The Lost Jazz Shrines series is dedicated to bringing legendary NYC jazz clubs back into the consciousness of the world with a thorough remembrance and celebration. In celebration of the resonant history of Birdland, we will examine the musical and stylistic legacy of Charlie Parker through three completely different lenses and cultural perspectives. This will be achieved through the efforts of three exceptional alto saxophonists.

International DJ & Producer, Axwell, recently announced the release of the long awaited track “Center of the Universe” on Ultra Music as well as the launch of a brand new cutting edge interactive video for the track.

Mishawaka Amphitheatre's 2013 season commences this Saturday May 18 with Head For The Hills' Pickin on the Poudre, presented by 88.9 FM KRFC. This event has become a beloved tradition...opening the venue's summer season with the Fort Collins area's premier bluegrass group.

I had the pleasure of catching this homespun Nederland crew at Quixotes a couple weeks ago. It’s a venue I feel gracious to walk in alone to and find friends of all forms waiting inside. Gipsy Moon adds a whole new arena of affability to the experience. Though they are young, they take on the somber musical sentiment of an ensemble years ahead of their time. They represent an old time classic grass that’s both invigorating and enriching, but in the most laid back of manners.

Formed from weekly shows at Phil Lesh's Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael, CA, the Terrapin Family Band has become the venue's official house band. Terrapin Crossroads' constant free bar shows, often featuring bandleader Phil, have created an opportunity for the young musicians of Terrapin Crossroads' crew to perform together and with a diverse cast of visiting musicians.

It is with a heavy heart that after 10 years with Cornmeal, we say goodbye to Allie Kral.  Her powerhouse presence on stage and musical chemistry with the band will be greatly missed.  We wish her the best in her musical endeavors and cannot thank her enough for the hard work and personal sacrifices she gave throughout her 10 years on the road. Cornmeal will be conducting a nationwide search for a fiddle replacement in the coming months and looking to get back on the road as soon as possible.

Shining Stone Records announces the signing of Connecticut-based guitarist Paul Gabriel, and will release his label debut CD, What’s the Chance, on June 18. Produced by Duke Robillard, What’s the Chance features Paul Gabriel backed by a core band of Billy Bileca on bass, Nick Longo on drums and Larry “Buzzy” Fallstrom on keyboards.

Former Grateful Dead keyboardist Tom Constanten and Normal Bean will release an album together. It was recorded Live in 2012, and has extra studio tracks from Tom and Normal, that the Label has been holding back. the CD is Due out from GRAGROUP in August. The Band has scheduled a few dates in California and West Virginia for a CD release tour.

Seven albums into one of country music’s most-respected and most-unpredictable careers, award-winning singer/songwriter Dierks Bentley continues to grow. His latest evolution comes in the form of RISER, a project due this fall that stands as his most personal to date.Written and recorded in the year following his father’s death, the album draws its title from “I’m A Riser,” a song about resilience and determination.

Julien's Auctions, the world’s premier music and entertainment memorabilia auction house along with Hard Rock Cafe New York has announced a rare exhibit including remarkable music memorabilia to display for press TODAY, Monday, May 13, 2013 from 11 am – 5 pm and Tuesday, and May 14, 2013 from 11 am – 5 pm. The exhibit precedes the Julien’s Auctions Music Icons auction event to take place at Hard Rock Cafe New York on Saturday, May 18, 2013.
