Due to unforeseen circumstances, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead will not perform at this year’s sold-out Suwannee Hulaween, taking place Thursday, October 28 until Sunday, October 31 at Spirit of Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL. Instead, Hulaween veterans Umphrey’s McGee will fill the headlining slot with their vivacious, experimental blend of rock, metal, funk, jazz, blues, reggae, electronic, folk and more.

Bringing over 100 of the most diverse live and electronic acts to Spirit of Suwannee Music Park, the sold-out Hulaween 2021 marks a triumphant return for the festival. Since its inception in 2013, the Halloween-themed festival has evolved into one of the country’s leading cross-genre festivals.

Attendees can view the festival set times on Hulaween’s social media accounts and the festival app, available on the App Store and Google Play. All set times are subject to change.

For the eighth edition of the festival, Hulaween welcomes host band The String Cheese Incident for three nights of unrivaled bluegrass-focused jamming along with headliners Skrillex, My Morning Jacket, Leon Bridges, Khruangbin, Zeds Dead (Deadbeats Takeover), Umphrey's McGee, and Greensky Bluegrass. Hulaween offers attendees five different stages for dancing: The Meadow Stage, The Hallows Stage, Amphitheater Stage, Spirit Lake Stage, and Campground Stage.

Hulaween 2021 will bring highly sought-after acts to The Meadow Stage, where headliners The String Cheese Incident and Skrillex will close out Friday evening following live performances from Dumpstaphunk and Raquel Rodriguez throughout the day. On Saturday, The Meadow Stage presents live performances from Magnolia Boulevard followed by headliners The String Cheese Incident and My Morning Jacket. On the final day at The Meadow Stage, Hulaween attendees will dance the night away on Halloween with live performances from Sierra Hull and headliners The String Cheese Incident and Khruangbin.

Starting the weekend off strong, The newly-positioned Hallows Stage opens on Thursday, October 28 for DJ sets from LSDREAM, Deathpact, GG Magree, Wreckno, and headliners Zeds Dead for their Deadbeats takeover. On Friday, The Hallows Stage presents jam bands Tank and The Bangas, Russell Batiste & Friends, and West End Blend before evening DJ sets from Bonobo and Chris Lake. The Hallows Stage party continues on Saturday with live performances from Durand Jones & The Indications, Cautious Clay, Bedouine, Someday Honey, and headliner Leon Bridges. For the final day of Hulaween, The Hallows Stage will be home to special performances from Jungle, Turkuaz / Remain In Light, and Maggie Rose.

The spirit of Suwannee Hulaween burns bright on The Amphitheater Stage, opening Thursday for live performances from Kyle Hollingsworth Band and headliners Umphrey's McGee and Greensky Bluegrass. On Friday, attendees can catch a mix of DJ sets and live performances from Lettuce, Manic Focus, The Floozies, and Daily Bread while Saturday’s lineup features a hip-hop edge with performers Cordae, Earthgang, Masego, The Original Nth Power, and Little Stranger. For Halloween night, Hulaween transforms The Amphitheater Stage into a hub for dreamy music with performers Lane 8, Surf Mesa, EVAN GIIA, and Lamorn.

For those who march to the beat of their own drum, unique sounds and styles are in store at the Spirit Lake Stage, featuring Thursday performances from Lotus, SunSquabi, Break Science, LeSpecial, and S.P.O.R.E. On Friday, Spirit Lake features a stacked lineup of genre-bending acts: Grass Is Dead, Neal Francis, Krasno & The Assembly, Magic CIty Hippies, Celisse, and Tand will bring their unique sounds to the stage. Attendees can dance their entire Saturday away at Spirit Lake with DJ sets from Claude VonStroke, Mark Farina, LP Giobbi, Nala, BIICLA, MZG, and Booty Boo b2b VladTheInhaler followed by a late-night live performance from the Jon Stickley Trio. To close out the weekend, Hulaween invites Mersiv, Mize, VEIL b2b NotLö, and Levitation Jones to Spirit Lake followed by a final performance from Roosevelt Collier.

