The String Cheese Incident
For The String Cheese Incident’s Michael Kang, another fall tour is on the horizon and things are looking brighter than ever for the nearly 20-year veteran. After all, the eclectic six-piece jam band just finished up yet another action-packed stretch filled with headlining spots at some of the summer’s biggest festivals, a spectacular three-night Red Rocks run, as well as purchasing a brand-new studio space to master some of their upcoming tracks.
With a wealth of live concerts under their belt since the late 90s it was nice to finally see The String Cheese Incident release an archival show a few years back entitled Rhythm of the Road Volume 1; a smoking complete performance from the Tabernacle in Atlanta from the winter of 2000. That was a fantastic release but fans have been left wondering if they were ever going to hear more.
In what has been one of their most prolific years in recent memory, The String Cheese Incident will kick off their 2015 Fall Tour in the Midwest October 14th and 15th with a two-night stand at the Skyway Theater in Minneapolis, marking their first return to the Twin Cities in nearly 13 years.
For the third year, Silver Wrapper and Purple Hat Productions are bringing back The String Cheese Incident to The Spirit of Suwannee Music Park for their Hulaween Celebration.
There is a place filled with nothing but greatness, where virtuous vibes fly like the swallows of Capistrano, and magical music frees the spirit to glide up her own personal stairway to heaven. There is a place where heady humans come to swim together in a sea of awesomeness with kindness in their hearts and love in their souls.
Multi-instrumentalist Michael Travis is no stranger to taking music to new places. As one of the core founders of The String Cheese Incident, Michael and the gang have morphed from a primarily bluegrass-based ensemble to an ever-shifting, genre-bending circus of sound that continues to grow. Additionally, his electronic group EOTO (w/ Jason Hann), which began as a liquid downtempo duo, has grown into a force to be reckoned with in the electronic realm.
The String Cheese Incident announced their fall headline tour today. They will play several Incidents beginning with two nights in Minneapolis on October 14. They will also play Milwaukee, Detroit, Columbus, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Boston and finally New York where they will play two nights at the Theater at Madison Square Garden.
Never miss a Sunday show is a phrase everyone should know. Celebrating their 31st Red Rocks show The String Cheese Incident finished off a great weekend with a Sunday night show. Joined by Nahko and Medicine for the People, Sunday was hot, bright and full of energy. The show was blessed by a traditional Native American prayer that simply reminded us to love the earth and love one another.
In French the phrase “Je ne sais quoi” means an inexpressible something, a little something extra or a quality that eludes description. With over 20 years of touring under their belt The String Cheese Incident brings that “je ne sais quoi” to their live shows. Whether it be a cover, a special jam or a sit-in, String Cheese always adds that little indescribable element to each show to ensure a unique experience.
Electric Forest is amazing. It inspires plenty to say but I am going to keep it short. This festival is unapologetically immature. Nanny Nanny Boo Boo. This is the festival of the future with freaks, geeks, and oh my! Kids. Or Kidz as we used to call em in my day. They are lude, crude, young, and full of piss and vinegar. Yes.
