Jorma Kaukonen reminises about manager, Bill Thompson

Bill Thompson, manager of Jefferson Airplane and subsequently the spinoffs Jefferson Starship, Hot Tuna and Starship, died of a heart attack yesterday, Jan. 12, in Mill Valley, Calif. Thompson was 70.

Kung Fu and Twiddle Announce Dirty Dozen Tour

Two of the most buzzed about bands on the scene, Kung Fu and Twiddle, are joining forces for a twelve night co-headlining run kicking off April 1 in Buffalo, NY. The bands will take turns closing each night but to keep things interesting, it will not be announced in advance.

Chris Robinson Brotherhood Adds Tony Leone On Drums

Chris Robinson Brotherhood announce today that Tony Leone has joined the band on drums. His first performance with The CRB will be this coming weekend at the Sunshine Music & Blues Festival in Florida followed by a 14-date tour across the Midwest and East Coast in February. Leone's arrival follows the departure of the band's original drummer George Sluppick.

This night was a party, and who could be surprised by that with the amount of talent at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom on this night. There were three bands and three painters that created an electric dance space under the giant disco ball to kick off the holiday festivities. The famous Frenchy, Scramble Campbell, and John Bukaty lined their canvas side by side on the left side of the stage and prepared for a night of sheer artistry.
