Victor Wooten Band live @ the Boulder Theater

Anyone that knows anything about soul music knows that it’s not a genre or a categorization, but a feeling. Sometimes Rhythm and Blues, Motown, or Funk will all get associated with soul music, but usually isn’t a defining element of a specific sound or mode of playing. It is what it describes: coming from the soul. So when you take an artist like Victor Wooten, soul would not be the first “buzz word” that comes to mind.

With a career spanning over half a century, it’s difficult to conceive of a musician treating an audience to tunes that sound nothing but fresh.  However, Mr.

Drop the Lime | 'Enter The Night' | New Music Review

With a thick bass line and a dance club worthy beat (sans the cheesy lyrics and pop atmosphere), Drop the Lime created a deep and dark sensual album. DJ Luca Venezia is the New York City-based singer-songwriter and producer. His deep voice resonates throughout the album bringing each sound together into this wonderful collection of songs.

Cosmo Jarvis | Think Bigger | New Music Review

Looking for a jazzy and snazzy indie sound with catchy lyrics and catchier guitar licks? Look no further than Cosmo Jarvis’s Think Bigger. Relaxing, catchy, and a flawless voice—Cosmo Jarvis is just what the doctor prescribed. He has an acoustic sound with vocals kind of like Jack Johnson meets Mat Kearney.

Eternal Summers | Correct Behavior | New CD Review

Correct Behavior is the second album from Eternal Summers. It has a sort of punk-indie feel to it. Despite the dreamy hip sound, it is laden with electric guitars and spunky sounding vocals. In fact, it’s a bit reminiscent of the 80’s.

Multi-faceted artist Keller Williams is constantly surprising his fan base with a dizzying array of new releases and unique projects.  He started his career as a one-man band and has gradually over the years become more of a bandleader, directing such excellent endeavors like The Keller Williams Incident, Keller and the WMDs, Kdubalicious, etc.

Del and Dawg | Hardcore Bluegrass in the Dawg House | Review

For all of you many hardcore bluegrass fans out there, now more than ever is the time to sink your teeth into archival material from your favorite artists. More and more releases keep popping up, both in-studio sessions and live performances. It seems like the bluegrass community values the live-performance aspect of the form, and wants the luster of the instrumentation to be given proper representation.

Karl Denson's Tiny Universe's Beastie Boys Tribute Show

As a child of the eighties and a huge fan of all of Karl Denson’s projects, this show was a must see for me.
