Legendary Israeli psytrance duo Infected Mushroom today have revealed the latest addition to their forthcoming ‘IM25’ album, with a rocktronic rendition of Alannah Myles’ 1989 classic song, “Black Velvet.” Featuring fellow Israeli singer-songwriter Ninet Tayeb, the trio have transformed the #1 original into a glitchy synth-driven remake with amplified guitar chords and sultry vocals.

The past two years have been pretty strange for all of us, but particularly so for Dave Brandwein, co-founder of powerfunk band Turkuaz. After 10 steady years of touring as festival mainstays, the band suddenly splintered while on the road with Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew, marking the 40-year anniversary of the Talking Heads’ classic Remain in Light album. Amidst a pandemic-induced shutdown, the dissolution of his marriage, and a stint in rehab, Brandwein moved from Brooklyn, NY, to Los Angeles, California, to pick up the pieces.

The inaugural TidalWave Music Festival hosted a capacity audience this past weekend. The three-day beachfront “Roar On The Shore" took place on the Atlantic City Beach in New Jersey with headliners Luke Bryan, Morgan Wallen and Dierks Bentley helping establish the festival’s first year. TidalWave partnered with Rock The Ocean to help generate awareness and raise funds for ocean conservation. While onsite fans could visit the festival’s “Conservation Village” offering interactive activities and opportunities to learn how fans can help save the oceans.
