North Carolina-raised, Grammy Award-winning, and multi-platinum hip-hop artist J. Cole is proud to announce that Dreamville Festival will return next spring while expanding to two days on Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3, 2022. Tickets go on sale this coming Friday, October 1 at 10:00 a.m. ET at www.DreamvilleFest.com.

As one of the most popular and largest artist-curated music festivals in the country, fans can look forward to a weekend celebration curated by Cole himself where he invites some of his favorite artists and collaborators to perform in his home state of North Carolina. Stay tuned as the 2022 music lineup will be revealed soon.

The festival will bring together local residents and travelers from across the globe to gather together and enjoy incredible music performances while at the historic Dorothea Dix Park, Raleigh’s largest city park.  Having grown up in nearby Fayetteville, Cole and his Dreamville team hope to once again shine a light on the special place that has helped to shape him into the successful and creative artist he is today.

“It’s exciting to finally be back. Ever since we wrapped our first fest, we’ve been waiting to get back to the park with our Dreamville family," said Dreamville Partner and Festival President, Adam Roy. “We had to come back bigger and better than before. With the fest moving to two days, Dreamville Festival is about to become the festival our team has always dreamt about. We want this to grow into one of the premier annual music experiences in the country.”

Two-day GA and VIP passes will be available for purchase beginning at 10:00 a.m. ET this Friday, October 1 on www.DreamvilleFest.com. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets quickly once available as the previous festival event sold out in advance and prices will increase as the event dates draw near.

A special ticket pre-sale will also be available for fans starting at 10:00 a.m. ET on Tuesday, September 28. In order to take advantage of this special early-bird access, fans must first sign-up for the official Dreamville Festival newsletter at www.DreamvilleFest.com.

As safety is the number one priority for festival organizers, Dreamville Festival is implementing new entry rules to help keep patrons, artists, and staff safe. In order to gain entry to the event, the festival will require proof of COVID-19 vaccinations or negative COVID-19 test results that are obtained within 72 hours of attending the event. More information on the new safety guidelines and entry rules can be found online at www.DreamvilleFest.com.

LIMITED TICKET SALE

To commemorate the lineup news, the festival has also released today a limited number of two-day GA tickets to the 2021 event, which are on sale now at AstroworldFest.com. Prices begin at $349.99, although fans are encouraged to purchase immediately as ticket supply is extremely limited.

During the general ticket on-sale last spring, the entire weekend event sold out in under one hour without a music performance lineup attached. Scott’s festival has sold out in advance of the lineup reveal every year since inception, although 2021 set the record for the fastest sell-out yet.

FAN EXPERIENCE

Continuing a nod to the NRG’s previous tenant (Six Flags AstroWorld), the festival has again invested significant real estate to build out an amusement park and carnival footprint for the 2021 event.  This year’s fest will feature more than 30 custom carnival games and rides, including a roller coaster, Ferris wheel, and bumper cars - all of which are designed to entertain fans when they need a break from music.

Fans participating in the carnival games will have the opportunity to win one of 100+ different custom Astroworld prizes, which include limited-edition items that won’t be available anywhere else.

Participating carnival sponsors Raising Cane’s, Nike’s Jordan, and the Houston Astros have all kicked in grand prizes as well. These special prizes include the opportunity to eat free Cane’s for a year, score a pair of limited-edition Jordans, or win tickets to a future baseball game.

EVENT BACKGROUND

Over 100,000 fans from across the globe are slated to attend the third-year music festival, which returns to Scott's hometown of Houston. The 2021 event features an expanded two-day format on Friday, November 5 and Saturday, November 6 due to overwhelming demand from fans.

With a new creative theme, “Open Your Eyes To A Whole New Universe”, the critically-acclaimed rapper turned mainstream culture phenom will once again curate and produce his very own larger-than-life multi-stage music festival in his hometown of Houston, while also bringing back the beloved spirit and nostalgia of the legendary and now-defunct amusement park – AstroWorld – that Scott visited countless times as a child.

During the festival’s last iteration in November 2019, the one-day event played host to over 50,000 fans from across the globe for Scott’s special celebration of hip-hop, pop music, and Houston culture. As Scott himself solely curates and hand-selects the festival’s music lineup, past festival performances have featured some of today’s most sought-after music acts beyond just hip-hop and R&B including Post Malone, Rosalia, Pharrell Williams, Lil Wayne, Megan Thee Stallion, Young Thug, and Playboi Carti, among many others.

A portion of proceeds from the event will be donated to the festival’s official charity partner, Cactus Jack Foundation. Founded by Scott, the nonprofit organization seeks to empower and enrich the lives of youth by providing access to education and creative resources to ensure long-term success.

Noise Pop Festival, San Francisco Bay Area’s premier independent music and arts festival, is proud to reveal the initial lineup of music performers slated to perform at next year’s event taking place February 21-27, 2022. Festival badges are on sale now with individual concert tickets available tomorrow, Friday, November 5 at 10 a.m. PT. Here

Noise Pop Festival will once again transform the entire SF Bay Area into sprawling festival grounds as multiple events including music performances, art shows, film screenings, happy hours, after-hour parties, and more will take place nightly over the course of a week. Participating venues include historic and landmark spaces like Great American Music Hall, Bottom of the Hill, The Chapel, Rickshaw Stop, Swedish American Hall, August Hall, The New Parish, Gray Area, Public Works, Cornerstone, and 1015 Folsom, among others.

