Grace Potter

Whither Grace Potter? After more than a decade of constant touring, the Vermont-based rock n’ roller has been all but absent from the stage for the last year. She returned this weekend to host Grand Point North, the annual mini-festival on the waterfront in Burlington, VT, that was started in 2011 when her calling card read Grace Potter and the Nocturnals.

Grand Point North, the music festival presented by Grace Potter and Higher Ground at Burlington’s Waterfront Park on September 16 and 17, released set times for the festival today.

Grand Point North offers music on two side-by-side stages with alternating performances, enabling festivals goers to catch every note. The opening bands are hand-picked by Grace and are always an amazing addition to the headline talent. Set times are as follows:

Saturday, September 16 – Gates open at 3:00PM

Grammy-nominated musician Grace Potter announced today the lineup for the 2017 Grand Point North music festival. Scott Tournet’s new ensemble of psychedelic cowboys, Elektric Voodoo, has released an ambitious self-titled debut album that evokes the cinema of the American West through a cosmic lens.

This was my fourth Grand Point North festival on the Burlington waterfront. However, it was my first dancing with Grace Potter in the photo pit.

HeadCount, a non-partisan, non-profit organization that stages voter registration drives at concerts, announced that it is throwing a pair of invitation-only music events at the Presidential nominating conventions.

Billboard and GRAMMYs on the HIll® are the lead sponsors of the events.

In Cleveland on July 18th at the House of Blues, Nashville-TN based Moon Taxi will perform at the “HeadCount Convention Jam,” on the first scheduled day of the Republican National Convention.

Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, long known for their rock’em sock’em live shows, are the latest group to tap into their vast vault of concert recordings for official release. They launched the series, dubbed Vaulturnal, with the release of a complete headlining show recorded at the Tanglewood Music Center in Lenox, MA on the night of Aug. 19, 2013.

I’m searching for phrases to describe Phases of the Moon Music & Art Festival.  It began as a dark side of the moon, but that was just a phase.  As an audience, our hackles were already up, howling at the moon before the weekend ever arrived.  Through no fault of the Phases organizers, RatDog had to cancel their appearance.  Bobby Weir’s lightening is lazy.

Near capacity crowds flocked to Waterfront Park in Burlington, Vermont on September 13th and 14th for the 4th annual Grand Point North Music Festival presented by Grace Potter & The Nocturnals. Grand Point North Festival featured two full days of continuous music on side-by-side stages along with Grand Point Local, a celebration of local restaurants and food purveyors, and Grand Point Weird,  the artistic component to the festival curated by Charlotte Potter.
