The Hatch Family & Pet Projekt are excited to announce the lineup for the 3rd Annual Bluegrass & Beyond Music and Art Festival. This year’s lineup is shaping up to be the best yet with legendary musicians Peter Rowan Bluegrass Band, Keller and the Keels, Danny Barnes, Hot Buttered Rum, and many others.  In addition on August 27th the festival focuses on the “beyond” with a late night performance at Mont Bleu Resort featuring The Pimps of Joytime, Eprom & Groove Session. This year’s festival is moving to what is quickly becoming known as one of the most scenic venues in all of the country; pairing great music with the beautiful outdoor setting of Lake Tahoe.

One of the goals in creating the Bluegrass & Beyond Music and Arts Festival is to share this vibrant mountain community and help transform it into a destination for Bluegrass fans across the nation. While the festival started in 2009, this is the first year at this amazing location. The festival started as a one day beer and bluegrass bash on the loading dock of the Mt. Tallac Brwing Co and was organized by South Lake Tahoe musician Andy Hatch and his wife Jenny. But as word of the festival spread it became apparent that a new site would be needed and Tahoe’s Sand Harbor State Park seemed the perfect backdrop. Bluegrass & Beyond is unique in its feel; it is a family event that has had a steady, organic growth because of the honest, authentic flow of events.

The iconic and profoundly influential Nitty Gritty Dirt Band (NGDB), often cited as a catalyst for an entire movement in Country Rock and American Roots Music, released their new live EP called Under the Big Top Vol. 1 this week. The EP features six fan favorites performed live including "Mr. Bojangles," "Bless the Broken Road" and "Fishin' in the Dark," which was recently certified GOLD by the RIAA for digital sales. Recorded in 2010 at the band's performance at Big Top Chautauqua in Wisconsin, the EP perfectly captures a live experience with NGDB.

"It's a little slice of Dirt...a combo platter of hits, fan-favorites and even some music from our latest CD, Speed of Life," said band member Jeff Hanna. "We recorded it last summer at one of our favorite venues, Big Top Chautauqua in Bayfield, Wisconsin. We had such a blast we knew it had to be shared with the fans!"

Available now and featured for digital download at iTunes and in the band's online store, Under the Big Top Vol. 1 is a must-have for any Nitty Gritty fan. Physical albums of this new Live EP are available now, only at nittygritty.com or a live NGDB show.

With multi-platinum and gold records, a string of top ten hits, multiple Grammy, IBMA, CMA Awards and nominations, and recent GOLD Digital Certification, the band's accolades only continue to accumulate. Showing no signs of slowing down, NGDB is currently on an extensive North American Tour in support of their most recent release, the critically acclaimed album Speed of Life (2009, Sugar Hill Records). Proving the "circle won't be unbroken," the band is celebrating another HUGE milestone this year, over four decades of touring and making music!

Reigning CMA and ACM Vocal Group of the Year Lady Antebellum celebrate their career fifth No. one song this week as the lead single “Just A Kiss” tops the Billboard Country Singles chart. The track simultaneously earns PLATINUM certification and spends a third week at No. one on the Billboard Canada Country chart. “Just A Kiss” is setting the pace for the multi-platinum group's upcoming third album OWN THE NIGHT due out Sept. 13.

“Seeing country radio and the fans embrace the first single off our new album like this has been amazing and also a little relieving,” said Lady A’s Charles Kelley. “There are definitely some nerves and anxiousness involved when you are introducing new music, and this reaction has been beyond what we hoped for.  It just makes us even more excited for Sept. 13 to get here."

“Just A Kiss” resonated with fans immediately, debuting at No. seven on Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart to become the highest debut by a country group in the chart’s 52-year history. OWN THE NIGHT follows the band’s GRAMMY winning second disc NEED YOU NOW. Since its release in Jan. 2010, the album has sold over five million copies across the globe, spawned three multi-week No. one hits (“Need You Now,” “American Honey,” “Our Kind of Love”), taken home five GRAMMY Awards (a career total of six) and scored over a dozen other award show trophies.