Similar to years past, the city-wide celebration of independent culture will offer attendees ample opportunities for music discovery with a meticulously curated lineup featuring exciting up-and-coming and underground artists performing alongside some of the most sought-after musicians touring today. Notable standouts on the initial music lineup include a number of Bay Area homegrown acts including Guapdad 4000, King Woman, and Papercuts, in addition to several acts playing SF for the very first time like Vegyn, Arooj Aftab, and India Jordan.

In typical Noise Pop fashion, the flagship festival will bring to the Bay Area a number of special FOMO-inducing performances. These special shows include The Microphones' performing in the Bay Area for the first time in 20 years, in addition to intimate shows from Alex G and Dorian Electra at August Hall. The 2022 event will also feature a pair of classic indie-rock full-album plays, with Titus Andronicus celebrating the (belated) 10th anniversary of The Monitor, and a rare show from iconic indie pop-rock outfit The Drums as they perform their classic album Portamento.

“This year’s festival is all about going back to our roots - celebrating local undercards alongside indie rock favorites while pushing the boundaries of traditional genre norms and creating some really special shows that fans would never expect, and hopefully never forget,” said Noise Pop Industries President, Stacy Horne. “Personally, it’s great to be back working with the Noise Pop team and I really look forward to reviving their beloved flagship festival after it was forced to take a year off in 2021. All I can say to fans is buy your tickets early because this is only phase one and we have tons of more exciting acts to be announced very soon.”

All badges grant access to all general admission (non-reserved seating) music concerts, badge-only happy hours, and some very special events to be announced, as well as all film screening events throughout the weeklong festival. Fans are encouraged to act fast as badge pricing will increase as the festival approaches with each wave of new performer announcements.

Noise Pop Festival marks the latest offering from the Noise Pop Industries team who for nearly three decades have become cultural arbiters and community advocates of the local SF music scene while promoting thousands of concerts and creating unique festival properties. Although in-person events were put on pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Noise Pop team has continued to innovate and identify new opportunities for growth over the past year.

The Noise Pop team would like to personally thank all of the partners and sponsors involved in the 2022 festival including Sierra Nevada, White Claw, Coastal Sun, BMI, Hotel Kabuki, and DoTheBay.

Noise Pop Festival is excited to announce an expanded music lineup as the San Francisco Bay Area’s premier independent music and arts festival returns for its 29th year on February 21-27, 2022. Festival badges are on sale now with individual concert tickets becoming available for purchase this coming Friday, January 14 at 10 a.m. PT at www.noisepopfest.com.

After previously announcing more than 40 acts to the 2022 lineup earlier this fall, local festival organizers have returned with even more exciting up-and-coming and underground artists locked in to perform as well as some of the most sought-after musicians touring today. Notable standouts on the initial music lineup included intimate sets from Alex G and Dorian Electra; plus Bay Area homegrown acts like King Woman and Papercuts; and several extra memorable shows including The Microphones' first Bay Area performance in 20 years, Titus Andronicus celebrating the (belated) 10th anniversary of The Monitor, and The Drums performing their classic album Portamento.

New music additions revealed today include a headlining set from legendary singer/songwriter Jeff Tweedy of the band Wilco, who will perform at The Fillmore to kick off the week-long celebration of music on Monday, February 21; as well as the oft-outspoken and internationally acclaimed emcee Azealia Banks, who will help close out the 2022 Festival on Sunday night. This concert is preceded by a special afternoon event on that same Sunday, February 27 featuring San Francisco’s very own and accomplished skateboarder-turned-music producer Tommy Guerrero, who will be hosting an afternoon BBQ grill-out while performing a Sunday matinee show.

Other additions include critically beloved UK producer and musician Kamaal Williams, who most recently played in SF at the 2019 edition of Noise Pop Festival; LA-based pianist and producer John Carroll Kirby, who is perhaps best known for his work supporting superstars like Frank Ocean, Solange, Norah Jones, and Miley Cyrus; Chinese-Japanese-American hyperpop meme-queen Lil Mariko; pop-synth songstress and producer Uffie; rising Atlanta-based rapper Bali Baby; and LA-based electronic producer Lara Sarkissian, who is also the founder of one of Oakland's most beloved music collectives called Club Chai; along with several more acts with Bay Area ties such as Lalin St. Juste, Experimental Housewife, Boy Scouts, and Provoker.

Several international acts have also been tapped to perform at next year’s festival, each of whom is performing for their very first time in the SF Bay Area. These acts include Irish-Scottish experimentalist Sega Bodega who just released his first two albums in back-to-back years to critical acclaim; Lastlings, an Australian electronic pop duo, led by siblings Amy and Josh Dowdle; Brazilian-Norwegian jazz singer/songwriter Charlotte Dos Santos; and Montreal-based electro-acoustic, multi-instrumentalist Ouri, who is opening for Arooj Aftab, a singer and composer with Pakistani roots that is currently nominated for the Best New Artist and Best Global Music Performance at the 2022 GRAMMY Awards.

Noise Pop will also soon host the North American festival stage debut for HE.SHE.THEY. on Saturday, February 26 at Public Works. HE.SHE.THEY. is an international event series, fashion house, and record label with diversity and inclusion in the DNA of everything it does with the belief that through representation, spaces can and should be made welcoming to people of all races, sexualities, gender identities, and beyond. 2022 festival performers include VTSS, LSDXOXO, and India Jordan, although former guest DJs at their parties have included the likes of Maya Jane Coles, Honey Dijon, and Ellen Allien as the event has taken over spaces globally from Berlin to Mumbai and everywhere in between.