Funk and blues are the heart and soul of the Campground Stage, where acts Joe Marcinek Band, Anthill Cinema, Honey Hounds, Stick Martin and Jon Ditty, Oxford Noland, and Grandpa Da Gambler will perform the first day of Hulaween. Friday at the Campground Stage offers more extraordinary live performances from Kamani, Flipturn, Greenhouse Lounge, The Fritz, The Reality, and Shine and The Shakers while Saturday brings Funk You, Rohan Solo, Honey Island Swamp Band, Nerf The World, Revival, and Astro to the stage. For the celebratory final day of Hulaween, the endlessly exciting Dr. Bacon, Tire Fire, JGBCB, Lesibu Grand, Grandpa Da Gambler, and GoldenEra will close out the Campground Stage for the weekend.

New York-bred synth-rock band Jimkata has been pairing playful, buoyant melodies with weighty, emotive lyrics since its members - three lifelong friends - formed the project in 2005. The group notched nationwide festival performances and released a series of critically-acclaimed studio albums before taking a hiatus in 2017.

Four years later, the three-piece reemerged last summer with a renewed sense of purpose and unveiled their galvanizing new album Bonfires. The 10-track LP found the evolved trio stretching their boundaries with bold, intoxicating arrangements fueled by swirling synthesizers and anthemic hooks.

Now, Jimkata is ready to showcase Bonfires on a 8-date tour with stops in cities like Los Angeles, Denver, San Diego and Boulder before landing in Tucson for their debut Gem & Jam Festival performance. With a sense of rejuvenation coursing through the air, Jimkata fans can expect an uplifting and liberatory live show as the band celebrates the success of their new album and the unbounded joy of a comeback tour.

Bonfires is a bracingly original collection of dance floor-ready records that simultaneously feel modern yet classic, blurring the lines between the organic and the electronic as they reckon with doubt, struggle, and perseverance in a search for truth and meaning.

Each Bonfires track released alongside its own captivating music video, further depicting Jimkata’s newfound sense of freedom and unrestrained creativity. Fan reception has been heartwarming; with the album boasting 500,000+ combined streams, and the “Bonfires” music video garnering 100,000+ views, the troika has been delighted to reconnect with fans through the healing power of music.

The band performed their first show in over four years last summer at the Finger Lakes Grassroots Festival, marking Jimkata's largest non-festival performance ever and drawing 1200+ fans.

For a group of childhood best friends who have been playing together since their university days at Ithaca College, that sense of salvation has only brought them closer together—and produced some of the best music Jimkata has ever written.

Grab your tickets to see Jimkata on tour this winter, and witness the band’s effervescent chemistry for yourself. Tickets on sale now at https://jimkata.com/tour/

To trace the lineage of numerous popular American genres, one only has to turn to the musical history of Chicago and absorb the city’s legacy as a cultural hub of jazz, blues, and rock n’ roll. Now, in honor of The Windy City’s rich background for diverse artistic innovation comes a first-of-its-kind music festival: SACRED ROSE. Organized by the same industry heavyweights who founded North Coast Music Festival, Summer Camp Music Festival, and Suwannee Hulaween, SACRED ROSE will take root at SeatGeek Stadium on August 26 - 28, 2022.

The astoundingly eclectic lineup, a blooming love-letter to the sweet sounds of Americana, Psych-rock, Jam, Indie, Soul, Funk and Bluegrass, will cater towards music heads who crave live performance mastery, with headliners such as Phil Lesh & Friends, Khruangbin, The War On Drugs, Black Pumas, Umphrey’s McGee, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Goose, STS9, Greensky Bluegrass, Kamasi Washington, Animal Collective, Margo Price, and many more.  Tickets will go on sale Monday, March 21 at noon CST.

Look for SACRED ROSE to host three genre-specific stages, with each daily lineup meticulously curated to feel like its own full-length concert. Going against the grain of every other festival announcement, starting Friday, March 18, head to SACRED ROSE’s website, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for daily reveals of stage lineups and set times before tickets sales begin on Monday, March 21 at noon CST. Even further to break the traditional festival mold, SACRED ROSE will sell both full weekend and single-day passes on day one.

