"I wrote 'Bearfoot Trains' as a gift to my partner, Andrea" says Bear. "We often hold ourselves back from experiencing the depth of connection and joy that comes with loving someone because we're afraid of getting hurt. But the truth is, love is worth the risk. Sometimes it slaps you in the chest. You’ve got to give yourself over to life and love."
The song was produced by mixing wizard, engineer, and producer Tommy Hazerian at Tommy’s home studio in Portland, OR. It features Aaron Bear's soulful vocals, acoustic guitar, and a lush arrangement of strings, piano, and percussion. Tucker Landis provided that funky bass you’ve been hearing in Bear ’s latest recordings. Bear, a multi-instrumentalist, tracked the drums with Jesse Coutu at The Mixing House in Milford, MA.
Since the new year, Bear has been busy building community in Western Maine. “We decided to get an apartment closer to the trails, lakes, and mountains that we love, '' Bear says. He’s still got a strong footing in the Boston scene and gigs lined up through the summer of 2023. Catch him performing live this year with dates in Massachusetts, Maine, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and more, including Ohmfest Yoga and Music Festival, Bridgton Harvest Moon Fest, and Denmark Arts Center.