Following the success of past collaborations, Noise Pop has also partnered once again with SFJAZZ to host a series of intimate concerts on February 24 through 27 inside the Joe Henderson Lab. Performers will include jazz pianists Connie Han and The Damani Rhodes Experience, as well as Oakland’s own jazz vocalist Valerie Troutt. SFJAZZ and festival organizers are also working together to co-present a special concert with performances from Moor Mother and Irreversible Entanglements at The New Parish in Oakland on Wednesday, February 23.

The Mill Valley Chamber is elated to announce today the launch of the Mill Valley Music Festival, a brand new multi-genre, all-ages one-day event that will take place near downtown Mill Valley on Saturday, May 7. GA and VIP tickets to this new boutique music festival will go on sale this Friday, February 18 at 10:00 a.m. PT via MillValleyMusicFest.com.

The new MVMF will soon transform Friends Field, located adjacent to the Mill Valley Community Center, into a sprawling festival grove for a one-day, all-ages celebration of local arts and culture. Nestled below the slopes of Mount Tamalpais, this new destination festival looks to serve as Mill Valley’s annual signature event while drawing attention to the longstanding cultural contributions of Mill Valley throughout the greater Bay Area and far beyond.

In addition to multi-talented musical performances featuring a diverse array of national touring acts and local musicians alike, fans from across the country can begin to plan for a weekend adventure as they visit this charming hidden gem and Redwood tree-lined village that is considered one of the most picturesque mountain towns in all of Northern California.

None other than Grammy Award-nominated singer/songwriter Ben Harper and his longtime band The Innocent Criminals have been tapped to kick off the new festival, which marks one of Harper’s only US dates currently announced for the first half of this year.

Lettuce, one of the great funk-jam bands of the modern age, is also set to perform, alongside other popular acts like Nashville’s very own psychedelic-folk rockstar Liz Cooper; Latin Grammy Award-winning Venezuelan disco-funk trio Los Amigos Invisibles; and the Bay Area-based La Doña, a Latin-Alternative music project from Cecilia Cassandra Peña-Govea and considered to be one of the most sought-after new acts from the Golden State.

The full music lineup for this year’s inaugural MVMF is listed below and available online at MillValleyMusicFest.com:

“There’s no doubt that these past few years have been incredibly rough for all of us,” says Jim Welte, director of the Chamber. “We can’t wait to celebrate the resilience of Mill Valley, Marin County, and the entire Bay Area, and the vital role the Bay plays in the vibrancy of the Golden State - all set to an amazing, day-long soundtrack of fantastic music and an abundance of incredible food, drink, and art while spending an afternoon with your best friends and ones you’ve yet to meet.”

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. PT on Friday, February 18 at MillValleyMusicFest.com. General Admission tickets start at just $90, and VIP passes will be available for $180. Discount-priced $25 tickets are also available for children under 12 years old if accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Interested fans are encouraged to purchase their tickets soon because only a limited number of tickets will be made available for purchase, while the Chamber looks to create a more elevated, curated, and intimate festival-going experience for guests of all ages.

In an effort to support and give back directly to the local Mill Valley community, organizers will donate a portion of proceeds to a number of local institutions including Kiddo!, Mill Valley Schools Community Foundation, which raises funds for arts education and programs in five public elementary schools and one middle school. The 2022 festival will also support the City of Mill Valley’s Public Art Program and a number of other year-round initiatives spearheaded by the Mill Valley Chamber.

The Mill Valley Chamber team would like to thank all of the sponsors responsible for bringing the inaugural festival to life including Bank of Marin, Nice Guys Delivery, and assembly.

June 12: Tower of Power, Too $hort

June 19: Toro Y Moi, Hello Yello

June 26: Liz Phair, Madi Diaz

July 3: Cold War Kids, Geographer

July 10: Old Crow Medicine Show, Molly Tuttle

July 17: Cat Power, Spelling

July 24: LeAnn Rimes, Amythyst Kiah

July 31: San Francisco Symphony

August 7: Taj Mahal, Monophonics

August 14: The Big Picnic featuring Phil Lesh & Friends, Midnight North

The 2022 concert season kicks off June 12 with a rare co-headlining performance from two legendary artists with deep Bay Area roots – the iconic soul/funk/R&B outfit Tower of Power and the multi-platinum selling emcee Too $hort. This will mark a long-awaited performance from the two acts who were originally set to headline the 2021 Festival’s Big Picnic before it was unexpectedly cut short due to extensive water damage to the Grove.

The next concert on June 19 features one of most of the decade's most influential musicians Toro Y Moi from the creative mind of Oakland-resident Chaz Bear, who is also releasing his highly-anticipated seventh studio album Mahal this coming Friday; followed by a performance on June 26 featuring 90s indie rockstar Liz Phair, who just released her latest album last summer following an 11-year hiatus from recording music.

The month of July will then begin with a Fourth of July weekend concert featuring alt-rockers Cold War Kids who just released the band's final album of their New Age Norms trilogy to rave reviews; followed by shows from Nashville-based Americana string band Old Crow Medicine Show on July 10 as the group preps for the release of their next album later this year; acclaimed indie songstress Cat Power on July 17, who just released her latest collection of cover songs this past January; and iconic county music singer LeAnn Rimes on July 24.