Beirut’s The Rip Tide is out August 30 on Zach Condon’s very own Pompeii Records. Few predicted the inward journey Beirut leader, Zach Condon, would achieve on The Rip Tide, an album with the most introspective and memorable songs of his young career. With songs that speak of love, friendship, isolation, and community, touching on universal human themes that are less fabricated stories than impressions of life at a quarter century of age, the album exposes a depth of honesty that outstrips the simplified nomadic troubadour image of his past. Songs are no longer about imagining places you haven’t been; they’re about places of which we are all extremely familiar, perhaps too familiar. This dramatic shift expands Beirut’s palate as Condon has coated serious lyrics with his greatest tunes ever. The second track, “Santa Fe,” is the best pop song he has yet written, a jumpy ode to the town of his youth, and an early sign that The Rip Tide is all about the staycation.

Listen to The Rip Tide in its entirety now at NPR Music, and share “Santa Fe” stream.

STREAM BEIRUT’S THE RIP TIDE   | “SANTA FE

The physical release of the album will be available in three formats in the US:

Standard CD DIGIPAK - In a book style format w/gold foil stamped lettering.

As previously announced, Beirut will be touring in support of The Rip Tide. Joining Zach Condon (ukulele, trumpet, piano, vocals) on the road is Perrin Cloutier (accordion, piano), Paul Collins (electric bass, upright bass), Ben Lanz (trombone, piano, tuba), Nick Petree (drums), and Kelly Pratt (trumpet, euphonium).

With an unwavering dedication to increased awareness and funding for arts education and a passion for art and the creative process, Sara Hickman provides a unique and powerful voice for women, her generation and the value and importance of the arts in school. It is no wonder more than 30 Texas music legends including Willie Nelson, Rhett Miller, Shawn Colvin, Robert Earl Keen and dozens more have come together to both pay tribute and add to her philanthropic endeavors with The Best of Times. Sales of this compilation CD, available nationwide TODAY, August 23, 2011, will benefit Theatre Action Project (TAP), a non-profit that brings art, music and theatre to Central Texas schools.

The 38-track double disc project was inspired by a recent slash in arts funding by Texas State Legislature. “I wanted to utilize my position as the Official State Musician of Texas to promote families being creative together,” says Hickman. “Many times this starts with children bringing home ideas they learn at school.”

The compilation CD was created to raise funds for TAP and help the organization take the arts and theatre back into the schools. Hickman goes on to say, “I knew thousands and thousands of Texas children were missing out on what art, music, theater, dance and writing can bring to their lives.” Hickman’s goal is to raise $250,000 for TAP and share her story with Texas state legislature on Arts Day in an effort to have arts funding fully reinstate in Texas schools.

About Theatre Action Project (TAP):

A non-profit, TAP is made up of professionally trained artists and educators that work in partnership with schools and communities to lead unique and engaging arts programs which allow young people to learn critical life skills, gain tools for creative expression and have successful experiences that build self-esteem and confidence

By the early 1960s, Frank Sinatra and Count Basie had already cemented their respective reputations as two of the most versatile and enduring entertainers of the 20th century. When these two titans united in the studio for recordings on Reprise — Sinatra’s own label, which he’d launched at the start of the decade — the results were historic. The first album was simply titled Sinatra-Basie: An Historical Musical First, a 1963 release that climbed to the top five on Billboard’s pop album charts over the course of a 42-week run. A year later, It Might As Well Be Swing rose to #13 during a 31-week stretch on the same charts.

On September 6, 2011, Concord Records will reissue both of these recordings in a single collection, Frank Sinatra & Count Basie: The Complete Reprise Studio Recordings. Under license from Frank Sinatra Enterprises (FSE), the 20-song compilation is enhanced via digital restoration and remastering, and includes brand new liner notes from music journalist and historian Bill Dahl that provide historical context for these pivotal recordings. Also included are original anecdotes from Quincy Jones, who produced It Might As Well Be Swing.

“It’s virtually impossible to imagine a more swinging combination than Frank Sinatra — the premier pop vocalist of an adoring generation — and the mighty orchestra of Count Basie,” says Dahl in his liner notes. “Such a scintillating summit meeting actually unfolded not once but twice in the studio. This collection brings together both of these historic album-length collaborations, first out on the label Sinatra founded, Reprise. It’s a thoroughly satisfying soiree.”