Pioneering a new frontier of experiential fan transparency, SACRED ROSE believes that fans deserve to know what they’re signing up for. The nascent festival wants #RoseBuds to choose their own musical adventure; psych-rock purists, jam fanatics or Americana devotees can buy single-day tickets to groove at their preferred genre’s stage, while those seeking sonic discovery can spend the weekend careening between a spectrum of sounds and stages. By unveiling full set times and offering both weekend and single day passes, SACRED ROSE’s mission of experiential fan transparency puts the power back in  attendees’ hands to design their own optimal festival experience.

That fan-first foresight stems from SACRED ROSE’s organizers’ decades of experience producing, booking and throwing events across Chicago as well as founding festivals like North Coast, Hulaween, and Summer Camp. Having relocated North Coast to SeatGeek Stadium Campus in 2021 following the venue’s impressive renovation, SACRED ROSE’s organizers know exactly how to execute a successful festival on its own home field. Revelers will bask in the comfort of the Campus’ seven new astro turf fields as they saunter across the sprawling festival grounds and explore large-scale, interactive art installations.

SACRED ROSE is about the love of music, inspired by the halcyon days of the 60s counterculture concerts and playful hippie spirit. The name pays homage to both SACRED ROSE founder Michael Berg’s own professional pianist Grandfather, who instilled his love of music at a young age, and The Grateful Dead, who were the progenitors of this culture; SACRED ROSE will feature performances by the group’s founding member Phil Lesh, as well as the Lesh’s collaborator Joe Russo in his Grateful Dead cover band Joe Russo’s Almost Dead.

“In 2018 when we shifted North Coast from a multi-genre festival to a fully electronic music event, we started dreaming up SACRED ROSE and what it could mean for fans of Americana, Psych-rock, Jam, Indie, Soul, Funk and Bluegrass,” SACRED ROSE Founder Michael Berg says.“SACRED ROSE is the first festival of its kind in our area, and we’re so proud to deliver a special experience for our fans who have been patiently waiting for a lineup like this for a long time.”

SACRED ROSE will make its revolutionary debut at Chicagoland’s SeatGeek Stadium Campus from Friday, August 26 - Sunday, August 28, 2022, combining genre-bending lineups with experiential fan transparency for a first-of-its-kind festival experience.

A blooming love-letter to the sweet sounds of Americana, Psych-rock, Jam, Indie, Soul, Funk and Bluegrass, SACRED ROSE boasts an eclectic array of headliners such as Phil Lesh & Friends, Khruangbin, The War On Drugs, Black Pumas, Umphrey’s McGee, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Goose, STS9, Greensky Bluegrass, Kamasi Washington, Animal Collective, Margo Price, and many more.

SACRED ROSE will host three stages - The Canopy, The Vega, and The Dreamfield - with each daily stage lineup meticulously curated to feel like its own full-length, genre-specific concert. Pioneering a new frontier of experiential fan transparency, SACRED ROSE unveiled full set times before tickets sales began today because the festival organizers believe fans deserve to know exactly what they’re buying.

The nascent festival wants #RoseBuds to choose their own musical adventure; psych-rock purists or Americana devotees can buy single-day tickets to groove through their favorite genres, while those seeking sonic discovery can spend the weekend careening between a spectrum of sounds and stages. By unveiling full set times and offering both weekend and single day passes, SACRED ROSE’s mission of experiential fan transparency puts the power back in attendees’ hands to design their own optimal festival experience.

Similarly, SACRED ROSE bids farewell to the antiquated festival model of restricting jam bands to hour-long performances and forcing them to squeeze out their hits. Instead, extended sets ranging from 75 minutes to three hours will welcome exploratory, improvisational performances that showcase deep catalog cuts and soaring experimentation.