On July 31, Stern Grove Festival will also welcome to its stage a returning favorite, the San Francisco Symphony (SFS) led by conductor Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser. Since its inaugural concert in 1938, Stern Grove Festival has partnered every year with the SFS to offer a world-class performance to the public, which also marks the only opportunity for fans to see an admission-free performance by the SFS.

Multi-accomplished blues musician Taj Mahal will perform on Sunday, August 7. Fans that afternoon will be treated to a medley of hits across the blues pioneer’s 50+ year musical career.

The 2022 concert season concludes on Sunday, August 14 with the Festival’s annual fundraiser, The Big Picnic, featuring Phil Lesh and Friends, which is fronted by none other than one of the original founding members of the Grateful Dead. This season-ending Big Picnic fundraiser will once again help to raise funds in support of the Festival’s mission to provide admission-free concerts and arts education programs for the residents of the Bay Area, with a limited number of tables available for purchase today. For more information on table reservations, interested donors can email [email protected].

“We are excited to highlight so many legendary Bay Area artists in our 85th season and also to continue our trend in recent years of presenting more and more high profile artists at Stern Grove Festival.  From my perspective, this is our best lineup ever, and we truly hope that everyone can find at least one artist that appeals to them over the course of our summer season, ” said Executive Director Bob Fiedler.

All concerts for the 2022 season will begin at 2:00 p.m. PT at Sigmund Stern Grove, a historic park and concert meadow located at 19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard in the city’s Sunset District that offers an unparalleled outdoor setting for music lovers of all ages. Although the Grove experienced extensive damage last fall due to a major water main rupture and while all renovations are not yet complete, the original site has now been approved for in-person audiences again this summer.

Admission to each concert will continue to remain free to the public, although the Festival will once again implement an online ticket reservation system which made its successful debut last season. At 2:00 p.m. PT exactly 12 days prior to each event, an online portal will be opened through www.sterngrove.org to offer free passes on a first-come, first-served basis. For, example, tickets to the June 12 concert will be available to reserve on Tuesday, March 31 at 2:00 p.m. PT.

Stern Grove Festival will also be live streaming nearly all of its shows this year in order to reach as many music fans as possible, especially those unable to attend in-person. Stay tuned for more details surrounding the virtual live stream experience, which will kick off in conjunction with each Sunday concert starting at 2:00 p.m. PT via www.sterngrove.org.

Stern Grove Festival would like to thank the 2022 sponsors for their support, including San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department, Lisa & Douglas Goldman Fund, Grants for the Arts, William & Flora Hewlett Foundation, Waymo, Bloomberg, John & Marcia Goldman Foundation, Kaiser Permanente, National Endowment for the Arts, The Bernard Osher Foundation, Anchor Brewing, William G. The independent producers behind Sol Blume are excited to announce the return this fall of the largest afrobeats festival in the country, Lost In Riddim (LIR), for an expanded two-day celebration of music, culture and community. Two-day GA and VIP tickets will be available for purchase next Monday, July 25 via LostInRiddim.com.

After a successful inaugural event last fall, the festival is relocating to a new home just southwest of the original location in Sacramento - Lake Cunningham Park in San Jose, California. The outdoor event will feature a much larger footprint with two main stages offering fans non-overlapping performances, in addition to a third and much more intimate tent stage with daylong DJ sets.

More attendees than ever will be able to join in this year’s festivities as the new location in San Jose also offers more activations, immersive art, vendors and room for dancing amongst fellow music lovers while inside the festival, as well as more transportation and housing options for out-of-town travelers.

As an independent music festival cofounded by a pair of first-generation African immigrants, Lost in Riddim is proud to present for a second consecutive year a lineup made up entirely of African, Caribbean and Black music artists. Although the festival will remain centered around afrobeats music, even more international acts have been tapped to join in this year’s cultural celebration offering fans a larger curated selection of worldly sounds.

“As proud children of immigrant parents, we created Lost In Riddim because we wanted to offer a festival experience more authentic to ourselves and our culture. Something that speaks to us not only as music fans, but who we are as people,” said Fornati Kumeh, festival cofounder and talent buyer. “With a new and larger location, not to mention this incredible lineup of international artists locked in to perform, I’m expecting this to be a weekend for the record books. We really hope fans worldwide will come show out at Lost In Riddim this October.”

Organizers this year tapped three of the biggest afrobeats artists in the world - Wizkid, Burna Boy and Davido - to headline this year’s festival in celebration of Nigerian Independence Day Weekend taking place that same weekend. Other Nigerian acts traveling half-way around the world to perform at LIR include Rema, Kizz Daniel, Fireboy DML, Tiwa Savage, Maleek Berry, and Ayra Starr, among others.

Similar to last year’s inaugural event, the festival will also highlight other popular genres of African, Caribbean and Black-American music including reggae, dancehall, afro-fusion, hip-hop, R&B, and more. Notable performers outside of the world of afrobeats include international superstars like Ella Mai and Skepta, both of whom hail from the U.K. A number of Jamaican acts have also been added to the bill including Sean Paul and Koffee, in addition hip-hop acts like the Grammy Award-winning rapper Wale who hails from Washington D.C.

Two-day tickets will go on sale later this week at Noon PT on Monday, July 25 via LostInRiddim.com with GA passes available for just $225 and weekend VIP passes starting at $450. Interested fans should purchase tickets today as prices will continue to increase as the festival date approaches, as well as there are a limited quantity of total passes available for purchase and no single-day tickets will be sold.