Dahl provides background information about the history of Basie’s orchestra in the decades leading up to the two recordings. He also discusses Sinatra’s transition from Capitol to Reprise and the artistic freedom that came with it, as well as Neal Hefti’s arrangements for both albums, Quincy Jones’ production of the latter, and brief annotations of every song in the collection.

“Another memorable collection between the Chairman and the Count would soon be recorded for posterity by Reprise, [with Jones] arranging and conducting 1966’s Sinatra at the Sands,” says Dahl. “But even performing for those hip high rollers in Vegas couldn’t top what Sinatra and Basie accomplished during these two studio collaborations. This was musical history in the making, as fabulously fresh and frisky now as it was back then. Let the swinging commence.”

Dumpstaphunk treated the Highline Ballroom to a surprise double-dose of funk royalty last Wednesday, June 6 as the legendary "Queen of Funk" - Chaka Khan - shared the stage with Ivan Neville's all star New Orleans funk ensemble for the pair's first ever live collaboration. The private performance was for book distributor Publishers Group West (PGW)‘s annual BookExpo America party, which opened the night with a set from Brooklyn funk favorites, the Pimps of Joytime. Chaka Khan was a guest for the invite-only event, and after being spotted in the audience during Dumpstaphunk's headlining set, was invited onstage to sing her 1974 hit “You Got the Love.”The next day, Dumpstaphunk headed to Manchester, TN for the Bonnaroo Music Festival, headlining Friday's late night set in the 'Other Tent' where they phunked fans to old favorites such as "Put It In the Dumpsta" and "Meanwhile..." and debuted two new songs from their forthcoming studio album, Dirty Word. Set for a fall 2012 release, Dirty Word will feature guest appearances by fellow Bonnaroo headliner Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, as well as Trombone Shorty, the Rebirth Brass Band and The Meters' Art Neville.Bonnaroo set list: Friday, June 8 at the Other TentDeeperWaterBlueswave [on new record]Fame / DumptstaEverybody Wants SumOne NationBetty Davis (If I'm in luck) [on new record]Meanwhile...About Dumpstaphunk:Formed during New Orleans' 2003 Jazz and Heritage Festival, Dumpstaphunk has evolved from keyboardist Ivan Neville's chance side-project into what is widely considered to be one of the nation's most prestigious modern funk ensembles. An offspring with a direct lineage to their fathers in The Meters and The Neville Brothers, Dumpstaphunk sets the new standard for an entire genre.Ivan and Ian‚ the sons of Neville Brothers Aaron and Art Neville respectively‚ create a dirty funk that resonates organically from their souls as true kin of the legendary New Orleans family. Ivan sets the keys on fire front and center, playing artfully off of the double bass attack of both Nick Daniels and Tony Hall on bass, with the scorching guitar rhythms of cousin Ian Neville, and the group's newest addition in heavy-hitting female protégé Nikki Glaspie on drums. Whether on stage or in the studio, Dumpstaphunk's members have collectively collaborated with music legends such as The Rolling Stones‚ Etta James and the Funky Meters, as well as modern favorites including Gov't Mule‚ Trey Anastasio, Dave Matthews, Lettuce, Soulive, Slightly Stoopid, Beyoncé, Cee Lo Green and Karl Denson to name a few.Dumpstaphunk's anticipated third full length album, Dirty Word, is set to hit the airwaves in the fall of 2012. Recorded in New Orleans' infamous Music Shed Studios, the ensemble's newest creation will feature appearances by Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Trobone Shorty, Rebirth Brass Band and Art Neville, as Dumpstaphunk collectively pushes the envelope with a progressive funk sound that continues to define the sound of New Orleans

