eight of rock’s classic albums: David Bowie's The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, Jackson Browne's Late for the Sky, Johnny Cash's At Folsom Prison, Bob Dylan's The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan, the Grateful Dead's Aoxomoxoa, Jimi Hendrix's Axis Bold As Love, Nirvana's Nevermind and the Rolling Stones' Let It Bleed.

Every RedisCover title is a high-quality, double-sided, 300-piece 16" x 16" puzzle featuring the original front and back cover art from one of classic rock's most enduring vintage albums.  The cover artwork is also reflected in the puzzle’s attractive packaging, which contains illuminating “ArtiFacts” about the creation of its cover art, as well as background information about the making of the album.

RedisCover Jigsaw Puzzles, available now at Barnes and Noble, Urban Outfitters and other retail outlets (suggested retail price $21.95),  are the brainchild of music-industry veteran Debbie Gold, whose company Gold Standard Games has partnered with the world-renowned Imagination Games for the project.  Gold took her first step into the world of games and puzzles in 2009, as creator of the innovative Grateful Dead-Opoly.

The RedisCover Jigsaw Puzzles line has considerable personal resonance for Gold, who has worked extensively with a wide range of notable rock acts including Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and the Grateful Dead.  Gold used her industry connections to get clearances from the artists, photographers and designers involved in creating the albums’ cover art. She also took care to meticulously reproduce their original designs and color schemes, and to have the puzzles completely manufactured and printed in the United States.

"This is some of the best 20th-century visual art we have, but it has become a lost art with the rise of CDs and downloads," Gold notes. "If you think about your favorite records from the days of vinyl, it's a visual memory as well as an aural one. We used to spend hours pouring over album covers, front and back. Those of us who grew up with these records have a real emotional attachment to this art, and at the same time, there's a resurgence of interest from a new generation of kids who are embracing classic rock in a big way. With RedisCover, we feel privileged to help bring these images back into the culture."

Or, as Rolling Stone contributing editor David Browne writes in the RedisCover packaging, "For a generation that came of age with rock & roll, the covers of the era's classic albums were part of the experience. Now, thanks to RedisCover Jigsaw Puzzles, the iconic album jackets of rock's greatest eras spring back to life, one tantalizing piece at a time."

After nearly 10 years, Robert Hunter, the legendary lyricist of the Grateful Dead, is returning to the public stage for a rare eight-city concert tour. Hunter joined the Grateful Dead in the fall of 1967, when he arrived at a rehearsal just in time to write the first verse of the band's classic "Dark Star." Though he'd never play onstage, it was Hunter's work that would elevate their songs from ditties to rich, complete stories set to song.Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994, Hunter’s lyrics are part of the American musical DNA. His credits include “Uncle John’s Band,” “Cumberland Blues,” “Casey Jones,” “Friend of the Devil,” “Sugar Magnolia,” “China Cat Sunflower,” and “St. Stephen.” In fact, it was Hunter who penned their most popular lyric, “What a long, strange trip it’s been,” in the song “Truckin.’”While best known for his musical partnership with Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead, Robert Hunter has also collaborated with Bob Dylan (“Silvio” “Duquesne Whistle”), Bruce Hornsby, Jim Lauderdale, Little Feat, David Nelson (of the New Riders of the Purple Sage), and Mickey Hart.  Hunter has performed live off-and-on throughout his career, presenting his own unique slant on songs that are engraved on his audience’s minds.

It’s almost here - two weeks until JOHN BUTLER TRIO returns to North America for a quickly selling concert tour and the release of FLESH & BLOOD, its first studio album in four years February 4 on Vanguard Records.

FLESH & BLOOD'S first single "Only One" released earlier this month and became the #1 Most Added track at Triple A radio.    Watch the just-released acoustic live performance video of “Only One”  and  "Livin’ in the City” recently on Rollingstone.com.

JOHN BUTLER TRIO'S sixth studio album is the follow up to the internationally acclaimed 2010 release April Uprising, which debuted at #36 on the Billboard Top 200 and yielded a #1 single in Australia with “One-Way Road. ” Prior to that, the band garnered a #1 U.S. Triple A single with “Better Than” from GRAND NATIONAL. Butler’s song “Ocean” has received over 6 million YouTube views.

FLESH & BLOOD, recorded  at John Butler’s studio ‘The Compound’ in Fremantle Australia, offers  crisp and beautifully spare production that accentuates Butler’s exceptional guitar work and pop craftsmanship. Blending elements of folk, funk, reggae and rock, counterpointed at times with hip hop beats and off-center grooves, his voice soars with both melancholy and purity.

Australia's most successful independent artist, Butler has been featured on the cover of Rolling Stone. In North America, they’ve performed to sold out audiences at Red Rocks, Nashville’s Ryman and New York Central Park Summerstage  as well as festivals such as New Orleans Jazz Fest, Bonnaroo, Lollapolooza, and where USA Today said “John Butler revealed himself to be arguably the finest guitarist at Coachella Festival.”

These initial North American dates have JBT visiting some of their favorite rooms beginning with an underplay on February 3rd in New York City (Bowery Ballroom) through February 24 in San Diego, CA. (Tour dates listed below).  The tour will introduce new band member, Grant Gerathy, who has taken over the role as the new JBT drummer replacing Nicky Bomba who has left the group to front his own Melbourne Ska Orchestra.

Tedeschi Trucks Band, the Grammy Award-winning blues rock tour de force, continues its Beacon Theatre tradition with a return to one of the Big Apple’s most venerated stages for a fifth consecutive year, appearing four nights - Friday, September 25, Saturday, September 26, Friday, October 2 and Saturday, October 3 at 8:00pm.

"We look forward to the Beacon every year - it's like a second home for us,” says guitarist Derek Trucks. “There's something about playing on that stage that makes you raise your game."

A tradition since 2011, the 11-piece powerhouse has invited special friends to open both weekends, with this year’s selected artists among America’s finest R&B, roots, and blues performers including Los Lobos (9/25) and Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires (9/26).  The opening guest for October 2 will be announced soon, while the final night, October 3, will feature a very special two set evening with Tedeschi Trucks Band.

Tickets go on sale to the public Thursday, May 21 at 10:00am and for the first time, the band has arranged a limited number of “TTB Beacon Balcony Bargain” tickets at the back of the balcony each night with all fees included for $29.50 All other tickets are priced at $49.50, $83.50 and $125, plus applicable fees.  Tickets are available via Ticketmaster.com, BeaconTheatre.com and by calling 866-858-0008.

The return to the Beacon adds to the band’s growing reputation of delivering one-of-a kind, unforgettable performances in New York City, following its most recent area appearance- kicking off the 30th year of Central Park’s SummerStage concert series Monday, May 18.  Led by Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, the seasoned ensemble has captured the admiration of both concert audiences and critics worldwide. Rolling Stone described their New Orleans JazzFest set last month as a masterful binding of spiritual-blues prowess.” With guitarist Derek Trucks’ 15 year tenure with The Allman Brothers Band wrapped up, the band has fully dedicated itself to expanding its legendary live performances with an increasing repertoire of soulful neo-classics includingnew material the band has been working on for their next album.

Formed in 2010 with a spirit of adventure that saw Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks shelve their equally successful solo careers, Tedeschi Trucks Band debuted big with its Grammy Award-winning Revelator, 2012’s dynamic live follow up, Everybody’s Talkin’, and most recently 2013’s Made Up Mind bolstering the Jacksonville-based group’s growing reputation as the preeminent blues-rock leader. Driven by Trucks, #16 of the top 100 Guitarists of All Time (Rolling Stone), and Tedeschi, blessed with a voice that passionately delivers a range of powerful R&B belters to gentle ballads, the group enlists two drummers, two vocalists, a three-piece horn section, bass, and a multi-instrumentalist keyboard player for what is a greater-than-the-sum-of-its-parts collective.