A special ticket pre-sale will also be available for fans from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. PT that same morning on Monday, July 25. In order to take advantage of this limited offer, fans must first sign-up and pre-register online at LostInRiddim.com before Friday.

Lost in Riddim continues to be led by an independent Sacramento-based music promotions company ENT Legends responsible for producing popular concerts and festivals across Northern California. The team’s flagship festival property - R&B, soul, and hip-hop music festival Sol Blume - recently celebrated a third year while hosting over 40,000 attendees at Discovery Park and featuring an all-female headlining lineup with Summer Walker, Jhené Aiko, Jorja Smith, and Jazmine Sullivan, among more than 30 other performers.

Tickets to the initial slate of events will go on sale this Thursday, March 9 at 10 a.m. PT via bluenotenapa.com, although more concerts will be rolled out in the near future.

After a successful two-year stint at an up-Valley winery, Blue Note Summer Sessions is relocating this summer to a new home in Napa Valley - Silverado Resort. North Carolina’s own J. Cole and his Dreamville team successfully kicked off their third annual Dreamville Festival this past weekend in Raleigh, welcoming 100,000 festival attendees from around the globe to his home state – including all 50 U.S. states and 23 countries across four continents – during the two-day outdoor music festival.

Dreamville fans of all ages were once again treated to performances from some of today’s most sought-after music acts ranging from award-winning global festival headliners alongside exciting up-and-comers bound for stardom. Keeping with tradition, the lineup and festival experiences were curated by the festival founder himself, J. Cole.

To close out the event in spectacular fashion, J. Cole’s Sunday set featured a never-before-seen collaborative festival concert with special guest Drake, with additional unannounced surprise guest performances from Lil Wayne, 21 Savage, and Lil Uzi Vert - all of which collectively offered festival-goers the concert of a lifetime headlined by two of the most acclaimed and accomplished performers of this generation.

Dreamville Festival 2023 also featured performances from international superstars including USHER, whose energetic set included a first-ever live festival performance of his smash hit “Good Love” with female rap duo City Girls among a medley of hits from his 20+ year illustrious career; and Burna Boy’s larger-than-life Day 2 music performance. Additional notable highlights include Summer Walker’s live announcement of her new upcoming EP, Clear 2:Soft Life while inviting labelmate 6lack to perform alongside her; a guest appearance from Ayra Starr during Bas’ set and more.

The two-day celebration also marked a rare reunion for Dreamville Records as J. Cole brought together the entire music roster to perform at the fest including Ari Lennox, Bas, J.I.D, EarthGang, Cozz and Omen, plus Lute who hails from nearby Charlotte - nearly all of whom joined J. Cole onstage for Sunday’s grand finale.

The festival continues to offer an opportunity for J. Cole brings together Dreamville fans worldwide each spring, while also providing a cultural and multi-million economic impact that lasts long after the festival wraps each spring. Attendees were offered a taste of the good life in North Carolina this weekend with dozens of local vendors spread across the Dix Park festival grounds - most of whom were based in the greater Triangle area.

While roaming the grounds, fans were able to immerse themselves in site-wide art installations; learn more about local community organizations along Nonprofit Row; enjoy surprise impromptu marching band performances; and ride the sky-high Ferris wheel offering unparalleled views of the city of Raleigh.

Leading up to the festival on Friday night, Dreamville and Amazon Music co-hosted a day-long educational conference at the Contemporary Art Museum of Raleigh (CAM Raleigh) centered around music production, promotion and songwriting, while kicking off 50 & Forever, the celebration of hip-hop’s 50th anniversary from Amazon Music. Presented by Rotation on Amazon Music and NC DNCR (The N.C. Department of Natural & Cultural Resources) with additional support from Beatclub, the all-ages event featured words from both executives and artists from Dreamville Records, as well as other award-winning producers, performers and industry experts like Timbaland, 9th Wonder, Brian "B.Dot" Miller, and more who shared insights into their journeys within the recording industry.

The festival team would also like to thank and show appreciation to all the 2023 partners and sponsors who helped make this year’s event possible including Rotation on Amazon and Amazon Music, who once again exclusively live-streamed the two-day event to fans throughout the world; as well as about-face, Bacardi, Everything Legendary, Google Pixel, Lemon Perfect, Monster Energy, Patron Tequila, Pepsi Zero Sugar, Starry, Smirnoff Ice, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Vistaprint, and Visit Raleigh. Stern Grove Festival, the oldest outdoor music festival in the San Francisco Bay Area, is excited to announce this year’s music lineup as the admission-free weekend concert series makes a triumphant return to Sigmund Stern Grove for its 86th season beginning Sunday, June 18.

After hosting more than 70,000 total attendees during last year’s Festival, the independently-owned multi-genre outdoor music series will once again be home to weekly performances from some of today’s most sought-after acts, in addition to a number of local Bay Area performers throughout the summer season. Beginning June 18 through August 20, fans of all ages will be treated to musical programming as eclectic and diverse as the city Stern Grove Festival calls home with ten consecutive Sunday afternoon concerts.

This year’s season will also mark a welcomed revival of the Festival’s home at Sigmund Stern Grove, a historic park and concert meadow located at 19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard in the city’s Sunset District that for decades has offered an unparalleled outdoor concert setting for music lovers of all ages. Although the Grove experienced extensive flood damage this past winter and again at the end of the 2021 concert season, the repaired site will soon reopen to audiences this summer. Additional repair work in limited areas of Stern Grove will continue through the summer of 2023 but will not affect the upcoming concert series.