The Canopy will kick off with a marathon of rock, folk and bluegrass, headlined by legendary Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh and his Phil Lesh & Friends band, Grammy-winning country-classical five-piece Punch Brothers and indie-folk singer-songwriter City and Colour. On Saturday, The Canopy will flip to jamtronica heaven, headlined by renowned dance-infused psychedelic jam group STS9 and prominent livetronica outfit The Disco Biscuits. Sunday on The Canopy will close out with a live instrumentation mastery exhibition, headlined by Lesh’s collaborator Joe Russo in his Grateful Dead cover band Joe Russo’s Almost Dead and crunchy LA folk-rock group Dawes.

At The Vega, psych-rock fans will revel in Friday’s headlining performances by Grammy-winning 7-piece The War On Drugs, avant psychedelic-pop outfit Animal Collective, and experimental psychedelic pop and electronic artist Yves Tumor. Saturday’s lineup at The Vega will be a jam band masterclass, headlined by rock-fueled jam sextet Umphrey’s McGee and electronic-jam crossover quintet Lotus. The Vega will close on Sunday with a smattering of celebrated contemporary bands, headlined by psychedelia-tinged world music trio Khruangbin, modern jazz-master Kamasi Washington, and Australian funk/neo-soul outfit Hiatus Kaiyote.

The Dreamfield’s soulful, funktastic Friday will be headlined by psychedelic-soul duo Black Pumas, eight-piece modern soul outfit St. Paul and The Broken Bones, and Boston-bred funk-fusion group Lettuce. Saturday on The Dreamfield will be a clinic of jam-focused groovage, headlined by indie-jam five piece Goose, Grammy-nominated singer and multi-instrumentalist Cory Wong, and Nashville indie-jam band Moon Taxi. The Dreamfield Stage’s Sunday roster will be a bluegrass and blues bonanza, headlined by Michigan-bred five-piece Greensky Bluegrass, modern soul outfit blues-revival group The Wood Brothers, and Grammy-winning bluegrass band The Infamous Stringdusters Feat. Molly Tuttle.

SACRED ROSE’s Artist At Large, the Grammy-nominated, Nashville-based singer-songwriter Margo Price, will perform impromptu sit-ins alongside multiple acts throughout the weekend.

SACRED ROSE’s fan-first foresight stems from the festival organizers’ decades of experience producing, booking and throwing events across Chicago as well as founding festivals like North Coast, Hulaween, and Summer Camp.

Shape-shifting producer and multi-instrumentalist Marvel Years has dedicated his career to redefining electronic music’s traditional genre boundaries. Melding guitar instrumentation with studio beatmaking, the Vermont-born, New York-based artist fuels his productions with soul and blues to create the raw, bass-heavy signature sound that’s landed him multiple performances at Red Rocks alongside ZHU, STS9, and Pretty Lights.

Marvel Years puts his hybrid instrumentation-production prowess on full display in his new Pink Floyd tribute EP Have A Cigar, inspired by childhood years spent listening to classic rock.

The two-track EP sees Marvel Years recontextualize an iconic record that soundtracked his adolescence - through both a collaborative cover alongside venerable musicians, as well as a self-produced remix.

The “Have A Cigar” cover showcases virtuosic guitar work from Marvel Years himself alongside sweeping vocals from trumpeter/singer Jennifer Hartswick (who has graced the stage with legends such as Herbie Hancock, Phish, and Tom Petty), emphatic drumming from Grammy-nominated drummer/producer Adam Deitch (from the band Lettuce), and lively synths from RAQ keyboardist Todd Stoops.

The cover pays careful homage to the psychedelic blues of its source material, mixing twangy guitar riffs and soulful vocal performances into a faithful adaptation of the original song.

Marvel Years’ own “Have A Cigar (Remix)” maintains the general structure of the cover but imbues its surface with a bevy of bass music elements. Bruising dubstep growls and drum patterns swirl around Hartswick’s voice and Marvel Year’s grand guitar solos, further filtering the Pink Floyd classic through a modern electronic edge.

The Have A Cigar EP allows Marvel Years to have it both ways: enamored equally by retro and futuristic aesthetics, this two-track project spotlights the artist’s production chops alongside his first musical love: the guitar.

