Classic rock music fans descended on the Greek Theatre located in the hills above Hollywood, Thursday, August 10th, for a show by veteran rockers Steve Miller and Peter Frampton.

The weather was warming and clearing on the last day of the 2017 Rhythms on the Rio Music Festival. Once more there was yoga in the morning by Durango, as well as the special showcase performance by children who had benefited from this festival’s generosity. Rhythms donates the proceeds of this festival to the children’s music program in the region that not only provides instruction but instruments.

Celebrating twelve years, this festival continues to provide some of the best acts in the region and some amazing full touring bands. This year’s campground was huge, with quiet tent camping, a rowdier camping area, and an RV park—all along the beautiful Rio Grande. There were also activities for children in the Kid Zone, this year marked by huge tipis that were constructed on the site. An art area sprung up by the Beach, a sandy area where a few people launched floats or played in the bracing water.

Slightly Stoopid have raised over $20,000 for charity through a successful artwork auction. The hand painted stills, which were turned into a music video for the band’s latest single “One Bright Day”, caught the attention of fans worldwide as well as Hard Rock International. Proceeds from the auction will benefit The Global BrightLight Foundation (GBL), a nonprofit that provides affordable solar energy solutions to rural and impoverished communities globally.

Today, acclaimed New Orleans-based future funk collective Naughty Professor released the live studio video for “Venison Poetry,” off of their new album, Identity.  “Venison Poetry”  features percussion virtuoso Mike Dillon (Les Claypool’s Fancy Band, Primus, Garage A Trois, Dean Ween Band, et al) on vibraphones and progressive jazz guitarist Cliff Hines (Cliff Hines Band). Naughty Professor is currently on an extensive album release tour, with dates upcoming in Boulder, Denver, Brooklyn, Boston and more.

With themes both contemplative and joyous, the 12- song collection encapsulates the seasoned Saskatchewan singer/songwriter’s experiences of playing over 200 shows around the world since the release of his previous album, 2015’s North Star Falling.

Absorb and MOKB Presents today announced details regarding single day tickets, single day lineups and additional artists for the 2017 Fountain Square Music Festival (FSMF). The event will feature a fantastic new creative direction and immersive music festival experience in Indianapolis’ historic Fountain Square neighborhood on Friday and Saturday, October 6-7, 2017. The total lineup for FSMF now features performances from over 60 cutting-edge artists on five stages.

At a recent press conference before media reps and their children as special guests, world renowned entertainer Dolly Parton announced the release of I Believe In You, her first album written and recorded for kids and those young at heart. A digital release of the new album on Dolly Records/RCA Nashville will be available September 29, whereas the physical album will street worldwide on October 13. All 14 tracks on I Believe In You were written and performed by Dolly Parton.