For over 40 years, Los Lobos has remained an American roots rock treasure, bringing blues, soul, rock-and-roll, and Tex-Mex genres together in a blend that has both sold millions of records and garnered multiple Grammy awards. Equally adept acoustically or as an electrified unit, the quintet out of East L.A. has been an innovative musical force and a champion of traditional musical forms from cumbias and Mexican folk standards to rock classics like “La Bamba.”

In just four years, funk/soul/R&B singer Charles Bradley has led a remarkable against-all-odds rise as a triumphant Daptone/Dunham Records recording artist.  With a captivating style reminiscent of James Brown and Otis Redding, Bradley’s music celebrates the vintage sound of 1960s and ‘70s funk and soul. His story, from life on the streets to soldier in Vietnam to celebrated soul singer, is the subject of the critically-hailed 2012 documentary, Soul of America.

Metropolitan Entertainment today announces the return of Tedeschi Trucks Band to the Beacon Theatre for the seventh consecutive year.  Continuing their tradition of multiple-night residencies at the famed New York City venue, Tedeschi Trucks Band lines up another half-dozen electrifying performances scheduled for October.

This year's slate of six shows will once again feature a selection of exceptional openers - The Wood Brothers, North Mississippi Allstars, Greyhounds - and select weekend nights will spotlight two full sets without support.  Of particular note is Wednesday, October 11, “TTB & Friends” as it will mark the group’s 25th show at the Beacon, a milestone the band is looking forward to celebrating with North Mississippi Allstars opening the show and special guests to join TTB for this momentous night.

The 12-piece ensemble led by “two of the best roots rock musicians of their generation,” (NPR) husband and wife duo, Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, has made the Beacon Theatre an annual stop since 2011.

Derek Trucks was a part of an impressive streak of Beacon residencies as a member of the Allman Brothers Band.  Now, Tedeschi Trucks Band has proven itself to be the rightful heir to that legacy, as the Grammy Award-winning group delivers its own one-of-a-kind, unforgettable performances in the Big Apple. Over the past six years, the ensemble has debuted new material from its growing repertoire, thrilled fans nightly with ever-changing setlists, hosted a variety of opening acts and welcomed a diversity of special guests including Taj Mahal, Dickie Betts, Leon Russell, Rosanne Cash, Jimmie Vaughan, Jerry Douglas, Dave Mason, and Jon Batiste for some remarkable onstage collaborations.

Handpicked by Tedeschi Trucks Band, opening the run will be Austin, Texas group Greyhounds, bringing their bluesy, groove-heavy Americana rock.  On nights three and four of the residency, TTB welcomes longtime friends The Wood Brothers (October 10) and North Mississippi Allstars (October 11). Dubbed “masters of soulful folk” by Paste Magazine, The Wood Brothers appearance will come fresh on the heels of touring this summer with Tedeschi Trucks Band on their 20-city 'Wheels of Soul' 2017 dates. North Mississippi Allstars, the award-winning Southern blues and roots rock guardians are 'Wheels of Soul' vets, themselves, having delivered countless magical moments with TTB on last summer’s tour.  Both promise to renew their incendiary collaborations onstage at the Beacon.

The Beacon announcement follows Tedeschi Trucks Band’s recent release of Live from the Fox Oakland, the 2017 CD/DVD that beautifully captures the group’s incredible power in concert. It’s the band’s first-ever concert DVD, displaying on film “that exemplary live interplay…” (Rolling Stone) and “the impact of the Tedeschi Trucks Band firing on all cylinders in their natural habitat.” (American Songwriter).  The album is the latest in a discography that includes their Grammy Award-winning debut Revelator (2011), and 2016’s Let Me Get By, called by the Associated Press “one of the great records of the year”.

From their steady rise as solo artists, now to one of music’s most prominent partnerships, Tedeschi and Trucks have climbed to new peaks, both together and individually.  From appearances at the White House to tributes for B.B. King, Bob Dylan and Hubert Sumlin, or guesting on albums by John Prine, Rosanne Cash, and Eric Church, the duo is constantly in-demand.  Most recently, the pair shared the stage with Jackson Browne, Aaron Neville and Billy Gibbons this past March at the Love Rocks NYC! benefit concert.

In conjunction with the start of American Craft Beer Week (May 15-21), CRAFT FOR CAUSES, the non-profit bringing the booming craft brew industry together with live music to support charitable causes, today announced its first full-scale, national initiative. While Tedeschi Trucks Band rolls its Wheels of Soul Tour into 20 cities across America this summer, CRAFT FOR CAUSES will be uniting 41 of the nation’s craft beer makers along the tour route to create special brews with proceeds benefiting Mr. Holland’s Opus, a charity that works to promote and preserve music education nationwide.

In the month preceding each date on the Wheels of Soul Tour, select local brewers in every market will feature a limited-edition beer in their tap rooms specifically themed for TTB’s annual summer run.  As part of their participation, each brewery will assist in fundraising and contribute to the charitable efforts of the tour, with the goal of providing musical instruments for underprivileged youth in every host city.

CRAFT FOR CAUSES founder John Nichols is thrilled to spotlight this potential lasting philanthropic alliance between the band, brewers, and their community.  “We’re excited to announce this during American Craft Beer Week,” said Nichols. “I wanted to create something where everybody wins, and we will leave behind, literally, a trail of musical instruments for children in these cities.”

Modeled after the PGA’s similar event/host charity partnerships, Nichols hatched the idea during last year’s Wheels of Soul tour, inspired by tour-themed concoctions from Marble Brewery in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This year’s unique collaboration aims to raise $100,000 for Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation (MHOF), a charity Tedeschi Trucks Band has supported in different ways over the years. The national non-profit organization donates high-quality musical instruments to deserving, under-funded music programs in schools across the country.

This third annual edition of Wheels of Soul will feature the Grammy-winning rock-and-soul powerhouse Tedeschi Trucks Band, joined by guests The Wood Brothers and Hot Tuna.

With eight wildly successful shows in the books and 13 more to go, the 2017 incarnation of Tedeschi Trucks Band’s third annual multi-artist “Wheels of Soul” tour is shaping up to be their biggest and best yet. Along with supporting acts Hot Tuna and The Wood Brothers, TTB’s 2017 “Wheels of Soul” run has already brought out fans all along the east coast in unprecedented numbers. Breaking personal attendance records, the tour sold more than 7,200 tickets at both Saratoga Performing Arts Center and Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center. Remaining dates are following suit with sold out shows in Atlanta (7/15) and Salt Lake City (8/1) as well as the 1st night (July 29) at the iconic Red Rocks Amphiteatre, with the 2nd night (July 30) rapidly heading in the same direction.  The tour continues through August 2 in Montana.

In honor of Tedeschi Trucks Band’s first two-night stand at Red Rocks, the band has invited special friends to help celebrate the big weekend. John Medeski will sit in with TTB on Saturday, July 29 and John Bell partners with the group on Sunday, July 30.

According to TTB’s dynamo guitarist/lead vocalist Susan Tedeschi, "It's been great to develop this tour into an annual event where we get a chance to hit the road and share the stage with fellow musicians we love and respect. Each year we try to find bands that share our musical vision while bringing their own unique talents to this traveling circus.” Derek Trucks, Tedeschi’s husband, co-bandleader, and fearlessly talented lead guitarist, adds, "Every year as the tour rolls along, the collaborations between all the musicians grow and grow. It inspires and challenges us in new ways and I think that really translates to the audience when they see how much fun we're having with our friends."

The collaborative fun is already in full swing, as members of both Hot Tuna and The Wood Brothers have joined the well-oiled powerhouse on several occasions, adding fresh sonic flavor to blues standards like “Key To The Highway” and “Sky Is Crying,” classic rock and roll favorites like Bob Dylan & The Band’s “You Ain’t Going Nowhere” and The Rolling Stones’ “Sweet Virginia.”