Have A Cigar follows up this year’s Hidden Groove, Vol. IV, the latest installment in Marvel Years’ long-standing project series revolving around live loops. No stranger to the stage, Marvel Years has toured with electro-funk producer GRiZ and played at respected festivals such as Camp Bisco, Hulaween, and Electric Forest.

Marvel Years will radiate his spectral electronic soul sound across the country this summer, with performances at Knitting Factory Brooklyn and Thornville’s Secret Dreams Festival.

Featuring the world debut of special guests Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy (vocalist/guitarist) and Nels Cline (guitarist) alongside host and captain of the musical ship Phil Lesh, SACRED ROSE will proudly present the first-ever ‘PHILCO’ performance. The headlining Friday night set in Wilco’s native Chicago will truly be a once-in-a-lifetime musical moment, melding together the fabrics of two iconic American bands for the first (and likely last) time ever. Anchored by Lesh’s white-hot bass riffs, PHILCO will see Tweedy channel Jerry Garcia’s vocal power while Cline purveys six-string shredding.

Also joining Lesh, Tweedy and Cline is an all-star roster of critically-acclaimed musicians including Jeff Chimenti (Dead & Co, Wolfpack), Karl Denson (Rolling Stones, Greyboy Allstars), John Molo (Phil Lesh & Friends), Stu Allen (Phil Lesh & Friends + Dark Star Orchestra), Grahame Lesh (Phil Lesh & Friends + Midnight North), and Elliott Peck (Midnight North).

Says Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy: “Nels and I are honored to be asked to join Phil and Friends for Sacred Rose. There has been so much about Phil and the Dead to be inspired by over the years, from their longtime musical brotherhood to their wonderful and incomparable music, to their relentless touring and longevity. But perhaps the biggest inspiration is their dedication to the community that has grown up around them. This is a trait that we in Wilco deeply appreciate and have aimed to emulate over the years. There’s nothing better than playing music with your friends, for your friends."

Lesh has a special relationship with Wilco, dating back to 1999 when the Grateful Dead founding member performed his catalog hit “Ripple” with the band at their California concert. In 2016, Wilco joined forces with Lesh’s fellow founding member Bob Weir to cover Grateful Dead’s “St. Stephen,” with Lesh returning the favor in 2019 when his Terrapin Family Band covered Wilco’s “Misunderstood”.

SACRED ROSE’s eclectic line-up spans the sweet sounds of Americana, psych-rock, jam, indie, soul, funk and bluegrass which includes Khruangbin, The War On Drugs, Black Pumas, Umphrey’s McGee, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Goose, STS9, Greensky Bluegrass, Kamasi Washington, Animal Collective, Margo Price, and many more.

After spending nearly 30 years showcasing their Grammy-winning brand of alternative rock across the globe, Wilco will make their Iceland debut from Thursday, April 6 to Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Reykjavik’s Eldborg Hall at Harpa.

The world-class concert hall, which won the USITT Architecture Award in 2018 thanks to its state-of-the-art acoustic technology, is the perfect venue for Wilco’s inaugural Iceland performances. One of Reykjavik’s most significant cultural landmarks, Harpa has played host to a plethora of iconic acts like Kraftwerk, Pat Metheny, Bjork, Patti Smith, Herbie Hancock, Snarky Puppy, David Byrne & St. Vincent, and Elvis Costello.

Wilco’s three-night Reykjavik residency represents yet another major milestone for the Chicago-bred group, who released their critically-acclaimed twelfth studio album Cruel Country in May. Up next, Nonesuch Records will release seven special editions of Wilco’s landmark 2002 album Yankee Hotel Foxtrot on September 30, 2022. A new, previously unreleased track from the super deluxe and deluxe editions—a live, in-the-studio version of “Ashes of American Flags” from a 2001 session on WXRT Radio’s Sound Opinions—is available today, August 10. “Ashes of American Flags (Live in the Studio)” is available here, as are album pre-orders.

Wilco celebrated Yankee Hotel Foxtrot’s twentieth anniversary earlier this year with two limited runs in Chicago and New York, and will soon kick off a North American tour in support of Cruel Country.

