Sometimes I find it truly incredible how different each festival is. Sure, when you poke around in different genres you’re going to have a different vibe, but even within the realm of strings and grass, you’ll find the good and you’ll find the bad. Northwest String Summit at Horning’s Hideout in Oregon doesn’t exactly make it into either category. I think it stands alone in the “this is the most amazing, beautiful, compelling, warming, etc.
Planning is underway for Yonder Mountain String Band’s 8th annual Harvest Festival, set to take place at the majestic Mulberry Mountain from October 17-19th in Ozark, Arkansas.
Fans are still buzzing about the 2013 Bunbury Music Festival that was held in Cincinnati, OH July 12-14. The second annual Bunbury Music Festival hosted well over 60,000 attendees and saw nearly 80 live performances on 6 different stages from bands including Fun., MGMT, The National and more.According to Councilman P.G. Sittenfeld, the success of the festival has a positive impact on Cincinnati’s atmosphere as well as its economy. On July 11th-15th over 15,000 festival goers gathered for Lightning in a Bottle music and arts festival at Lake Skinner County Park in Temecula, CA. The festival was a huge success in its first year at the beautiful new site. The festival focuses on sustainability, conscious living workshops and the arts of all kinds, as well as top-notch musical acts across a wide variety of genres.The event is hosted by The Do LaB, a Los Angeles based event production company, who pride themselves on creating a unique experience beyond just attending a music festival.
Judging by the weather in San Francisco over the past few weeks, Outside Lands 2013 might be even chillier and grayer than it was last year.