Stern Grove Festival’s 2023 summer concert calendar is listed below:

June 18        Snarky Puppy, Isaiah Sharkey

June 25        Indigo Girls (with Full Band), Neko Case

July 2        Santigold, Ogi

July 9        Lyle Lovett and His Large Band, Andrew St. James

July 16        Angelique Kidjo, Jupiter & Okwess

July 23         SF Symphony with Special Guest Lettuce

July 30         Bob Moses, Neil Frances

August 6         Buddy Guy Damn Right Farewell Tour, Eric Gales

August 13     Patti Smith, Bob Mould

August 20     The Big Picnic Featuring The Flaming Lips, Alan Palomo (Neon Indian DJ Set)

This year’s festival hits the ground running with Snarky Puppy, a Jazz collective consisting of nearly two dozen talented musicians who continuously collaborate on stage to create a live performance like no other. Following this year’s season-opening concert will be the iconic guitar-backed duo Indigo Girls, who after decades of weaving their nine-album discography into modern music fans’ daily music shuffle, will make their Stern Grove debut on June 25. Warming up the stage for this female-led duo is concert co-headliner Neko Case as the inventive songwriter wraps up her “Wild Creatures” tour following the release of her latest album and celebrates her famed career spanning over 20 years.

Genre-defying music artist Santigold will perform the next weekend in support of her latest album Spirituals following a six-year hiatus from recorded music and marking her first Bay Area performance since the final edition of Treasure Island Music Festival in 2018.

After the annual 4th of July holiday festivities, Grammy Award-winning Texas legend Lyle Lovett will be joined in the Grove by his renowned Large Band on July 9 to perform a selection of classics from his impressive catalog of hit songs that spans over three decades, as well as new tunes from his critically acclaimed album 12th of June released last year.

Next, Stern Grove Festival will host the internationally-recognized Angelique Kidjo, known best for blurring the boundaries between afrobeat, jazz, and classical music on July 16. The West African singer is no stranger to the Bay Area, having produced a project with the renowned San Francisco Symphony who are also set to perform in the Grove the following Sunday.

On July 23, Stern Grove Festival will welcome to its stage a returning favorite, the San Francisco Symphony (SFS) led by none other than conductor Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser. Since its inaugural concert in 1938, Stern Grove Festival has partnered every year with the SFS to offer a world-class performance to the public, which also marks the only opportunity each year for symphonic fans to see an admission-free performance by the SFS. Making for arguably the most unique SFS performance to date in the Grove, soulful funk collective Lettuce will infuse modern hip-hop and classic jazz into the popular orchestral ballads for an unprecedented concert performance.

A pair of Canada-born electronic DJs and music producers, Bob Moses, can be seen at the Grove on July 30, as they perform a number of dance-inducing hits songs, while the duo also supports EDM heavyweights ODESZA on their summer/fall 2023 tour.

Kicking off the new month on August 6 is Grammy Award-winning blues icon Buddy Guy as he performs in celebration of his seventh No. 1 album The Blues Don’t Lie released last year. This special Stern Grove Festival performance will serve as the sole Bay Area stop alongside his “‘Damn Right’ farewell tour as one of the greatest guitarists of all time ends his extensive touring career.

Punk rock’s brazen lyricist, Patti Smith, will perform on August 13 as she comes off of her most recent album, The Perfect Vision Reworkings, released this past year. Taking Rock & Roll fame with a reputation of shameless unconventionality, Stern Grove is excited to welcome her as a bonafide staple to their 2023 lineup.

To close out the Festival in spectacular fashion, the 2023 concert season concludes on Sunday, August 20 featuring The Flaming Lips as part of the Festival’s annual fundraiser, The Big Picnic. This season-ending concert will help to raise funds in support of the Festival’s mission to provide admission-free concerts and arts education programs for the residents of the Bay Area, with a limited number of tables available for purchase today. For more information on table reservations, interested donors can email [email protected]

“Our Grove has been put through the wringer the past few seasons, but I couldn’t be more proud of the resolve and determination our team has shown as our Festival has not only persevered but grown and ultimately thrived in the face of such adversity. Being able to bring back this annual summer reunion with no delays is a cause for real celebration among music lovers across the Bay area, and we look forward to hosting each of you at what I truly believe will be our best season yet,” said Stern Grove Festival’s Executive Director Bob Fiedler.

Although admission to each concert will continue to remain free to the public, the nonprofit-led Festival will welcome the return of its online ticket reservation system via www.sterngrove.org to offer free passes on a first-come, first-served basis. The independent event producers behind Big As Texas, a new country and Americana music and food festival, are proud to announced that the inaugural outdoor festival will be held at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds (9333 Airport Rd, Conroe, TX 77303) near Houston, Texas beginning Friday, May 10 through Sunday, May 12, 2024.

A limited number of early-bird three-day GA will be available for purchase online beginning at Noon CST today at BigAsTexasFest.com, with very limited ticket prices starting at just $169.99 for a three-day pass. Fans are encouraged to purchase early, as ticket prices will continue to rise as the festival date approaches - meaning this is the cheapest possible three-day ticket patrons can purchase before the event arrives next May.

Utilizing the historic fairgrounds’ sprawling 30+ acre campus, the team behind Big As Texas remains as ambitious as the Lone Star State itself with dozens of music performers, restaurants, vendors and Texas artisans in store for 2024 attendees along with custom car shows, equestrian exhibitions, carnival games, immersive art installations, silent auctions, chainsaw carvings, and so much more.