While The Wood Brothers and Hot Tuna collaborations have served as memorable highlights, the indomitable 12-piece ensemble have remained the high-powered engine that keeps the wheels turning. As the Providence Journal raves, “Watching Trucks attack the frets was absolutely amazing at times” and “Tedeschi’s voice…was a wonderful blend of rasp and power…The depth of the band is part of its magic.” TTB fields a veritable all-star team of world-class musicians on a nightly basis, including bassist Tim Lefebvre, dual drummers Tyler Greenwell and J.J. Johnson, vocalists Mike Mattison, Mark Rivers, and Alecia Chakour, and a three-piece horn section comprised of Kebbi Williams (Saxophone), Ephraim Owens (Trumpet), Elizabeth Lea (Trombone). Tedeschi Trucks Band’s 2017 “Wheels of Soul” lineup also features understudy Carey Frank on keys, who is gradually proving his mettle as he fills in for regular keyboardist Kofi Burbridge while he recovers from recent heart surgery. Together, this one-of-a-kind musical collective is consistently turning in wildly creative, eclectic, and stunningly powerful performances every time they take the stage.

After 21 fantastic nights of music across 16 different states, Tedeschi Trucks Band have completed their triumphant 3rd annual “Wheels of Soul” tour.  With support from “masters of soulful folk” The Wood Brothers and “psychedelic-blues institution” Hot Tuna, the 2017 iteration of the popular multi-band tour proved to be “a champion of the summer concert season” (Cincinnati.com) and TTB’s most successful “Wheels of Soul” voyage to date. Husband-and-wife bandleaders master slide guitarist Derek Trucks and powerhouse guitar/lead vocalist Susan Tedeschi and their well-oiled 12-piece outfit broke their own attendance records, selling out 10 of the shows on the tour, including two nights at Denver’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

The summer run further cemented the “Wheels of Soul” tour’s reputation as a unique and unmatched collaborative musical experience.  The band performed more than 70 different songs and peppered their shows with well chosen covers and a slew of guest sit-ins including The Rolling Stones’ “Sweet Virginia” and Paul McCartney & Wings’ “Let Me Roll It”  with The Wood Brothers and Elmore James’ “The Sky Is Crying” and Jefferson Airplane’s “3/5 Of A Mile In 10 Seconds” with Hot Tuna.

The collaborations came to a peak at Red Rocks, which Live for Live Music referred to as “a complete show of mastery.” In addition to The Wood Brothers and Hot Tuna, Tedeschi Trucks Band was joined by John Medeski of Medeski Martin & Wood and John Bell of Widespread Panic. You can check out never-before-seen pro-shot footage of collaborations from the two-night Red Rocks run below:

This summer’s “Wheels of Soul” tour also held a unique emotional significance for the band due the many legendary musical friends who passed away recently. The list includes Derek’s uncle Butch Trucks and Gregg Allman (both of whom Derek played with for 15 years in the Allman Brothers Band), Leon Russell and “grandfather of the jam scene” Col. Bruce Hampton. The band paid tribute over the summer, breaking out Allman live staples like “Whipping Post,” “Ain’t Wastin’ No More Time,” and “Statesboro Blues.” They also dedicated a cover of Bobby Blue Bland’s “Don’t Cry No More” to Col. Bruce during their performance at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre, where Hampton gave his now-legendary final performance.

“Performing is healing, for everyone on stage,” explains Trucks, “It’s important to get out and play; there is definitely something cathartic about it. You can feel it in the audience, too. People like Bruce and Butch and Gregg, they meant a lot to a lot of people. When you acknowledge those things and play music in the right spirit, you are keeping the flame lit in your own way.”

“Wheels of Soul” 2017 also was successful all summer in its charitable efforts and has raised nearly $100,000 as part of a unique initiative with the tour’s partner Craft for Causes.  Local craft brewers created a limited edition “Wheels of Soul”-themed beer in their taprooms for each tour stop, with the proceeds benefiting the Mr. Hollands Opus Foundation, a national nonprofit that works to promote music education and provide musical instruments to underprivileged youths. 40 different breweries hosted launch parties for their special brew, sporting clever names like “Butch’s Brown Ale,” “All That I Need,” and “Harmonious.” The Crafts for Causes van followed behind the tour buses throughout the run, driving 14,500 miles and covering 42 states, visiting 39 different breweries along the way.

Tedeschi Trucks Band will now take a brief break from the road before heading back out for their Fall Tour beginning on September 15th in Birmingham, AL.  It will take the band to New Orleans and Texas before their annual six-night residency at the Beacon Theatre, which will include their milestone 25th performance at the storied Manhattan venue on Wednesday, October 11th.  The band will wrap up the year with a string of 2-night performances along the West Coast and a 3-night stand in Susan’s native Boston. Tedeschi Trucks Band is also currently working on material for their next studio album, the follow-up to their acclaimed 2016 studio release, Let Me Get By.
Mon, 01/08/2018 - 11:14 am

Tedeschi Trucks Band is pleased to announce the fourth installment of their annual multi-band Wheels of Soul summer tour. Unrivaled in their blend of American soul, blues, rock and country, the 12-member Tedeschi Trucks Band, led by the husband and wife team of guitarist Derek Trucks and vocalist/guitarist Susan Tedeschi, offers a one-of-a-kind musical experience.  This year, the Wheels of Soul tour will feature two highly acclaimed special guests Drive-By Truckers and opener The Marcus King Band. The five-week tour will kick off in the southeast in late June and wrap up with two nights at Red Rocks in Colorado July 28 and July 29. (See itinerary below)

Tickets will be available for fan pre-sale starting Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 10am local time.  The public on-sale for most cities is Friday, January 12, 2018. Visit www.tedeschitrucksband.com for further ticketing details.

Growing larger and more successful each year, the Wheels of Soul tour has established itself as a unique and can’t miss concert experience. Hailed by audiences and critics as “a champion of the summer concert season” (Cincinnati.com) and “a musically pure and soulful night of music” (Atlanta Journal Constitution), the annual summer series is loved for its incredible musicianship, stage collaborations, and unpredictable set lists. During last summer’s tour - which brought Tedeschi Trucks Band together with The Wood Brothers and Hot Tuna - TTB performed more than 70 different songs and broke its own attendance records, selling out the majority of the dates. Previous Wheels of Soul bills have included Los Lobos/North Mississippi Allstars (2016) and Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings/Doyle Bramhall II (2015).

Trucks and Tedeschi are looking forward to the unique southern flavor that Drive-By Truckers and The Marcus King Band will bring to this year’s tour. “We all draw from some of the same roots,” says Trucks. “But we also share a different perspective than your typical southern rock bands do. I have a lot of respect and admiration for the Truckers’ songwriting. It’s an honest take on the world we live in.”  In King, Trucks is reminded of his early days as a talented guitar player plugging away on the road. “It’s been fun getting to know Marcus and watching him develop. He sat in with us at the Beacon and it will be great to have a chance to collaborate more on stage over the summer”. Trucks and King also collaborated on The Marcus King Band’s self-titled 2016 release, for which Trucks recorded on “Self-Hatred.”

The excitement over hitting the road is mutual.  “An amazing band and great folks. It’s going to be a blast,” says Patterson Hood from Drive-By Truckers. From King: "Two years ago I saw Doyle Bramhall II, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings and TTB in Charlotte, NC. I felt the electricity of the show through every part of me and said, we need to be part of this tour. It's a blessing to be part of the energy this year."

Now in their ninth year, Tedeschi Trucks Band carries a distinguished reputation as one of the premier live bands performing today. They are a "major force in American music" raved Austin American Statesman, with “unassailable musicianship across the board.” Embracing improvisation over convention, the genre-defying collective has seemingly endless potential to explore any musical territory - from their own catalog of Grammy Award-winning originals to Sly & the Family Stone, Miles Davis, George Jones, Joe Cocker, or Nina Simone. Trucks’ masterful guitar skills and Tedeschi’s soaring vocals and bluesy guitar shine but don’t overpower the breadth of talent on stage, a testament to the genuine respect within TTB’s ranks.