Ben Harper has teamed with renowned harmonica master Charlie Musselwhite to create Get Up!, a piercing song-cycle of struggle and heart, slated for release by Stax Records/Concord Music Group on January 29th, 2013. Recorded in Los Angeles and produced by Harper, Get Up!, is his 12th studio album and first new recording since 2011's Give Till It's Gone (Virgin)."Charlie and I have been looking to make this record for over ten years and now that we've gotten to it," stated Harper, "I can't wait to play it live.""Ben and I really locked in, personally and musically, when we recorded with John Lee Hooker," added Musselwhite. "Ever since then we wanted to record together and being in the studio together is just a natural. You can hear it and feel it in the music on Get Up!"A striking mix of blues, gospel, roots and R&B, Get Up! features ten vivid musical character studies, skillfully rendered in cinematic detail, all written or co-written by Harper. The politics of personal destruction is palpable on the opening track "Don't Look Twice,": "I'm a living nervous habit/I tremble and I twitch/Keep on pulling at me/Like I'm some kind of hanging stitch." Likewise, a convict measures his prizefight with the truth as Harper growls in the title track: "Don't tell me I can't break the law/Cause the law has broken me." Finally, a ghostly soldier awaits his duty but laments the mind-numbing futility of war in the haunting battle hymn "I Ride At Dawn,": "Give a man a hundred years/He'll want a hundred more/Give him a hundred choices/And he still chooses war/From Salem poor to Genghis Kahn/Tomorrow I ride at dawn."Charlie Musselwhite's searing point/counter-point harmonica accentuates Harper's vocals throughout Get Up!, tying its songs together into a cohesive musical whole. The band, including Jason Mozersky, guitar; Jesse Ingalls, bass; Jordan Richardson, drums; along with Ben Harper on vocals, guitar and slide guitar; plays with economical grit, lending the songs true understanding and authority. In 1994, Ben Harper released his first record Welcome to the Cruel World, marking his arrival as singer and songwriter of substance and ambition. Two decades later, an artist in full creative command, he's delivered an inspired work of purity and depth. Get Up!, the new album from Ben Harper with Charlie Musselwhite, is sure to be one of 2013's most essential recordings.

It takes a special kind of musician to bring folk icons like Nina Gerber, David Grisman, and Ramblin' Jack Elliott all together to play on a debut album, but Stan Wells has done just that with his latest release, "High Tide." The story of a lifetime, High Tide spans nearly 4 decades; from songs written in his college days in the ‘70s all the way up to the present, each track is timeless. Wells establishes his credentials to create new American standards from the first seconds of the title track, “High Tide,” which features rich gospel-influenced vocal harmonies and a chorus that begs to be sung to the rafters. Stan is joined by the mournful violin playing of David LaFlamme on “Fantasy Junction,” a tale of lost love, complimented by Nina Gerber (playing none other than Kate Wolfe’s guitar) on the explosive climax of “Cloudburst Suite.” When asked about High Tide, Wells says, "The songs I wrote in my youth about following my dreams and picking myself back up when I got knocked down have proven themselves to be true for me." The road hasn't been an easy one for Wells, and the rawness and gripping honesty come through every song on the record, reminiscent of legendary artists like John Prine, Guy Clark, and Steve Goodman.“Stan Wells’ 'High Tide' is a wonderful example of a singer/songwriter realizing a dream here at Studio E. Stan is finally making the album he’s worked towards for 35 years!” praises Jeff Martin (Studio E), who did an exceptional job mixing and mastering all the tracks on the album. "High Tide" is the culmination of a lifetime of expertly crafted, true to the core songwriting. Discover the album that had folk icons like Nina Gerber and Ramblin' Jack Elliott coming back for more! You can learn more about Stan Wells at http://www.wellperked.com.