At this very moment, the festival team is putting the final touches on a world-class music lineup featuring larger-than-life household names, Grammy Award-winners, legends of the genre, modern chart topping hitmakers, and some of today’s most sought-after up-and-coming music acts – all of whom will perform next May while set against the background of sprawling Texas prairie land and three main stages, one of which is large enough to host crowds of over 100,000 at any one time.

With country and Americana music having played such an instrumental role in both the longstanding history and modern-day cultural fabric of the Lone Star State, these two genres will serve as the cornerstones of this new festival brand’s booking efforts. However, in true Texas fashion, the festival will also look to shine a spotlight on the large and diverse pool of talent that the state has to offer, with many special surprises in store for Big As Texas festival-goers.

Not only will fans be treated to world-class music entertainment, but festival patrons can also look forward to an expansive food and beverage lineup featuring a curated selection of local chefs, restaurants, and popular culinary destinations found across the state - many of whom will be offering live open-fire grilling as well as cooking demos throughout the weekend affair.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to camp out under the stars with more details to follow. Campers will be treated to a number of special amenities to create a safe and welcoming weekend adventure filled with exploration and human connection amongst fellow festival-goers, not to mention exclusive late-night parties and after-hours concerts just for overnight guests.

The core team behind the new festival includes a distinguished ‘who’s who’ of seasoned Harris and Montgomery County event veterans - Steve Said of Dosey Doe and Trey Diller of Inspire Productions - in addition to Robert E. Marling Jr., a local county resident, longtime philanthropist, and former-CEO of Woodforest National Bank based nearby in Woodlands, Texas.

Said, who has been producing hundreds of shows each year for more than two decades, has built Dosey Doe into an undeniable Texas music institution by regularly featuring concerts that range famed country legends performing in more intimate settings to show from today’s most popular and distinguished singer-songwriters.

"A Festival like Big As Texas is long, long overdue, especially with regard to country music festivals in the region, " proclaimed Steve Said.

After a brief stint in the NFL, Trey Diller has also been producing his own events and festivals throughout the region to much fanfare for many years. Over the past decade, Said and Diller have collectively worked alongside more than 500 musicians from across the globe, offering the Big As Texas team a rare opportunity to foster these working relationships and build something entirely new that will serve their patrons near and far for years to come.

“We are pulling out all the stops on this one. We have recruited some of the most innovative minds in the industry and plan to make Big As Texas a cultural fixture in the state and beyond,” said festival cofounder Trey Diller.

The three-day festival will be hosted outdoors in one of the fast-growing counties in the country - Montgomery County - which also happens to be facing an unprecedented epidemic with rapidly-rising rates of suicide deathes. Due to these alarming statistics, suicide prevention will provide a constant rally cry for festival organizers as each have been personally impacted the issue.

With an estimated 100+ suicides in America per day that equates to one suicide death occuring every 11 minutes per the CDC, suicide remains of the leading causes of death in the United States impacting millons of Americans and their families each year. To combat this, festival organizers will be inviting local experts, doctors, therapists and elected officials, as well as nonprofit organizations from across the country to join together onsite next May.

As the issue of mental health and wellness as well as suicide prevention and awareness serves as a major focal point for festival organizers as they establish the core foundation of this new festival, Big As Texas will soon provide ample resources to address festival attendees’ mental health concerns while onsite next May, with the ultimate goal of making a major impact in their lives long-after the festival wraps up Year 1.Furthermore, organizers have decided to donate ten percent of proceeds from each individual ticket sold to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that promote suicide death prevention both in Montgomery County and across Texas.

A limited number of onsite activation and educational opportunities are available for nonprofit organizations that are dedicated to suicide prevention, with more details available in the coming weeks.

Ultimately, the mission of Big As Texas is to have a positive and substantial economic and cultural impact on Montgomery County and the surrounding region; become one of the most anticipated annual events across the state of Texas, one that is a perfect complement to the existing event landscape and cultural fabric of the the Lone Star State; and provide life-saving education and financial support to some of America’s most vulnerable communities that continued to be impacted by suicide.

Stay tuned as the star-studded music lineup will be released this fall. For more news and announcements from Big As Texas Festival, fans are encouraged to visit the following channels while following the festival on social media:

2024 MUSIC LINEUP

With country and Americana music having played such an instrumental role in both the longstanding history and modern-day cultural fabric of the Lone Star State, these two genres serve as the cornerstones of this new festival’s booking efforts with the team having curated a world-class music lineup featuring modern-day superstars, legends of the genre, accomplished Grammy Award-winners, and some of today’s most sought-after up-and-coming music acts.

At a glance, the Big As Texas Festival 2024 will host more than 50,000 attendees who will enjoy over 26 hours of live music from the 35 artists billed for this year's three-day event, spread across 75+ acres of rolling Texas plains. Most importantly, a third of the lineup hails from the Lone Star State.

This year's festival will feature none other than country cornerstone Thomas Rhett, who just released his latest album “20 Number Ones” on September 29. Joining him is chart-topping music sensation Dierks Bentley, who boasts dozens of chart-topping singles over his two-decade career; Grammy winner Billy Strings, recognized as the 2022 Americana Music Awards Artist of the Year; and rising star Morgan Wade, whose debut work earned the top spot on Rolling Stone's list of Country Albums of the Year.