The band’s latest release, Live From The Fox Oakland debuted at #1 and #6 on Billboard’s Blues and Rock Album charts, respectively, and was just nominated for Best Contemporary Blues Album GRAMMY Award. “A scintillating performance that captured this world-class band at the top of their game.” (Popmatters) Tedeschi Trucks Band is currently working on material for their next studio album and fans can expect to hear them road testing some of the new tunes over the summer run.  They recently warmed up the sound board to mix a live version of Neil Young’s “Alabama,” which they performed on the last leg of their fall tour and released as a single. Drive-By Truckers are a southern American rock band, hard edged and finely honed, all backed by sonic ambition and social conscience. Founded in 1996 by singer/songwriter/guitarists Mike Cooley and Patterson Hood, the band continues their outspoken craft with its critically-acclaimed American Band, the most provocative album in their extraordinary canon. They followed with a 7” live version of the track “What It Means” as well as a new song, “The Perilous Night,” which they have been playing live to the delight of fans around the country.

Having spent the last year playing ever-larger venues and festivals to a burgeoning fan base, The Marcus King Band performs a fiery brand of American Roots that led the Philadelphia Inquirer to proclaim, “Marcus King is about to become a Southern rock guitar superstar.”  In 2017, the band released the Due North EP, the follow up to their 2016 self-titled LP that captured the energy of the band's amazing live show and the talent of a rising young singer songwriter reaching well beyond his years. The band made their network TV debut last year on CBS This Morning Saturday, and King made the cover of Guitar Player as one of "10 Young Players Spreading the Gospel of Kick-Ass Guitar.”

With six shows in October, Tedeschi Trucks Band announces an eighth consecutive year of their annual musical bash at New York City’s Beacon Theatre: October 5, 6, 9, 10, 12, 13.  The show run includes two weekends of “Evening with TTB” two-set performances and a pair of mid-week dates that will feature special opening guests (to be announced).  Oct. 9th will also mark the 30th time the incredibly talented 12-member ensemble, led by husband-wife duo Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, take the stage at the iconic venue.

Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, May 4 at Noon ET (view details below). For pre-sale ticket information, visit www.tedeschitrucksband.com.

The autumn residency at the Beacon has become a highly anticipated tradition for TTB’s growing legion of fans, as both NYC area residents and travelers from far and wide mark their calendar to catch several shows each year. While legacy artists such as the Allman Brothers Band and Steely Dan made the Beacon their home for multi-night residencies, Tedeschi Trucks Band represents the next generation and the only contemporary band supporting a six-show run at the theater multiple years running.

TTB back in NYC in the fall

“The room sounds great and feels like home”, says Trucks. “It’s one of the best spots to really turn the band loose. Everybody comes locked and loaded.”  Multiple nights also offer fans an extensive live immersion with this genre-defying force that is celebrated for its ever-changing set lists, original song debuts and ability to explore almost any musical territory.  “With six shows, we throw the net a little wider, dig deeper into our catalogue and work up new arrangements; it’s a different show every night”.

Appearances with a wide variety of acclaimed musical guests are a frequent highlight for TTB’s Beacon shows. Last year featured sit-ins with Trey Anastasio, Nels Cline and Norah Jones, and prior memorable collaborations – including Jerry Douglas, Taj Mahal, Leon Russell and Rosanne Cash among many others – are a testament to the respect and musical camaraderie that TTB has among its peers in the industry.  Trucks adds “There’s been a lot of memorable moments with our friends joining us on stage, and there are also nights we intentionally choose to play without guests so we’re able to focus our energy as a band and really stretch out.”

Prior to the Beacon run, the group has a busy spring on the road, a debut appearance at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, and a summer reprise of their Wheels of Soul Tour, now in its fourth installment.  “A champion of the summer concert season” (Cincinnati.com), Tedeschi Trucks Band again headlines and curates the five-week amphitheater tour, with this year’s special guests Drive-By Truckers and The Marcus King Band.

Formed in 2010, Tedeschi Trucks Band carries a distinguished reputation as one of the premier live bands touring today.  Critics around the world have praised the collective for their world-class performances. “Downright spiritual,” says No Depression.  A “major force in American music,” with “unassailable musicianship across the board,” raves the Austin American Statesman.  New York Times columnists also gave spontaneous praise on social media after seeing TTB live at the Beacon in 2017:  “…honestly, one of the best shows I've ever seen." (Sopan Deb); “Ok, that was amazing.” (Paul Krugman).

John Butler Trio returns to North America with a brand new live set-up for a five-week run of headline dates and festivals in support of their upcoming studio album, due for release this autumn.  Revered for their brilliant live performances and superb musicianship, the John Butler Trio is one of Australia’s most successful bands of the current era on the world stage.

For 2018, the Australian roots rockers have expanded their trio to a five-piece, billed as “John Butler Trio + .”  With additional percussion and keyboards, the expanded group recently completed a fall tour of Australia and New Zealand, culminating in a headline performance at the revered Byron Bay Bluesfest. Showcasing a bigger and more dynamic live show, the quintet offered glimpses of the upcoming album as well as reinventing classics such as “Betterman,” “Zebra,” and “What You Want.”

“This was a masterclass in musicality and an inspirational piece of soul-shine,” gushed the New Zealand Herald.  “Slap percussion groove, sliding, bending – stunning.  'Tis a rare thing when a front man's vocals are as accomplished as his guitar gift.”

JBT’s upcoming studio album, the follow-up to 2014’s award-winning Flesh and Blood, is a highly personal creation with songs reflecting thoughts on family, travel, home and global issues. “This album has been a rite of pajohssage that I couldn’t go around, couldn’t go over, couldn’t go under but had to go through,” says Butler. “We have worked really hard making those songs be the best they can be live and for them to have a relationship with the audience, take a journey and hopefully give people the chills.”

In August 2017, JBT released “Bully,” a single that was inspired by the many current political and environmental injustices around the world.

“ ’Bully’ is about the abuse of power,” Butler says.  “This song is about good people all over the world, who believe in a fair, just and sustainable future, who are willing to stand together to protect what is most precious to them.”

As Derek Trucks celebrates his 39th birthday today, Tedeschi Trucks Band is thrilled to announce two very special opening guests during the band’s six-night residency at New York City’s Beacon Theatre.  Renowned singer-songwriters Steve Earle and JJ Grey will both deliver solo sets during the mid-week appearances of the band’s eighth annual musical bash in the Big Apple; Earle on 10/9 and Grey on 10/10, respectively.  The Oct. 9th show will also mark the 30th time the incredibly talented 12-member rock and soul powerhouse, led by husband-wife duo Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, take the stage at the iconic venue.

Tickets for the residency have been selling quickly.  Limited tickets are available for October 9 and 10.  Currently, both Friday and Saturday nights October 5, 6, 12, & 13 are sold out.

One of the most acclaimed singer-songwriters of his generation, Steve Earle is a three-time Grammy Award recipient and has released twenty albums including his 2017 “So You Wannabe an Outlaw.”  His songs have been heard in more than 50 films and have been recorded by such music legends as Johnny Cash, Emmylou Harris, Carl Perkins, Waylon Jennings, and Joan Baez.  Always musically adventurous, Earle’s equally respected as a folk troubadour, a rockabilly raver, a contemplative bluesman, a honky-tonk rounder, a snarling rocker and even a bluegrass practitioner.  www.steveearle.com

As the dynamic frontman of his band, Mofro, JJ Grey is well-known for his rattlesnake rhythm-and-soul. His latest album, Ol’ Glory, features a guest appearance from fellow Jacksonville Florida native Derek Trucks on guitar.  Grey also spends time as a member of the Southern Soul Assembly with Marc Broussard, Anders Osborne, and Luther Dickinson.  NYC audiences are in for a treat as Grey’s rare solo sets always display his entertaining narratives and rich, eclectic blend of southern-inspired songwriting. www.jjgrey.com

For a ninth consecutive year, Tedeschi Trucks Band continues their tradition of a multiple-night residency at New York City’s Beacon Theatre, with a half-dozen electrifying performances scheduled for September 27th and 28th, and October 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th.