Billed as "The greatest concert Pianist that you have probably never heard of", a feature length documentary about the life of William DeVan is being made by filmmaker, Michael Gordon. The feature length documentary titled, “Nothing To Fall Back Upon”, is a real life story about music, passion, dreams and striving to overcome everything in pursuit and against all odds.“What most people don’t know, is that William DeVan grew up dirt poor in the Black Belt of Alabama. Realizing his talent at an early age, William’s mother believed in him so strongly that she sold everything to buy William a piano. It was a decision that not only paid off, but also would soon bring the classical piano world a highly talented artist. By the age of 15, DeVan was selected to perform with the Chicago Symphony under the conductorship of Arthur Fiedler (not a student performance but he was the soloist.) and was also one of only five students accepted to Juilliard the first year he applied. To afford and attend the prestigious school, DeVan moved in and took care of his aging aunt in New Jersey where he washed dishes, cleaned the house and performed multiple other chores in exchange for room and board,” stated Michael Gordon, of Big Fat Monster Films. While life was full of obstacles, it was also full of great accomplishments. DeVan is the only American to take first prize at the Vianna da Motta International Music Competition, where Emmanuel Axe place 3rd in the next edition of the prize. Devan also beat 5 major Russian pianists (reportedly one was shipped off to Siberia after the competition). As a result of the competition DeVan toured Portugal during the Carnation Revolution, which deposed the fascist Dictator Estado Novo. During that time, DeVan was forced to practice in the basement of the American Embassy where he could be protected. In addition to winning numerous awards and appearing in concerts around the globe, DeVan holds the prestigious distinction of being one of twelve “Steinway Presenters” in the world.Through his selflessness, Devan made the choice to share the gift of music with others in an effort to give back to those who couldn't afford to play. In recognition of William DeVan’s extraordinary talent and amazing life, Michael Gordon is determined to share DeVan’s story in his new documentary. “Nothing To Fall Back Upon” traverses multiple countries as it tells the story of world renowned concert pianist William DeVan through the eyes of his students: conductors, composers and socialites. Included are BAFTA award winning composer and owner of Nightbird Studios in Beverly Hills, Jed Leiber; Classical Conductor and Dean of Music at Bard College, James Bagwell; Socialite Patron of the Arts and Fashion Designer Christophe DeMenil; as well as a number of other friends and students of William. The documentary film project is going to be made possible by funding via a crowdfunding campaign on IndieGoGo. Gent Jazz Festival 2014 presents musicians from the new generation on the Garden Stage every day of the festival, while on the main stage a traditional and carefully balanced mix of international top names and recent projects can be heard. Gent Jazz Festival this way offers visitors a broader array of relevant music, both from jazz and from other styles. This year a great many musicians are focusing on musical challenges, such as Chick Corea and Stanley Clarke in an acoustic duo, Mehliana in which Brad Mehldau and Mark Guiliana venture into new musical territory with electronica taking prominence, and the previously announced Bobby McFerrin with his project Spirityouall. Also within the jazz spectrum are Dave Holland with his ‘Prism’, Joshua Redman, Ibrahim Malouf with ‘Illusions’ and the exclusive project with Manu Katché, Richard Bona, Stefano Di Battista and Eric Legnini in the line-up.The younger generation is represented by, among others, Darcy James Argue with his own big-band project Secret Society, pianist Hiromi, Zara McFarlane, Tigran Quintet, trumpeter Avishai Cohen with his ‘Triveni’, the creative singer-songwriter Julia Holter and, as already announced, Plaistow and Kellylee Evans.Gent Jazz Festival offers more than jazz, and with Charles Bradley & his Extraordinaires and José James all in one day, there's already an evening for funk and soul aficionados to look forward to. With none other than Ludovico Einaudi and Ólafur Arnalds, on Thursday 17 July Gent Jazz Festival is exploring more in the direction of minimalistic music, with classical and sound-scape influences.Gent Jazz Festival also consciously opts for a generous selection of what Belgium has to offer. Ben Sluijs is, after a number of years, once again back in action with the brilliant 3/4 Peace, but also LABtrio, Black Flower, De Beren Gieren, young soul talent Delv!s and of course Melanie De Biasio, who has a particularly strong year behind her, should not be missed. Under the name TaxiWars, the cream of our music scene is working on an exclusive creation for Gent Jazz Festival. More details on this to follow later.  On Saturday 19 July, the final day of the festival, under the title GoDeviLLe Remembered the Garden Stage is being dedicated to René De Wever, alias GoDeviLLe, who passed away last year and who closed the festival as DJ in previous years. With the lunch concerts in Lof, the restaurant of artists' hotel Sandton Grand Hotel Reylof Gent, Gent Jazz Festival also has a stage outside the Bijloke site. During the festival, here lunchtime concerts will be held in an intimate setting, featuring among others Linus: Ruben Machtelinckx & Thomas Jillings, Bart Maris & Stijn Bettens, Bram Weijters & Koen Nys, Carlo Nardozza & Michel Bisceglia and Guillaume Vierset, Yannick Peeters & Steven Delannoye. Together with Gent Jazz Festival, this hotel is also offering advantageous combination deals including festival ticket, overnight stay and breakfast.Gent Jazz Festival also provides lively activities in order to encourage young musicians and help them develop. There is Jong Jazztalent Gent, a joint initiative with the Duvel-Moortgat brewery that since last year has supported the winning group in elaborating a project. OakTree last year won the jury over, and can now reveal to the public the results of their year-long hard work on the main stage. Within the collaboration with the HoGent School of Arts, every year a guest musician is asked to devise a coaching project with a group of students from the conservatory. This year Tineke Postma is to intensively guide these musicians toward a joint concert at the festival. The annual Sabam Jazz Awards are also being presented at the Gent Jazz Festival on Thursday 10 July. The three categories are the Established Name, Sabam's Muse and the Sabam Youth and Music Jazz Award. The fact that Gent Jazz Festival takes young people and the future into account is expressed not just in the musical offering; thus this year there are inexpensive youth tickets, with which the festival is hoping to attract more young people. After all, they are the jazz fans of the future. With the new group tickets, the festival is also responding to the social aspect of the festival experience: enjoying the music and the atmosphere together.Gent Jazz Festival (10 – 19 July 2014): www.gentjazz.comTickets Gent Jazz Festival: via gentjazz.com and Fnac.

