Roots duo Allison de Groot & Tatiana Hargreaves have just released an EP of hot outtakes from their critically acclaimed 2022 album, Hurricane Clarice, on Free Dirt Records. Produced by Phil Cook, the album was recorded as if for a live performance, so some of the duo's favorite tunes didn't make the final set, namely these three!

With summer just a few short weeks away once again comes the peak of festival season, and Chicago is diving in head first with Riot Fest, Lollapalooza, and of course Heatwave. The two-day EDM festival’s second year, this time hosted at Northerly Island’s Huntington Bank Pavilion, will feature both new artists and familiar faces on Saturday, June 10th, and Sunday, June 11th. Here is what to expect and how to prepare for this year’s party.

"The songs started with 'Bear.' It was December of 2021, and the news was all about Russia and would Putin invade Ukraine. I had just read a book on the history of dancing bears. White Nationalism was a prominent topic, the flip side being Black Lives Matter. Trump had lost the election but was ramping up his spoiled brat act. I could imagine the gripes Putin, Trump and the White Nationalists had, even if I didn’t agree. I’d also reread some of a favorite book by Rafi Zabor: The Bear Goes Home.

The Junction in Mill Valley is pleased to present Los Angeles-based instrumental supergroup Circles Around the Sun who is set to play the venue’s first outdoor concert of the summer on Wednesday, June 28. The band was initially formed with the purpose of creating music for “Fare Thee Well,” a series of reunion concerts played by the surviving members of the Grateful Dead.