The band’s tenure at the iconic venue has encapsulated 30+ shows, drawing fans from all over the country, and remains as unique as the city that plays host.  The multi-night stay offers the talented 12-member ensemble an opportunity to explore an especially large range of musical territory - often exceeding 100 different songs across the six nights. Guest sit-ins have also made the Beacon shows special, with surprise appearances in recent years by Norah Jones, Trey Anastasio, Nels Cline, Leon Russell and Ravi Coltrane, among others.

Celebrating their 10th year as a group, TTB is currently touring in support of their fourth studio album, Signs, released in February to widespread praise and nominated for an Americana Music Award; (Rolling Stone called it “electrifying,” the Associated Press dubbed it “an inspirational album for the times,” and NPR Music declared it an “instant classic.”) The collection is notable for much of its songwriting informed by the loss of loved ones and mentors such as Gregg Allman, Butch Trucks, Leon Russell and Col. Bruce Hampton; the latter to whom the record is dedicated.

The band recently wrapped their headlining cross-country “Wheels of Soul” summer tour with this year’s special guests Blackberry Smoke and Shovels & Rope. Additionally, the group undertook a pair of historic performances, including a Bethel, NY appearance on the 50th anniversary weekend of Woodstock, as well as re-creating Derek and the Dominos’ legendary album, Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs, with Trey Anastasio for their headlining stop at the Lockn’ Music Festival. (Video)  With increased demand from an “incredibly dedicated fanbase hanging on each night's unique setlist” (Forbes), previous residencies in Boston, Chicago, Nashville, and Washington D.C. have sold-out.

Led by guitarist Derek Trucks’ stinging fretwork and Susan Tedeschi’s naturally stunning, emotive vocals and six-string talents, Tedeschi Trucks Band carries a distinguished reputation as one of the premier live bands performing today.  The talented collective continues to expand musical boundaries in ways that only a rare caliber of musical collective can achieve, delivering commanding performances and exceptionally intuitive group chemistry.  From uplifting soulful anthems to bittersweet ballads and driving rock and roll - all hallmarks of their can’t-miss-concert experiences - Tedeschi Trucks Band connects with a sound and a message that taps tradition while extending the edges of American music with a genre-defying conviction all their own.

Tedeschi Trucks Band’s Wheels of Soul tour – a standout of the summer concert season – is returning next year with two performers who exemplify the best of the modern soul movement.  Wheels of Soul 2020 welcomes St. Paul and The Broken Bones, as well as TTB’s own talented keyboardist Gabe Dixon and his trio, to the sixth annual amphitheater run.  Kicking-off June 26th in TTB’s hometown of Jacksonville, Florida, the five-week tour will visit more than 20 cities across the country, concluding with two nights at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre on July 31st and August 1st.  Wheels of Soul will be a highlight of TTB’s 2020 itinerary, as the GRAMMY-winning group plans to reduce their touring load after 200+ days on the road each year.

The majority of dates go on sale Friday, December 13, 2019.  Visit www.tedeschitrucksband.com for ticket details.

Led by the husband and wife team of guitarist Derek Trucks and vocalist/guitarist Susan Tedeschi, the 12-member strong Tedeschi Trucks Band is acclaimed by critics and fans alike for their uncompromising commitment to bringing the highest level of musicianship to the stage.  TTB has meticulously curated their flagship multi-band summer tour with the same focus on putting together not just a spectacular triple bill, but a true musical collaboration among the three bands to create a unique and unparalleled evening of music.  Past guests have included Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Los Lobos, The Wood Brothers and The Marcus King Band among several others and earned the tour a reputation as “nothing short of exhilarating,” (Salon) and “nonstop excellence, virtuosity and musical community on all fronts.” (Chicago Blues Guide).

“We’ve talked about having St. Paul and The Broken Bones out with us before – their sound is fantastic and certainly a natural fit for Wheels of Soul.  And we enjoy the fun of touring and collaborating with another big band,” says Derek Trucks. “Adding Gabe to the bill was a no brainer. He’s insanely talented and it will be a privilege to be able to showcase what he can do.”

Paul Janeway of St. Paul and The Broken Bones says:  "It’s an honor to open for such talented and kind people. I hope they enjoy having us as much as we enjoy getting to see their show every night."

In what has become a tour tradition, fans can expect 2020’s installment of Wheels of Soul to deliver onstage guest sit-ins and unpredictable set lists with a large catalog of songs covering a wide range of musical tastes.  Gabe Dixon will pull double duty, taking the stage first with his trio, then joining his TTB bandmates to close out the evening.

Last year TTB performed over 65 songs during the summer trek, drawing on all four of its studio albums, including new fan favorites “I’m Gonna Be There” and “Shame,” from the 2019 releases Signs, and companion EP, High and Mighty.  Fans were also treated to surprising debuts like Elton John’s “Border Song,” Leon Russell’s “Stranger in a Strange Land,” and rarities like The Band’s “Don’t Do It”.

One of contemporary music’s most respected bands, Tedeschi Trucks Band is unrivaled in their blend of American soul, blues, country and rock.  Now celebrating 10 years together, the ensemble’s commanding performances and exceptional musical chemistry are perpetual hallmarks of the can’t-miss-concert experience fans have come to anticipate live.  Simply stated by the Houston Press, “The band seamlessly showcases the genuine transformative power of music.”

Formed in 2012, St. Paul and The Broken Bones has spent the last seven years touring the world, receiving critical acclaim for stirring and dynamic live performances. The Birmingham, Alabama-based rock ‘n’ roll/soul band has opened for The Rolling Stones, headlined two nights at Ryman Auditorium, appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Conan, Austin City Limits and twice on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and has issued an EP alongside three full-length albums, Half the City (2014) Sea of Noise (2016) and Young Sick Camellia (2018).  Led by the insightful lyrics and vocals of their electrifying frontman Paul Janeway, St. Paul and The Broken Bones possess the unique ability to make you dance and shout while simultaneously making you think.

Ace Entertainment, a Philadelphia-area multi-media music content production company, has announced the release of its first-in-series music tribute documentary: “Lest We Forget: Kofi Burbridge.” The 32-minute film focuses on the life, music and influence of the late Kofi Burbridge - an American musician of extraordinary talent who passed away February 15, 2019 from heart complications.  It will be available for streaming at www.LestWeForgetMusicians.com on Friday, May 1, 2020.

Watch the official Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKfE3Q_shc4

Burbridge was a classically-trained two-time Grammy Award-winning multi-instrumentalist who provided keyboards, organ, flute and backing vocals for various bands throughout his career; but is perhaps best known for his 22+ years of musical association with guitar master Derek Trucks. The film includes rare in-studio performance footage, along with numerous warm and candid interviews from fellow musicians DEREK TRUCKS, SUSAN TEDESCHI, VICTOR WOOTEN, JIMMY HERRING, OTEIL BURBRIDGE, TIM LEFEBVRE, ADAM NITTI, NIGEL HALL, ADAM "SHMEEANS" SMIRNOFF, ROY VOGT and REGI WOOTEN.

"We're thrilled to introduce this new documentary series to music fans around the world," says Ace Entertainment President Tom Emmi. "Having Kofi be our first honoree means a lot to me personally. He touched and inspired so many throughout his career, including me."

"You don’t meet many geniuses in your life, and you really don’t get a chance to share a huge chunk of your life with them…It was a hell of a gift,” notes Derek Trucks, Kofi’s longtime bandmate in The Derek Trucks Band and Tedeschi Trucks Band.  “He just made everything better and everything cool.”

“Kofi had such an open mind,” says his brother, Oteil Burbridge, “such an incredible imagination. He was always my teacher - and he was always so far ahead of me. They figured out he had perfect pitch when he was seven years old.”