Other major performers range from multi-Grammy Award-winners Dwight Yoakam and Los Lobos to Texas music legends Tracy Byrd and Clay Walker to new-age country acts like Warren ZeidersMaddie & TeaBrelandAnne Wilson, and Drake Milligan that dominate the radio airwaves and online streaming services.

Texas will be well-represented with a number of acts including Midland, Jamestown Revival, Amanda Shires, Buffalo Nichols, Braxton Keith, and Montgomery County’s very own Kate Watson, among other home-state performers.

“We are stepping out in grand fashion for our inaugural year, and I couldn’t be more excited about the stellar music lineup we have curated for next May. It’s ultimately meant to be representative of the many facets of Country and Americana music because we like to think there is something for everyone at Big As Texas Fest,” said Big As Texas’s Co-Executive Producer and Talent Buyer Steve Said, best known for his work supporting the legendary Country music venue Dosey Doe.

“With an incredible lineup secured for Year 1, my team and I now turn our attention to curating all of the major aspects of the festival-piong experience for fans - from the food and drink to the nonprofit partnerships to the immersive activations. We already have a lot of amazing plans in store for our fans, and I’m hopeful Texans will show out in major form to support our independent locally-owned festival,” said Big As Texas’s co-Executive Producer Trey Diller, a lifelong resident and community advocate based in the Conroe community.

LOCAL MUSIC COMPETITION IN NOVEMBER

Leading up to the inaugural event next year, the organizers are hosting a Big as Texas Throwdown competition in which over a dozen local music acts will compete for two slots to perform on the festival's main stage next May.

With tickets available now for just $10 at www.doseydoetickets.com, the two-night event takes place on November 7-8 at Dosey Doe’s Big Barn (25911 Interstate 45 N, Sprig, TX 77380) with winners ultimately selected based on crowd applause.

Tuesday’s competition will feature MARSHALLWilliam Ward & the Co-ConspiratorsAbigail TaylorBig Jordan Bandand Caleb Young, with night 2 on Wednesday will include 35 DriveSun Valley StationKyle Garrett BandGarrison Nunn, and Billie Jo Jones.

BEYOND THE MUSIC PERFORMANCES

The team behind Big As Texas remains as ambitious as the Lone Star State itself with much more than just music performances in store for attendees at this massive three-day celebration.

Held at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds (9333 Airport Rd, Conroe, TX 77303) outside Houston, Big as Texas will make use of the fairgrounds’ sprawling 75+ acre campus with performances set against the background of sprawling Texas prairie land.

Stayed tuned as a new lineup featuring dozens of Texas vendors and artisans will be revealed in the coming months, alongside a schedule chalked full of activities from open-fire grilling with local chefs to custom car shows to equestrian exhibitions to carnival games to immersive art installations, silent auctions, chainsaw carvings, and so much more.

Plus, a limited number of festival attendees will also have the opportunity to camp out under the stars with more details to follow. Campers will be treated to a number of special amenities to create a safe and welcoming weekend adventure filled with exploration and human connection amongst fellow festival-goers, not to mention exclusive late-night performances just for overnight guests.

SUPPORTING SUICIDE PREVENTION

The three-day festival will be hosted outdoors in one of the fast-growing counties in the country - Montgomery County - which also happens to be facing an unprecedented epidemic with rapidly rising rates of suicide deaths. Due to these alarming statistics, suicide prevention will provide a constant rallying cry for festival organizers as each has been personally impacted by the issue.

With an estimated 100+ suicides in America per day and approximately one suicide death occurring every 11 minutes per the CDC, suicide remains one of the leading causes of death in the United States impacting millions of American families each year. To combat this, festival organizers will be inviting local experts, doctors, therapists, and nonprofit organizations to join together onsite next May.

As the issue of mental health and wellness as well as suicide prevention and awareness serves as a major focal point for festival organizers as they establish the core foundation of this new festival, Big As Texas will soon provide resources to address today’s mental health concerns, with the ultimate goal of making a major impact long after the festival wraps up on Sunday night. A limited number of onsite activation and educational opportunities are available for nonprofit organizations that are dedicated to suicide prevention, with more details available in the coming weeks.

Furthermore, organizers have decided to donate ten percent of net ticket proceeds from each individual ticket sold to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that promote suicide death prevention both in Montgomery County and across Texas.

MORE ABOUT THE TEAM

The core team behind the new festival includes a distinguished ‘who’s who’ of seasoned Harris and Montgomery County event veterans – Steve Said of the popular Country music venue Dosey Doe and Trey Diller of Inspire Productions - in addition to Robert E. Marling Jr., a local county resident, longtime philanthropist, and former-CEO of Woodforest National Bank based nearby in Woodlands, Texas.

Said and Diller have collectively worked alongside more than 500 musicians from across the globe over the past decade offering the Big As Texas team a rare opportunity to foster these working relationships and build something new that will serve patrons near and far for years to come.

Ultimately, the team behind Big As Texas hopes to have a positive and substantial economic and cultural impact on Montgomery County and the surrounding region; become one of the most anticipated annual events across the state of Texas; and provide life-saving education and financial support to some of America’s most vulnerable communities impacted by suicide.

Festival organizers would like to thank this year’s partners and sponsors for supporting the inaugural event including Woodforest National Bank, Busch Light, Karbach Brewing Co., 93Q Country (KKBQ-FM), City of Conroe, Ranch Water Hard Selter, NÜTRL Vodka Seltzer, George Dickel, Cutwater Spirits, and Cowboy Pools.
