To celebrate their 8th year of live rock music in Telluride, The RIDE Festival is once again hosting a variety of new and veteran artists who will each be bringing their own unique brand of high-energy rock and roll to one of the most beautiful music venues on the planet.
The ever evolving and greatly loved Levitate Music Festival is proud to announce the 2019 lineup for its seventh annual music festival happening July 12-14, 2019. Tedeschi Trucks Band, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Nightsweats, and Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, will be joined by Stick Figure, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Sublime with Rome, Michael Franti and Spearhead, SOJA, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Ripe, The Wood Brothers, and many more. From the first time I saw them live at Wakarusa in Ozark Arkansas in 2012, to my most recent show at the City Winery in Boston this past November 2018, I've tried to catch them live whenever possible.
What is certain to be one of the top rock performances of the summer has been announced, with the 2019 edition of the Tail Winds Music Festival. The all-day performance will be held on Saturday, June 29th at The Hudson Valley Regional Airport, in Wappingers Falls, New York (gates open at 11:00am). Headlining the show is Chris Robinson Brotherhood, with additional sets by the likes of Black Stone Cherry, Geoff Tate’s Operation: Mindcrime, King’s X, and Sass Jordan.
Lucinda Williams played the Parker Playhouse in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Saturday night with the Drive-By Truckers. It was actually a triple bill with Erika Wennerstrom of the Austin based Heartless Bastards opening the show with a solo acoustic set. Lucinda Williams, backed by her multi-talented touring band Buick 6, followed with Drive-By Truckers closing out the evening.
This week, members of The Terrapin Family Band are scheduled to perform two back to back nights in New York. On Thursday February 7, TFB members Grahame Lesh, Ross James, Jason Crosby, and Alex Koford will take to NYC’s Brooklyn Bowl to host a tribute to the late songwriter and poet John Perry Barlow. For that show, they will be joined by musicians Jerry and Aishlin Harrison, Elliott Peck, Brian Stollery, and others.
Brandi Carlile will continue her extensive tour through 2019 including a special debut headline performance at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on September 14. Additional stops include Chicago’s Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island, St. Paul’s Minnesota State Fair, Philadelphia’s The Mann and Berkeley’s The Greek Theatre at UC Berkeley among others. Bluegrass royalty, Del McCoury Band, will headline the 15th Aiken Bluegrass Festival on May 10th & 11th in Aiken, SC. The two-time GRAMMY winner, celebrating his 80th birthday this year, is at the top of a bill that brings the three-stage festival back to the roots of bluegrass, while simultaneously celebrating the bright future of the genre.