A portion of all proceeds from the streaming of this and future documentaries will go to support efforts from various charities dear to those being honored. "This is an important part our effort," adds Emmi. "It's a meaningful way to add to the legacy for each of these musicians." Proceeds from “Lest We Forget: Kofi Burbridge” will be donated to the Kofi Burbridge Music Matters Fund in partnership with Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation. This 501(c)3 foundation helps to keep music alive in schools by providing brand-new musical instruments to under-funded music programs nationwide.

“Lest We Forget: Kofi Burbridge” is an extension of Ace Entertainment’s “Lest We Forget” effort – a series of short video specials, now in its 4th year, that honor important musicians and music industry icons  - from all genres - who dedicated so much of their lives to push music forward. Lest We Forget is a not-for-profit program. All the producers, musicians, cameramen, editors and studios have donated their time and skills in the production of these programs. Emmi concludes, "It’s a total labor of love for everyone involved.”

October usually marks a highlight of Tedeschi Trucks Band's schedule with their annual residency at the Beacon Theatre in New York City.  As the global pandemic has forced the rescheduling of the band's touring plans for the foreseeable future - including what would have been their 10th year at the historic venue - TTB is offering a pay-per-view re-broadcast of the final two nights from last year's celebrated run.  With special thanks to MSG Entertainment and the Beacon Theatre, fans missing the fall tradition can enjoy the sold-out October 4th and 5th, 2019 concerts from a front row seat at home.  Previously unreleased full-show audio downloads from both nights will also be available for purchase.

The re-broadcasts will air on Thursday, October 22nd and 29th at 8pm EST and remain available for viewing for 72 hours. Tickets and full-show audio download bundles are available for purchase at Stellartickets.com (https://www.stellartickets.com/events/tedeschi-trucks-band/tedeschi-trucks-band-from-the-beacon-theatre-2019). Audio downloads will also be available after the shows air through Nugs.net.

Fans may recognize these memorable concerts as they were streamed earlier this year on TTB’s weekly Swamp Family TV to raise funds for charity. This time around, the broadcast and download purchases will go directly to support TTB musicians, crew and their families during this challenging period, with a portion of proceeds donated to Sweet Relief Musicians Fund to help additional music professionals in dire need of assistance with stages dark across the country.

Since 2011, Tedeschi Trucks Band has played nine consecutive years and 39 concerts at the Beacon Theatre with over 100,000 tickets sold. The multi-night residency draws fans from all over the country to experience these special shows where the band digs deep into their extended repertoire and frequently welcomes special guests onto the stage.

The 12-member-strong collective, led by Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi, carries a distinguished reputation as one of the premier live bands to see for their outstanding musicianship. TTB's unique, genre-defying sound encompasses the best of American roots traditions - blending driving rock and roll with soul, blues, jazz and even gospel. They are also known as one of the hardest working groups around, often on the road for over 200 days a year, and look forward to being able to return to doing what they love. The band currently has no shows scheduled before the summer of 2021’s Wheels of Soul Tour.

Tedeschi Trucks Band has reached the midpoint of its six-episode series, Fireside Sessions- the Grammy-winning group’s newly-filmed, up-close and personal home performances hosted by Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi.  Only three new installments of these very special appearances remain: Episode 4 is slated for Thursday, March 11 at 8 pm EST at nugs.net.  All previous episodes of the highly successful series are available on-demand, with a full six-night subscription.

FIRESIDE SESSIONS ONLY THREE NEW EPISODES REMAIN

TTB’s return to live performances has made these Fireside Sessions must-see Thursday night viewing, showcasing various configurations of the ensemble from an intimate vantage point most fans could never otherwise experience. The series opener featured the group as a quartet- with Derek and Susan joined by TTB’s bassist Brandon Boone and drummer Tyler Greenwell for a dozen-song set that included potent renditions of “Statesboro Blues,” “That Did It,” “Angel from Montgomery,” and a fiery finale of “I Want More” that morphed into “Soul Sacrifice.” Episode two saw the addition of TTB members Gabe Dixon on keys and vocals along with Mike Mattison on vocals and guitar as the sextet delivered a sizzling full set with three sparkling debuts; a new original, “Here My Dear,” and a pair of covers: Leonard Cohen’s “Suzanne,” and Paul Pena’s “Gonna Move.”

The third installment, perhaps the most affecting so far, stripped the lineup back to a dynamic duo, with just Derek and Susan.  From their home studio the pair played a variety of acoustic and electric guitars, offered detailed song introductions- including a heartful remembrance of Kofi Burbridge, the band’s late multi-instrumentalist, during “Strengthen What Remains”- and provided viewers, once again with the unique atmosphere of a “living room” performance. The two also revived their rendition of the Rolling Stones’ “You Got the Silver,” last played in 2014, as well as another new entry, “Smiling On Me,” co-written with Oliver Wood.  For the final three episodes, fans can expect more surprises, including song debuts and visits from additional band members, sitting in for these rare, up-close and intimate sessions.

In a recent interview with the Jacksonville Times Union, Trucks said, "It was fun exploring these tunes in a different light.” He added “we were surprised at how some of the songs worked” and “it was quite a relief to get back. It’s one thing to sit home and play and it's another thing to get back into the action.” Trucks also expressed gratitude to fans for stepping up with donations to the band and crew.

Each episode was captured in stunning 4K detail by 7Cinematics, an award-winning crew of concert filmmakers, with audio recorded, mixed and mastered by TTB’s engineer Bobby Tis. Audio from each session is available, as well, in an mp3 bundle or separately for purchase in all additional formats. After each initial 8pm broadcast, episodes are also available for on-demand viewing for a 48-hour period. Ticket and bundle information can be found here:  2nu.gs/TTB

The past year has been a challenge for so many, and musicians and crew members are no exception.  Beyond purchasing the Fireside Sessions, fans can also donate at givebutter.com/TTB.

In 2020, Tedeschi Trucks Band raised over $100,000 to benefit charities including Music Health Alliance, NAACP, Sweet Relief, Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation, Feeding America and World Central Kitchen via their free Swamp Family TV webcast series.

Mon, 04/05/2021 - 10:03 am

Due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding safe venue capacities and local regulations for the coming months, Tedeschi Trucks Band's 2021 Wheels of Soul tour is being postponed until the summer of 2022. The legendary Los Lobos, longtime TTB friends and collaborators, and veterans of 2016’s Wheels of Soul will replace St. Paul and the Broken Bones for the 2022 summer amphitheater run. TTB’s talented keyboardist Gabe Dixon and his trio will round out the three-band bill next year as originally planned.

Current Wheels of Soul tickets will be honored for rescheduled 2022 shows. Fans who are unable to attend rescheduled shows should contact point of purchase for refund options.

Please note the following special circumstances:
>Cincinnati, OH (July 11) Please hold tickets and stand by for additional information.
 >Vienna, VA (July 21 + 22) Ticket holders will be refunded and receive priority access to upcoming pre-sale for the new date: July 19, 2022
>Harrington, DE (July 27) Ticket holders will be automatically refunded after April 15, 2021.
>Red Rocks (July 30 + 31) Please hold tickets and stand by for additional information.

"We are extremely disappointed at having to postpone Wheels of Soul again," says Derek Trucks.  “We’re all missing the energy of live music - and there's nothing like playing these large, outdoor shows alongside bands we admire. We were really hoping to get back on stage and dive into some fun big band collaborations with St. Paul, but unfortunately, with all the uncertainty, it just couldn't work this year.”

In the meantime, until venues open fully and with consideration for the safety of their fans and crew, the group is organizing some socially-distanced, limited capacity shows for this summer.  The band plans to make an announcement about these special performances in the coming weeks.

Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi announce Fireside LIVE - a special series of socially distanced, limited-capacity performances this summer. They will be joined by varying members of Tedeschi Trucks Band each night with the total band configuration ranging between four and seven musicians depending on the show.  The modified lineup will perform under the name ‘Tedeschi Trucks’ for the first time as a nod to their band members who are unable to join the tour because of the challenging conditions with the current pandemic.