Railroad Earth bassist Andrew Altman spent some time in the studio with Tom Hamilton (American Babies, JRAD, Phil Lesh) last year and the resulting five song EP is now available in most online outlets. Andrew has contributed a couple songs to the RRE catalog in the past but this is his first collection of all original material with Tom Hamilton handling production duties and performing on the record as well.

A word from Andrew…

“I sent Tom ten songs and told him to pick five, tell me when to play, and when to shut up. We worked off and on about 6 months at Peter Tramo’s studio in Philly, and it was a liberating experience because it put me in the mindset of a session player even though it was my own session. If you trust the person leading it all, as I did with Tom, then it’s perfect because you can drop all the obsessing and doubt that, for me, usually comes with making decisions about your own music. I really feel like the end result is a record and not just a recording of songs.”

From Tom Hamilton…

"Working on the Andrew Altman EP was a blast. Drew and I had been playing together a bit with American Babies and when he mentioned working together on his material in the studio, I was stoked. He has a great ear for melody and form. From the first listen to even the roughest demos, it was clear that Andrew takes the craft seriously. I'm proud to have helped these songs take shape and be a part of Altman's evolution into a solo artist."

CDs are available at RRE shows and Andrew has a special package via his Facebook artist page: Facebook.com/andrewaltmanmusic

Think of Robert Plant and Allison Krauss or Emmylou Harris and Gram Parsons and you get a good idea of where these two Saskatoon singer-songwriters are coming from. They complement one another beautifully as they perform each other's music. John Antoniuk comes from the indie/roots side of life and Jen Lane has a bit more country/folk in her repertoire. Together, they create straight ahead rhythms and harmonies that complete the musical package. They have performed many times on a National stage showcasing at Breakout West, Canadian Music Week, North by Northeast and Prairie Scene, and achieved International recognition at Folk Alliance in Kansas City, MO, South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, and through SaskMusic’s Export Showcase in Los Angeles, CA.

John and Jen have always kept their projects separate, with John working on Smokekiller and the recent more rootsy, eponymous, Always With You; and Jen Lane taking 3 of 4 releases to nominations for Album of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards. It was during their attendance at one of their many showcases that the industry began to buzz with the idea of a full collaboration between the songwriting couple. These ideas led to Jen and John spending some time between individual writing sessions to try to create some songs together. The personal dynamic that is present between John and Jen comes to life in their writing.

The album “Jen & John” is a co-production effort by Jen and John and features 3 new songs written by John, 2 new songs written by Jen, and a couple covers for a special treat. “Oh My Sweet Carolina” by Ryan Adams was the first song the musical couple sang together when they met and began jamming. “Crazy Mama” by J.J. Cale (1972) was recently discovered when John got Jen a record player for Christmas last year and picked up a few old, used records.

