After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, Camp Euforia has announced its final acts playing this summer. Festival hosts and founders Eufórquestra featuring Kim Dawson will play along with many longtime friends including Cornmeal, Chicago Afrobeat Project, Heatbox, Aaron Kamm & The One Drops, and 20+ Midwest acts. The last blast celebration will be held July 14-16, 2022, on the beloved land of Jerry’s Farm in Lone Tree, Iowa.

Expanding his role from handling the guitar and vocal duties in the nationally-touring act Greensky Bluegrass, Dave Bruzza today announces a midwestern tour with his side project ‘Unsafe At Any Speed’. In addition to Bruzza fronting the group, the quintet features Justin Mazer on guitar, Jeremy Darrow on bass, Michael Shimmin on drums, and Matthew Rowland on keyboards.

Eminent Malian guitarist Vieux Farka Touré will release his new album Les Racines via World Circuit Records on June 10; preorder the album HERE. Known as the “Hendrix of the Sahara,” Touré is the son of the late “Desert Blues” pioneer Ali Farka Touré; Les Racines is Touré’s debut album for World Circuit and his first since 2017.

This summer, hallucinatory keyboard wizard Marco Benevento pulls back the curtain on his latest studio effort, simply titled, Benevento. Due June 10 on Royal Potato Family, the 11-track collection presents 40-minutes of small-batch psychedelia, bubbled up from his home studio (Fred Short Studios) at the base of the Catskill Mountains in Woodstock, NY.

Relentless Beats will once again host Deadbeats Arizona as a part of a multi-date Deadbeats tour Friday, April 22, 2022, at Phoenix Raceway in Avondale, AZ, just 20 minutes outside of Downtown Phoenix. Led by local saxophonist Sarah Mount, who hails from the Mile High City, Sarah Mount & the Rushmores have been delivering improv driven hard funk, jazz hop, and neo-soul to the Denver area for the last four years.

The last Friday of each month, they bring original music and unique covers featuring guest artists every show. March features Daniel Steigleder on tenor sax flying all the way in from Germany for the show.

Physically, Christopher Lockett is a fairly big guy who used to work as a bouncer, played sports in his youth, and can be imposing if he wants to.  “No one looks at me and says, “Yeah, that man…clearly a reader,” he jokes.  “You only get that if you get to know me.  Or listen to the songs I’ve written.”

Sometimes, the most unexpected music moments are the ones you'll remember best. This will definitely be the case of my last Friday. Starting off the day, I had no idea I would be at the Fox Theatre in Boulder that night...witnessing the mesmerizing force of nature that is Sierra Ferrell and her band. Full disclosure, I didn't know who Sierra Ferrell was. However, as moments like these tend to happen, that day would have been my deceased father's 76th birthday.

If you haven’t heard the early reports yet, there’s a new all-star psych/jam band making quite a stir with their exploratory shows and streaming events called The Gilmour Project. Yes, “Gilmour,” as in guitarist David Gilmour of Pink Floyd. But nearly the only thing this “project” has in common with their namesake is the same deep well of cosmic-blues-based progressive rock first dug out by the original band.