Fireside LIVE was inspired by their very successful at-home online performance series from earlier this year, the Fireside Sessions.  The shows will be the first fully live public performances for the ensemble since February 2020, and come on the heels of the recent postponement of their annual summer Wheels of Soul Tour to next year (2022).  Venues will include a mix of small or reduced-capacity outdoor amphitheaters, drive-ins and pod set-ups, all of which are covid-19 compliant and taking precautions to ensure the safety of fans, staff, band and crew.

Fireside LIVE will kick off in Jacksonville, FL with a two-night run on June 11/12 then hit cities across the south and northeast through the months of June and July.  Tickets for all shows, except Red Rocks, will go on sale to the general public Friday, April 23 at 10am ET.

“We're really looking forward to getting on the road and seeing everybody's beautiful faces," said Susan.  "Getting together earlier this year to record the Fireside Sessions was really re-energizing, and we are excited to play live in front of fans again. As much as we love performing as the full Tedeschi Trucks Band, current conditions just don’t allow for us to do that.”

The decision as to which members will join for each show will be decided week to week, depending on local conditions at the time.

Fireside LIVE brings to the stage the same intimate window into the band's creative chemistry that was on display during the Fireside Sessions, which streamed back in Feb-March on nugs.net.  Packed with deep cuts, reimagined songs, and several premieres of rare covers and new original songs that the band has been working on during the break, the six-episode streaming series was enthusiastically received for delivering something new and unique each week.

For fans who missed the original broadcasts or want to watch it again, TTB and nugs.net will offer a rebroadcast of all six Fireside Sessions.  Fans who originally purchased the 6-episode bundle will be able to view the shows for free. Details on the broadcasting schedule for the encore presentation of the Fireside Sessions will be announced shortly.

Tedeschi Trucks Band returns to the Beacon Theatre in New York City for their annual multiple-night residency. Proudly proclaiming, “We’re Back,” these will feature the full, reunited 12-piece band including new drummer Isaac Eady. Concerts take place on September 30, October 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, and 9.

The 10th anniversary residency will feature support acts Nels Cline: Consentrik Quartet on September 30, Anders Osborne on October 5 and Jorma Kaukonen on October 6.  All other shows will feature two full sets by Tedeschi Trucks Band.

Since their first performance at The Beacon in 2011, Tedeschi Trucks Band has played 39 shows at the legendary theatre.  A highlight of the TTB touring schedule, fans look forward to the Beacon residency for the opportunity it gives the multi-talented group to explore an especially large range of musical territory, often exceeding 100 different songs across the run with few repeats. Guest sit-ins and surprise appearances in recent years by Norah Jones, Jerry Douglas, Jon Batiste, and Ravi Coltrane have also made the Beacon shows special.

TTB's return to the Beacon marks a true homecoming for the full band following an unprecedented 18 months of uncertainty for live music.  With touring still on hold in early 2021, Derek and Susan launched Fireside Sessions, an intimate at-home livestream performance series whose proceeds helped to support band and crew.  Joined by a select number of band members (Mike Mattison, Tyler Greenwell, Brandon Boone, Gabe Dixon, Mark Rivers and Kebbi Williams), the Fireside Sessions re-energized fans and inspired the band to bring the scaled-down TTB line-up on the road as Fireside LIVE - a series of socially distant, limited-capacity shows throughout the summer.  The sold-out dates were the first fully live public performances for the group since February 2020 though not with the entire ensemble.

In July 2021, the band released Layla Revisited (Live At LOCKN'), a 2CD/3LP live recording of their performance of the classic Derek and the Dominos album Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs at the 2019 LOCKN’ Festival with Trey Anastasio and longtime TTB collaborator, guitarist Doyle Bramhall II. The “transfixing” (Stereogum) musicianship of the “now-legendary set” (Relix) propelled the album to hit the top of the Billboard charts including #1 Blues Albums, #2 Americana/Folk Albums, #4 Current Rock Albums, and #47 on the Billboard Top 200.

This Beacon residency coincides with the just-announced release of a new documentary, Learning To Live Together: The Return of Mad Dogs & Englishmen.  The feature film chronicles the reunion of remaining band members from Joe Cocker’s iconic 1970 tour (after 45 years) when they performed with Tedeschi Trucks Band at LOCKN' festival in 2015.  Learning To Live Together world premieres at the Woodstock Film Festival on September 30th, prior to the debut theatrical release on October 22nd in NYC.  Visit MadDogsDoc.com for more info and future theatrical release details. Watch film trailer here.

The pandemic has also given TTB ample time to write new material. They are currently in the process of recording their next studio album, which they expect to release sometime in 2022. In addition, Derek and Susan also used their time off the road to guest on albums by Oliver Wood, Doyle Bramhall ll, Gabe Dixon, Ryan Shaw, Neal Francis, and will both appear on the upcoming Neal Casal project Highway Butterfly.

Tedeschi Trucks Band is Susan Tedeschi (guitar, vocals), Derek Trucks (guitar), Gabe Dixon (keyboards, vocals), Brandon Boone (bass), Tyler “Falcon” Greenwell (drums) Isaac Eady (drums), Mike Mattison (vocals), Mark Rivers (harmony vocals), Alecia Chakour (harmony vocals), Kebbi Williams (saxophone), Ephraim Owens (trumpet) and Elizabeth Lea (trombone).

Following a very challenging yet creative year, Tedeschi Trucks Band announces the first batch of their 2022 winter itinerary with a series of multiple-night residencies in Washington D.C. (6), Nashville, TN (4), Chicago, IL (4) and a two night engagement in New Orleans, LA (see dates below).  Led by renowned guitarist Derek Trucks and singer/guitarist Susan Tedeschi, these will feature the full, reunited 12-piece band including new drummer Isaac Eady.

Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, October 29 at 10am local time.  Visit TedeschiTrucksBand.com/Tour for pre-sale information and more details.

A highlight of the Tedeschi Trucks Band touring schedule, fans look forward to these residencies and multi-night engagements for the opportunity it gives the multi-talented group to explore an especially large range of musical territory.  Earlier this month, they delivered a spectacular seven-night sold-out run at New York’s Beacon Theatre which saw the full group joyously back together to perform nearly 100 different songs, numerous debuts, a rare acoustic set and were joined onstage by surprise special guests Chris Robinson, Warren Haynes and Marcus King.

TTB's recent return to the road with the full band follows an unprecedented 18 months of uncertainty for live music. While off the road due to the pandemic, Tedeschi and Trucks launched the Fireside Sessions, a successful livestream series that featured a scaled-down lineup and unique renditions of their classic repertoire. Over the summer they took the concept on the road as Fireside Live – a series of socially-distant limited-capacity shows - drawing sold-out crowds across the U.S.

In July 2021, the band released Layla Revisited (Live At LOCKN') featuring Trey Anastasio, a 2CD/3LP live recording of their performance of the classic Derek and the Dominos album Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs at the 2019 LOCKN’ Festival.

Tedeschi Trucks Band is also the subject of a newly-released documentary, Learning To Live Together: The Return of Mad Dogs & Englishmen, which Variety hails as “a serious blast of rock 'n' roll love… and a testament to how one gorgeously raucous rock ‘n’ roll moment can reverberate through the decades.” The film chronicles the historic Mad Dogs reunion concert spearheaded by Tedeschi and Trucks that took place at 2015's LOCKN' festival. Visit MadDogsDoc.com for theatrical release dates and more information.  Watch film trailer here.

In the midst of the rare time off, TTB convened in the studio to write and record a wealth of new songs for a future studio album. As the recording progresses towards an expected release in 2022, the album is growing into a unique and exciting conceptual project. In addition, Derek and Susan also used their time off to guest on albums by Oliver Wood, Doyle Bramhall ll, Gabe Dixon, Ryan Shaw, Neal Francis, and both appear on the upcoming Neal Casal project Highway Butterfly.