The six-piece will perform in Iceland for their first time thanks to Bucket List Tours, a newly-minted concert promotion company that encourages fans to see their favorite artists in “bucket list” locations. As opposed to all-inclusive resort festivals that dictate every aspect of travel - from arrival and departure dates, to food offerings and activity programming - Bucket List Tours empowers both artists and attendees to experience these magnificent destinations at their own pace. Bucket List Tours wants bands and their fans to explore the world together on their own terms, and offers ticket buyers discounted rates on hotels and airfare in addition to optional group excursions.

Bucket List Tours already boasts a proven track-record as international event impresarios. This past March, the company sold out its three-night Umphrey’s McGee run in Reykjavik, welcoming 1,500 people from around the world at each concert. Bucket List Tours will also bring The Disco Biscuits to the Icelandic capital for their three-night Tranceatlantic run from May 20-23, 2023.

Next April, Wilco and their fans will also share this magical experience in one of the world’s most enchanting and awe-inspiring countries - all during the peak Northern Lights viewing season.

Shape-shifting producer and multi-instrumentalist Marvel Years has dedicated his career to evolving his sound and redefining electronic music’s traditional genre boundaries.

Melding guitar instrumentation with studio beat-making, the Vermont-born, New York-based artist fuels his productions with soul and blues to create the raw, bass-heavy signature sound that’s landed him multiple performances at Red Rocks alongside ZHU, STS9, and Pretty Lights.
When the early days of the pandemic deprived Marvel Years of his refuge of live performance, the creative polymath decided to use lockdown to reinvigorate his love for studio songwriting and refine the Marvel Years sound. The result of this reflection was the concept for Voyage Ahead, a sprawling, thematic listening journey that takes fans into Marvel Years' exciting new sonic ventures.

That journey now begins with Voyage Ahead Pt.1, the first part of a two-part EP series and a collection of songs that emulates the jubilation of live performance in electronic music. On Voyage Ahead Pt. 1, Marvel Years goes beyond just live guitar recordings by playing each instrumental element himself in places where he would have used samples. This process results in a studio EP that recreates the Marvel Years live sound from a time when he couldn’t actually perform, thus bringing out the artist’s most innovative work yet and showcasing the immense possibilities of what Marvel Years can be.

Last month, fans got their first taste of Voyage Ahead Pt.1 with the EP’s first single, “Come This Far” -  a collaboration with electronic music keyboardist Jason Leech (who’s opened for Galantis, GRiZ, and Big Gigantic) and vocalist Jess Lamb. The song kicks off with bluesy piano riffs and raw, hard-hitting bass lines that underline Lamb’s raspy, infectious vocals. It then transitions into deep, booming bass tones, futuristic synth melodies, and grand guitar solos, setting the tone for the cosmic, genre-blending listening experience of Voyage Ahead Pt. 1.

Marvel Years continues to display this blues-inflected electronic style across the EP. On “Higher Up,” the producer infuses virtuosic guitar playing with high-level digital production technique, blending together catchy vocals, pounding drum beats, and detailed synth sound design for a lavish, shape-shifting banger.

The EP is rounded out by its other kaleidoscopic masterworks, “Lean With It,” “Where The Bounce At,” and “Space March,” culminating in a five-track package designed to retain Marvel Years’ typical groove and swagger while also taking a glimpse into the future of the dynamic musical project.

Fans can immerse themselves in the Voyage Ahead universe at Marvel Years’ forthcoming headlining show at Denver’s Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom on Friday, October 7, 2022. The event will vaunt a unique, two-part performance: a solo Marvel Years set preceded by a Marvel Years Trio set featuring Jason Leech alongside Emancipator/Manic Focus drummer Colby Buckler. The solo set will spotlight Marvel Years’ eclectic skills as he bounces between guitar, synths, and the DJ board for a bass-heavy performance. The Marvel Years Trio set will then see the multi-instrumentalist flex his abilities as a bandleader, with the jamtronica sounds from Jason Leech’s keys and the powerful, versatile drumming from Colby Buckler coming together to complement Marvel Years’ more soulful, instrumental-driven sonics.