With a full tour schedule booked for this summer in Western Canada, you’ll have lots of opportunities to catch Jen Lane and John Antoniuk live, and experience the magic of “Jen & John” for yourself.

During the middle of recording his debut album The Road, John John Brown fell down a 75 foot well and and luckily his acoustic guitar broke his fall. He was literally saved by music. Although much of the "The Road" is still in the vault, Brown's live acoustic performances of the album have been garnering much critical acclaim. In May of last year, he was chosen as a 2015 Kerrville Folk Finalist for the legendary"New Folk" competition, and in January of 2016 he went home a winner of the prestigious South Florida Folk Festival Songwriting Contest. Seeped in good storytelling and fingerpicking melodies, John John Brown seems to have discovered part of the mystery that surrounds the great singer/songwriter tradition. "The Road" is set to be released in the summer of 2016.

Two-time Grammy-winning bassist Oteil Burbridge is announcing a new solo album Water In The Desert. Produced by David Ryan Harris, every track on the record was written by Burbridge and features an all-star cast of some of his favorite musicians including his brother Kofi Burbridge on keys, Dave Yoke on guitar, Lil’ John Roberts, Sean O’Rourke on drums, Miguel Atwood Ferguson on strings and outstanding vocalists Alfreda Gerald and Mark Rivers. Water In The Desert will be released on October 20, 2017.

“I started writing the songs on this record about ten years ago,” said Burbridge. “They are all songs about love in some way; finding out how to love yourself, hoping that another loved one will love you just as you are, believing in someone when they find it hard to believe in themselves, love gone wrong, or finally finding the "perfect fit." I feel like every problem we have on earth in some way comes back to the lack of love. That's really what this record is about."

Burbridge has been in the music business touring and recording for over three decades. His first step into the national spotlight came in 1991 when he became a founding member of the Aquarium Rescue Unit featuring Col. Bruce Hampton, a cult classic that has stood the test of time. That led to his membership in the classic rock group The Allman Brothers Band. Since 1997, his work with the band has earned him two Grammy nominations for best rock instrumental, in 2003 and 2004. Over the years, Burbridge has shared the stage with rock and blues legends such as Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Levon Helm, Taj Mahal, Buddy Guy, Pinetop Perkins, Hubert Sumlin, Billy Gibbons, Chuck Leavell, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Johnny Winter, Bonnie Raitt, Sheryl Crow,  and Trey Anastasio. In 2012, Oteil received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award for his 15-year contribution to the Allman Brothers Band as the longest running bassist in the band’s history.

Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart  joined forces with John Mayer in 2015 to form “Dead & Company” with Burbridge on bass and Jeff Chimenti on keys. The band toured the US in the fall of 2015 and the summer of 2016 and 2017. These tours included sold-out shows at Wrigley Field, Fenway Park, and Citi Field and a headlining spot at Bonnaroo Music Festival. Plans for future Dead & Company shows are underway, including the destination event “Playing in the Sand” in Riviera Maya, Mexico in February 2018.

Phil Rudd is, according to Modern Drummer magazine, "the very definition of rock drumming". Malcolm Young co-founder of AC/DC describes his long term bandmate as “the real deal”. Kenny Aronoff, drummer for John Mellencamp says Phil Rudd is “the rock drummer” and Eric Singer of Kiss sings Rudd’s praises as “the heart and soul of AC/DC”.

The Australian drummer played in several Melbourne bands, such as Buster Brown and the Coloured Balls, before joining up with rock giants AC/DC in 1975. Over the next four years Rudd powered the band to superstardom with his dogged consistency and unshakeable backbeat on classics like 'It’s A Long Way To The Top (If You Want To Rock ’N’ Roll)', 'T.N.T' and 'Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap'. Phil Rudd is an indelible part of AC/DC history.

Rudd, who says he ‘‘went straight down the road to buy my first Ferrari’’ after epic album 'Highway to Hell' went multi-platinum worldwide, has an unselfish drumming style and a humongous groove, earning him the adoration of generations of drummers around the world. Rammstein’s Christoph Schneider said in the October 2010 edition of Modern Drummer, “AC/DC were my absolute heroes because they are simple and easy to copy—though soon you find they are not so easy to copy.” The magazine’s May 2010 issue also chimed in on the timeless rocker with the feature '50 Reasons To Love Phil Rudd'.

