As we approach the second anniversary of the slaying of Trayvon Martin there are still a lot of challenges to face in regards to the search for Justice and Equality.Only recently, we have witnessed the shenanigans of how justice was served in the Jordon Davis trial, where a black teenager was provoked unnecessarily to his death. We ask ourselves how many other circumstances that run parallel to these two cases, throughout, and have never seen the light of day when it comes to national and international publicity.Yes, racism is still alive and kicking.

Grammy-winning reggae band Steel Pulse has released Put Your Hoodies On [4 Trayvon], a song dedicated to Trayvon Martin. Composed by lead singer David “Dread” Hinds, the song was released during the trial of George Zimmerman and is available as a free download here. “The song is a plea for justice,” says Hinds. "Steel Pulse has been campaigning and watching this case since February 26th 2012.

This year marked 25th Anniversary of the Reggae on the Rocks and you couldn't ask for a better day for it to be held on. The weather was a comfortable 70 degrees during the afternoon and cooled down perfectly that night.
All good things must come to an end. Right? So they say. And Sunday, July 22nd was the last of the four-day 17th Annual Gathering of the Vibes Festival held in Bridgeport’s lovely Seaside Park off of the Long Island Sound. The festival this year was peaceful, safe, and rowdy at the right times. All of the vendors, food and merchandise were a pleasure to meet and deal with.
Shout out to the Vibe Tribe out there for Dylan Muhlberg. This year I have the distinct pleasure of covering the 17th annual Gathering of the Vibes festival, which is celebrating its eighth year in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Bridgeport is a diverse city on the Connecticut shoreline off of the Long Island Sound. The venue, Seaside Park, has hosted the Gathering all these years and by all counts is an incredible site.