Marvel Years will also display his live performance prowess on his nationwide Fall Tour, including festivals such as Freaky Deaky and Greenway Music Festival. Tickets on sale now!

Gem & Jam Festival has announced the full lineup for its 15th annual edition set to take place February 3 - 5, 2023. The three-day music, art, performance, and gem & mineral festival will return to the scenic desert landscapes of Pima County Fairgrounds in Tucson, Arizona.

Headliners include legendary jam band The String Cheese Incident and psychedelic bass purveyor LSDream, both of whom will be making their Gem & Jam Festival debuts. Gem & Jam veteran headliners include electro-funk duo The Floozies and genre-melding producer Emancipator.

Gem & Jam Festival will also welcome back acts like the genre-blending funk band The Motet, electro-twang outfit Dirtwire, psychedelic dub producer Ott, saxophone-wielding bass producer SoDown, Canadian glitch-hop duo The Funk Hunters, Chicago-house music pioneer Mark Farina, and blues-inflected multi-instrumentalist/producer Marvel Years.

First-time Gem & Jam Festival performers include house purveyor Justin Martin, spiritual vocalist Ayla Nereo, Grammy-nominated producer Haywyre, indie-jam rock group Aqueous, experimental bass-music duo EAZYBAKED, Pete Tong-heralded soulful house producer Justin Jay, soul trio The Nth Power, world music multi-instrumentalist Poranguí, and the metal/bass-music melder Ravenscoon.

Speaking on last year’s Gem & Jam, Billboard stated, “Gem & Jam’s intimate footprint (three outdoor stages, an indoor space, a row of food and craft vendors and areas for live artists and workshops) made it possible to explore every nook and corner of the site, much of which was decorated with a gem theme… With 6,000 attendees ... this was the biggest iteration of the festival to date. Still, the vibe was homey and homespun."

Located on 640 acres and just 20 miles south of downtown Tucson, the Pima County Fairgrounds is surrounded by nature and resides in a stunning desert environment, creating an expansive and magical setting perfect for Gem & Jam Festival. Similar to years past, Gem & Jam will offer on-site camping, RV passes, glamping options, late-night music, daytime workshops, delicious food & drink, a world-renowned vendor bazaar, and of course, around-the-clock music and art.

Glamping options are not included with ticket admission and are available for purchase separately via the Gem & Jam website. Reserved in a shaded campsite on grass, each luxury tent sleeps two comfortably and comes inclusive with an inflatable mattress, bedding, furniture, space heater, and electricity.

Payment Plans are available for 3-day weekend festival passes. Attendees can split up the cost of their ticket over a few easy payments. All ticketing options can be found here.

Following their successful 2022 partnership, Gem & Jam is once again teaming up with environmental festival organization Green Disco to improve the festival’s environmental footprint and give its audience the opportunity to have an eco-friendly experience. Gem & Jam attendees can buy a Green Disco Eco-Band - an optional ticket add-on that supports nonprofits in Tucson, offsets measurable amounts of carbon, and supports data collection efforts. Made from 100% hemp, this optional $20 wristband allows you to wear what you value and provides access to exclusive perks on-site!

During the melancholic doldrums of the early pandemic, a group of renowned Denver-based funk, jazz, jam, soul and electronic musicians formed BTTRFLY Quintet: a futuristic soul-jazz fusion collective driven to bring music and joy back to daily life.

Comprised of Grammy-winning Lettuce trumpeter Eric “Benny” Bloom, Grammy-nominated Lettuce drummer Adam Deitch, Pretty Lights and Break Science collaborator Borahm Lee, Big Gigantic producer and saxophonist Dominc Lalli, and Break Science bassist/visual artist Hunter Roberts, the supergroup began by playing for thirty-seven people in a COVID restricted Cervantes Ballroom, and has since fledged its wings with performances at Florida’s Branquility Festival and Denver’s art experience space Meow Wolf.

The band filters jazz through their own unique, shared musical languages, having sprouted from their cocoons of isolation and transformed into a new sonic entity dedicated to spreading beauty throughout the world.