The veteran musician has appeared on all but three of AC/DC’s eighteen studio albums, which have sold more than two hundred million copies worldwide.

"You couldn't find a more solid person or drummer than Phil Rudd" said ex-lead AC/DC vocalist Brian Johnson. The former AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd was desperately missed on recent tours, so much so that long standing bassist Cliff Williams is retiring from AC/DC, citing the fact he misses both Phil Rudd and Malcolm Young.

During 2014 Rudd recorded and released his first debut album 'Head Job' with Kiwi musicians Allan Badger and Geoffrey Martin. The album was released by Universal Music Group in Australia and New Zealand with further promotional plans scuppered by Rudd's well publicised legal problems in New Zealand.

"I couldn't be bloody happier with Head Job, to tell you the truth" Phil told Libel Music. "I'm so proud of the album, everything I had to do with it. The guys played really well on it, it's just too good. Really great, mate… I'm pretty happy with the drum sound".

With a home detention sentence behind him, and Phil firmly focused on a positive and healthy lifestyle, he will be visiting the UK and Europe on tour to promote 'Head Job' and new single 'Sun Goes Down'.

“My hell raising days are over” Phil says. "I see a psychiatrist once a week and I'm closer than ever to my children. I still have all my flash all his cars but now I want to grow chillies".

Phil Rudd, now a resident of New Zealand, is renowned for his love of cars, putting his collection to work by showcasing eleven of them in a Christchurch earthquake appeal fundraiser. The exhibition included a rare 1991 Ferrari F40 and a brand new Ferrari 599. Other cars on display included two Lamborghinis, a 2010 Rolls Royce Ghost, 2011 Bentley Mulsanne and Bentley super sport, Audi R8 V10, a 2011 Aston Martin DBS, 2010 Mercedes SLS AMG . The cars have a combined worth of approximately $3m USD. Rudd’s airport hangar is also home to his MD 520N helicopter. The trappings of this Rock and Roll lifestyle are underpinned with a renewed focus on what is most important to Phil these days, his family, friends, music and health

Phil Rudd recently re-signed his long standing drum sponsorship deal with German drum makers Sonor, signalling his determination to develop and record with his new band and continue what is already a remarkable career. He has also signed a new distribution deal with German company SPV.

Leaving Lennox combine elements of pop, folk & country, creating a unique and commercial sound. They are known for their strong harmonies & soulful lead guitar work, creating a modern twist on commercial pop.

The duo, originally from Sydney, Australia, is releasing their third single “Not Ready (To Leave Just Yet)”, written and recorded in Nashville, Tennessee and alike their first two singles, features Aaron Sterling on drums (live drummer for John Mayer), who also co-produced the track.

After a rewarding 2019 of festivals and shows, the band continues to promote their new music at a number of live shows and online shows, around Nashville and surrounding states.

In November, the pair toured their new release at several prestigious Nashville venues, including the “Mockingbird Theater”, alongside Nashville’s own, “The Beasley Brothers” and at the 2019 International Frank Brown Songwriting Festival, where they were chosen as one of 200 international featured songwriters. In December, the pair played at prestigious Nashville venues including The Analog hotel, as part of “The Canaan Cox Christmas Show” and Belcourt Taps.

Although 2020 has looked a little different for the couple, in terms of live performances, it has given them extra time to be creative and finalize some of the music they have been writing for the past couple of years.

“Its funny, we like to co-write with other songwriters and we try to do it as often as we can, but the three singles we have released so far, we are the only two on the credits. I think we are both really proud of that.”. - Lauren.

The duos new single “Not Ready (To Leave Just Yet)”, will be released on August 7th 2020 on all streaming platforms.

“This song definitely shows a softer, more vulnerable side of us and is different to our first two singles. I think we’re both really proud of the lyrical imagery in this song and feel our songwriting has improved tenfold. We’re so excited to share this side of our music with our fans”, says Val.