Tedeschi Trucks Band is Susan Tedeschi (guitar, vocals), Derek Trucks (guitar), Gabe Dixon (keyboards, vocals), Brandon Boone (bass), Tyler “Falcon” Greenwell (drums) Isaac Eady (drums), Mike Mattison (vocals), Mark Rivers (harmony vocals), Alecia Chakour (harmony vocals), Kebbi Williams (saxophone), Ephraim Owens (trumpet) and Elizabeth Lea (trombone).

Following the recent announcement of their ambitious new 4-album studio and film project, I Am The Moon, Tedeschi Trucks Band has unveiled the dates for their highly-anticipated annual return to New York’s Beacon Theatre this fall.  The 12-piece, rock and soul collective led by singer-guitarist Susan Tedeschi and guitarist Derek Trucks will play seven nights in New York City - September 29 & 30; October 1, 3, 6, 7, and 8. The 2022 Beacon Theatre shows mark the group’s 11th multi-night Beacon run, and will include their 50th show at the famed theatre on October 3.  Tedeschi Trucks Band’s annual tenure in the Big Apple is a destination event - featuring surprise sit-ins, special guests, and set lists that go deep in the band's catalog – and has become a can't-miss concert experience.

Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, May 13 at 11AM ET via Ticketmaster. Swamp Family Fan Club Member presale access will begin Wednesday, May 11 at NOON ET.  Visit www.TedeschTrucksBand.com/tour for all details.

“The Beacon is always a place for us to stretch out and explore musical territory,” says Derek Trucks. “We have an incredible amount of new material coming out this year with I Am The Moon and the Beacon shows will be some of the first where we'll be able to draw from all of it and have the space to really dig in."

The 2022 residency will feature support from Amy Helm on Thursday, September 29 and Ruthie Foster on Thursday, October 6.  Monday, October 3 will mark the group’s 50th show at The Beacon and is sure to be a memorable evening.  Friday and Saturday nights will feature two sets of Tedeschi Trucks Band.   This year will also be one of the few opportunities in the U.S. to catch the band live after all four albums of I Am The Moon are released.

Susan Tedeschi adds, "I Am The Moon is a creative milestone for us - and we've got our 50th show at The Beacon, another milestone. We're looking forward to celebrating both and all the hard work that went into getting here - it's not something that just happens."

Operatic in scope, and epic in scale, I Am The Moon is the most ambitious studio project of Tedeschi Trucks Band’s storied career - comprised of four albums and four companion films to be released throughout the summer. Inspired by a mythic Persian tale of star-crossed lovers, and emotionally driven by the isolation and disconnection of the pandemic era, the thematic I Am The Moon totals more than two hours of music unfolding across a robust tapestry of genre-defying explorations that propel the treasured American ensemble into new and thrilling creative territory. Watch the project trailer HERE.

The four albums that comprise I Am The Moon — I. Crescent, II. Ascension, III. The Fall, and IV. Farewell — will be released in successive months beginning with I. Crescent.  The corresponding films which combine studio and performance footage with atmospheric photography and imagery will debut three days prior to each audio release offering fans an early opportunity to digest each album in its entirety via the band’s YouTube channel.  The first film debuts Tuesday, May 31 followed by the first album release available digitally and on CD, Friday, June 3. All vinyl configurations, including the 4-LP I Am The Moon Deluxe Box, will be available on September 9. For more album information, please visit www.TedeschiTrucksBand.com/i-am-the-moon.

Tonight, Tedeschi Trucks Band — the GRAMMY-winning 12-piece rock and soul group headed by Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi — will premiere I Am The Moon: Episode II. Ascension, the second of their epic, four-part album series, I Am The Moon. Fans can stream the album length companion visual from filmmaker Alix Lambert on the band's YouTube Channel, beginning tonight at 9:00PM ET / 6:00PM PT, ahead of its digital and CD release this Friday, July 1, 2022.

In his illuminating bio notes, celebrated music journalist David Fricke explains, “Ascension – the second record in I Am The Moon is rightly named. From the opening Memphis-soul churn of "Playing With My Emotion,” to the country-church stomp "So Long Savior" and the exhilarating slide-guitar climax "Hold That Line," Ascension continues the unique fusion of ancient narrative and highly personal reflection in I Am The Moon with the urge to soar that is second nature to the best rock & roll big band in America."

Released June 3rd, I Am The Moon: Episode I. Crescent — the highly-anticipated project’s first release — has been called “one of the strongest pieces of music they’ve ever done” by Rolling Stone, who go on to marvel at the album’s ambitious scope by asking, “Who even dares to do anything like this anymore?” A 4-star MOJO review praises Derek’s guitar playing on “Pasaquan,” Crescent’s instrumental climax, as “stinging, dextrous, raga-blues brilliance,” while AllMusic deems it “dazzling in concept and execution.” (Kicking off their annual Wheels of Soul tour last Friday in Jacksonville, Florida, TTB thrilled the home-town crowd mid-set playing Crescent in its entirety for the first time ever. In this thrilling new and creative chapter for TTB, the four albums that comprise I Am The Moon — I. Crescent, II. Ascension, III. The Fall, and IV. Farewell — will be released in successive months. On Thursday, December 8th, The Smithsonian Institution presented the James Smithson Bicentennial Medal to Susan Tedeschi during a special ceremony at the National Museum of American History in Washington DC.  Medals were also presented to Dave Grohl, Gloria and Emilio Estefan.

Tedeschi received the award for “her embodiment of the American Experience through music; for imbuing the American soundtrack with songs that transcend from grief to joy; for staying true to her art form and for using her voice to share stories of hope in advocating for a better world.”

In her remarks upon accepting the medal, Tedeschi acknowledged many of her influences and mentors.

“It’s such an incredible honor to be given the James Smithson Bicentennial Medal and be part of this community.  Don’t let people tell you that you can’t do what your dreams are because you can.   I started playing guitar just to prove the point that women can play guitar.  Thank you to all the teachers like my great-aunt Josephine Sabino, an opera singer. She taught me to how to breathe properly and Dennis Montgomery III from the Reverence Gospel Ensemble at Berklee School of Music for giving me the belief that music does transcend color and race."

"Thank you to my band, my family, and to my musician friends that I’ve played with over the years- thank you so much for your contributions to music.  To Willie Nelson and B.B. King for taking me under their wing and giving me the opportunities that they did.  And Buddy Guy and Toots Hibbert from Toots & the Maytals for letting me record with them and live my dreams.  To all the people that you learn from that become a part of you and your sound - everyone from Mahalia Jackson to Aretha Franklin to Linda Ronstadt.  And to the Allman Brothers Band for inviting me to tour with them and where I met my husband.  That changed my life.”

The James Smithson Bicentennial Medal was established in 1965 in honor of the 200th anniversary of Smithson’s birth. It is presented under the Secretary of the Smithsonian’s authority to persons who have made distinguished contributions to the advancement of areas of interest to the Institution. The awards are part of the spotlight the museum is placing on music, theater, film, television and sports as it opens its first long-term exhibition focused on entertainment history, "Entertainment Nation" / "Nación del espectáculo."

Susan Tedeschi is a GRAMMY-winning singer-guitarist and songwriter whose career as a solo artist and co-leader of Tedeschi Trucks Band has established her as one of the significant roots rock musicians of her generation. A Boston native, Tedeschi emerged on the national scene in the late ‘90s when her breakthrough album, Just Won’t Burn (whose 25th anniversary will be celebrated in 2023) achieved gold status and she received a Best New Artist GRAMMY nomination. She has been an active bandleader, performer and recording artist ever since, releasing 18 albums in 22 years including the most recent, Tedeschi Trucks Band’s acclaimed 4-album epic, I Am The Moon, and sharing the stage with dozens of blues and rock icons including B.B. King, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson and Eric Clapton. Tedeschi will continue to tour throughout the US and internationally next year with Tedeschi Trucks Band.
