Rhiannon Giddens’ 2022 will include the publication of her first book, the long-awaited debut of her opera, and a tour with the Nashville ballet. All on the heels of two GRAMMY nominations for her 2021 album release, They’re Calling Me Home (Nonesuch) and her opera debut as Bess in the Greensboro Opera’s rendition of Porgy and Bess which is Giddens’ first professional opera at the age of 44, and her first return to the operatic stage after 18 years.

Yacht Rock Revue is hitting the road for a 2022 U.S. Tour criss-crossing the nation for 36 dates over the spring and summer that’s sure to leave an inoffensive amount of smooth in its wake. From New York City to Los Angeles and pretty much everywhere in between, the 9-piece ensemble will bring their buoyant take on ‘70s and ‘80s soft rock to the masses on a new scale. According to Entertainment Weekly, their shows are "unabashedly joyous affairs."

On January 21, five-time GRAMMY winner Keb’ Mo’ released his new full-length Good To Be via Rounder Records. The album debuted atop multiple Billboard Charts: #1 on the Blues Album chart, #5 on the Americana/Folk chart, and #11 on the Heatseekers Chart. Over the weekend, Mo’ spoke with Weekend Edition about the new album.

After wrapping a 50+ date tour across America with Tejon Street Corner Thieves, Amigo The Devil will return to the stage Saturday, February 5th for special global livestream event dubbed, "Murder at the Belasco". The event will mark the first time Amigo has ever played with a full live band in concert.

The Mimi Fishman Foundation just launched their first auction of 2022.  This time around it’s a Phish signed poster charity auction featuring 2021 Fall tour show posters.  All posters are numbered and signed by the band.  Bidding ends February 24.

Call up the band members and tell them to start practicing! We just opened the registration for the John Hartford Memorial Band Contest. Registration will remain open until 11:59pm ET on February 28th. Judges will narrow down the qualified entries to a maximum of up to 12 finalist bands to compete live at the 2022 JHMF. Final contestants will be notified via email by Monday, March 7th.

Dave Matthews Band has announced its 2022 North American summer tour.  The extensive outing will kick off on May 11 at the recently-opened Moody Center at The University of Texas in Austin, TX. The band will return to Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, WI for a pair of shows July 2 and 3.  Additional two-night stands include West Palm Beach, FL; Noblesville, IN; Saratoga Springs, NY; Gilford, NH; Camden, NJ; Denver, CO and Los Angeles, CA.

Grateful Shred has announced a new and extensive run of spring tour dates entitled, Go East III, in commemoration of the Los Angeles-based band’s third proper tour to the East Coast. The 21-date cosmic trek kicks off on April 22 in Ventura, California and goes east from there, hitting Tempe, Boulder, Denver, Cleveland, Philadelphia and more, before it lands at the Brooklyn Bowl, Brooklyn, NY, for a three-night-stand on May 6, 7 and 8.

Devon Allman and Samantha Fish are thrilled to announce a co-headlining spring tour. The tour kicks off on March 3 in Kent, OH and will travel through the east coast for 19 dates wrapping up on March 26 in Hopewell, VA.

Maryland jam funk quartet Pigeons Playing Ping Pong debut a never-before-heard single from their forthcoming studio project, Perspective. “Elephante,” an infectious dance groove, is the first single off of the album set for release on April 8th. Combining PPPP’s signature catchy songwriting and flair for jocularity, the hard-hitting groove features a jumbo horn line from Nashville funk collective Here Come The Mummies, who previously appeared on PPPP’s 2020 single “King Kong.”
