Americana originals Leftover Salmon announce their new album, Something Higher, coming May 4, 2018. With the bands newer members taking more of a lead on songwriting, and Leftover Salmon's continued focus on groove-based song building, the new album has new sounds, new ideas, and a fresh take on the genre.

John Oates has teamed up with a number of accomplished Americana musicians, known as The Good Road Band, to deliver his seventh solo album, Arkansas (Thirty Tigers). Oates is one-half of the best-selling duo of all time, Daryl Hall & John Oates, as well as a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame. 

Longtime Santa Barbara County resident Alan Parsons brought his latest incarnation of The Alan Parsons Project to a full house of adoring fans in the Samala showroom of the Chumash Casino Resort, the last weekend of January. Parsons, a legendary music producer and one of the most potent forces in the progressive rock movement of the 1970’s has only recently returned to more extensive touring.

On March 23, Craft Recordings will release The Thousand Incarnations Of The Rose: American Primitive Guitar and Banjo (1963-1974) on 2LP, CD, and digital. This new compilation celebrates the groundbreaking, inventive approach to traditional instrumentation brought forward by an impressive group of maverick artists whose interpretations of folk, blues, and traditional song gave rise to one of American music's most unique and influential stylistic schools, known today as American Primitive.
