In 2015, a restless, curious talent from Gloucestershire, England, decided to revisit her Nashville relatives—she had previously spent summers with them, and perhaps she believed that this jaunt would just be one more road trip, yet this visit yielded a major career milestone.

In fact, singer-songwriter, Lilly Winwood, found that visit so illuminating that she chose to document her coming-of-age observations and anecdotes. The result became 2017 debut EP, ‘Silver Stage’.

Two powerhouse bands in one night made for an incredible evening of music at the Park West Chicago on 2/17/2018.  Night two of the 2-night run was a packed house filled with gawking jaws agape at the Grammy-winning Infamous Stringdusters together with the loveable Leftover Salmon.  It was one of those shows that leaves you knowing what music should look and sound like.

Eva Cassidy's SONGBIRD album was initially released by independent label Blix Street Records in April, 1998.  The posthumous release, an anthology of recordings by the Washington, DC-based singer who had died in November of 1996, is comprised of four tracks from her first solo album, LIVE AT BLUES ALLEY (taken from her January 3, 1996 performance with her band at the Georgetown jazz club and locally released a few months before she died); five tracks from EVA BY HEART, the studio album she was recording at the time

Indie rock/blues band, Marty O'Reilly & the Old Soul Orchestra, have announced a Spring 2018 tour in support of their recently released album, Stereoscope. The string of dates will kick off on March 14th at SXSW, and will include stops in New Orleans, LA, Chicago, IL, Seattle, WA and more, before wrapping up with a set at BottleRock in Napa, CA on May 27th. Huddie William Ledbetter became the iconic figure, Lead Belly, in the music world during the first half of the 20th century. Although he played piano, mandolin, harmonica, violin, and diatonic accordion known as a windjammer, he was best known for his virtuosity on the twelve-string guitar. According to Dan McClenaghan of allthat jazz.com, “Lead Belly was one of the more polished of the delta blues artists, relatively speaking.”

Acclaimed artist and activist Joan Baez will begin a run of North American dates beginning on September 11 in Ithaca, NY. The extensive run of shows, following 50 UK and European dates, marks Baez’s last year of formal touring and includes stops at the historic Beacon Theatre in New York City and Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. They dropped a few hints this past weekend and now it is official... Metallica's WorldWired Tour returns to North America this Fall!  Following last summer's 25 date sold-out stadium run, this year Metallica is bringing the in-the-round production currently being seen in European arenas to the U.S.

Wishbone Ash, one of the most influential guitar bands in the history of rock, will be coming to the States in April 2018 on the Open Road Tour. True to its name, the tour will see the band clocking some serious miles as they return to America's Southern swath, from North Carolina and Florida to California. One of Dublin, Ireland's most popular bands, The Coronas, made their long-awaited return to North America with a stop in Portland, Oregon earlier this month. The multi-platinum-selling band have been touring in support of their fifth album, Trust The Wire, which became The Coronas' first-ever #1 album topping the Irish music charts last June.

Some years back, Grateful Web’s Dylan Muhlberg spoke with celebrated Jazz Fusion drummer Billy Cobham in the midst of a long-running 40th-anniversary celebratory tour of his groundbreaking debut album Spectrum (1973). Put simply, Cobham alongside contemporaries such as the late Tony Williams, changed drumming in jazz from then on.
