Voodoo Dead continued their tradition of playing late night shows during the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, with a two-night run at Republic NOLA on Saturday, May 4th and Sunday, May 5th. Special guest Brandon "Taz” Niederauer joined the all-star band on guitar Saturday as fans enjoyed a rockin’ two-set show that kept the music going well into Sunday morning.

It’s not often that venerable guitarist, composer, and bandleader Steve Kimock appeases his hugely loyal fanbase by giving into song requests. Not that Steve overlooks the folks who’ve gone to every damn show since the days of his heralded archetypal band Zero, but for the veteran artist, music is ever-evolving and never about looking backward or forwards.

Dead & Company and Playing in the Sand promoter CID Entertainment donated $75,000 to various local charities in Mexico.

Want to come see Dead & Company in Mexico? Just donate $10 or more to Headcount, REVERB, and other Dead Family Orgs, and you could win a trip to Mexico to see the band at the sold-out "Playing In the Sand" Experience! AND if you donate in the next 24 hours, you’ll also be entered to win a James Perse surfboard signed by the band!

VOODOO DEAD is coming to Colorado for the first time in November including a show at The Fox Theatre in Boulder November 11th. The powerhouse line-up features Steve Kimock with Oteil Burbridge, Jeff Chimenti & John Kimock.

Inspired by Grateful Dead music with the spirit of New Orleans and American roots music, the band embodies a celebratory vibe with a depth of improvisation and breath that sets it apart. In 2015, Voodoo Dead debuted at the NOLA Jazz Festival as a super group with Steve Kimock, Bill Kreutzmann, Jeff Chimenti, Dave Schools, and Keller Williams.

Folsom Field – For decades, the venue has been a legendary haven for Deadheads dating back to the early 1970’s. While the Dead had played numerous shows in the Colorado area before, including the Miller Ballroom at CU in ’69, and two acoustic shows in ’70 at the Mammoth Garden (now the Fillmore), nothing quite sparked the interest of the Grateful Dead in the Centennial State quite like the legendary 1972 performance at Folsom Field in Boulder.

With a few nights off and a first-time tour stop for the band, anticipation was high for Dead & Company’s performance in the Duke City, and Albuquerque’s Isleta Amphitheater was to play host to the night’s festivities. Being the smallest venue of the tour, it was surprising that by Wednesday, ticket sales had just barely reached 10,000, and the virtual secondary market was showing multiple signs of over-purchasing.