Now, BTTRFLY Quintet unleashes their debut single, “Coast,” the title track from their forthcoming album which will release on Friday, November 4. Full of grand instrumentation and lush textures, “Coast” hints at an LP full of adventurous, improvisational, and futuristic soul-jazz.

BTTRFLY Quintet

Featuring warm, raw production and a rich world of affected instrumental timbres,“Coast” sits between being reminiscent of classic funk/soul records of the 1970s as well as something undeniably modern.

With playful, subtle musicianship in the spotlight, the song perfectly captures the feel and energy of witnessing an air-tight rhythm section in a live setting. Melodic horn lines, rich harmony, experienced funk songwriting and immersive improvisations take the listener on a dynamic and well-crafted journey, shepherded along by a wealth of satisfying, danceable grooves.

BTTRFLY Quintet will showcase their elegant musical colors at their Coast Album Release Party on Friday, November 4 at Denver’s Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox. Tickets on sale now.

Shape-shifting producer and multi-instrumentalist Marvel Years paints pictures within his blues-inspired, bass-heavy soundscapes. This evocative, genre-melding sound has cultivated the New York-based, Vermont-born artist a fervent fanbase and led to multiple performances at Red Rocks alongside the likes of ZHU, STS9, and Pretty Lights.

In August, Marvel Years unleashed Voyage Ahead Pt. 1, the first part of a two part EP series designed to take listeners on a thematic journey from the core basics of the Marvel Years’ brand into exciting new sonic ventures. Born out of intense self-reflection at the beginning of the COVID lockdown, the Voyage Ahead concept represents Marvel Year’s love for live instrumental playing from a time when performing wasn’t possible, resulting in the artist’s most innovative work yet and a display for the immense possibilities of what Marvel Years can be.

This journey now continues with “Shades On,” the first single to drop from Marvel Years’ forthcoming Voyage Ahead Pt. 2 EP. Inspired by a sunset drive on the Pacific Coast Highway in LA, “Shades On” is the sonic embodiment of cool. The track evokes feelings and images of a Tarantino-style crime tale, with a central character cruising by the Pacific Ocean, shades on, on the way to the biggest heist of his life.

“Shades On” continues Marvel Years’ penchant for melding blues-style guitar playing with intricate electronic craftsmanship. The track kicks off with an infectious riff that slowly builds with a rising synth layer, added guitar melodies, thumping kick drums, and vocal samples. The song then moves along like a story would, seamlessly transitioning into a propulsive rhythm and taking listeners through the auditory scene.

“Shades On” then drops into the song’s climax, an epic, bass-fueled section full of dubstep wubs, triumphant synth chord progressions, hard-hitting drums, and deep, trunk-rattling bass tones.

And with a finale replete with sweeping guitar solos and futuristic sound design washing away into the riff that started off the track - effectively completing the sonic full circle -  Marvel Years closes his story with a swift getaway.

Marvel Years will also display his live performance prowess throughout the fall at festivals such as Freaky Deaky and Voyager V.

Newly-minted, genre-bending outfit LVNDR.SOUND is making its mark on the Denver music scene. Composed of SunSquabi bassist Josh Fairman, keyboardist/sound design virtuoso Geoff Bremer and multi-instrumentalist Jay.Greens, the electronic trio blends future bass, electro-soul, house, and nu-age funk to create dynamic soundscapes that pay homage to their city’s multifaceted cultural roots.

Since bursting onto the scene earlier this year, LVNDR.SOUND has already collaborated with hometown legends such as Adam Deitch and Eric “Benny” Bloom (both of the band Lettuce), and sold out their debut headlining show at local festival The Kaia Project.

After releasing their first three singles “Nebula,” “Virtual One” (with Eric “Benny” Bloom), and “Signal” (with Adam Deitch) via Jay.Greens’ own genre-crossing label Perception Records, LVNDR.SOUND now unveils “Echoes” as the fourth single from their forthcoming LP.

“Echoes” showcases the group’s versatility and close creative chemistry, having bonded while making music together during the early days of the pandemic and cultivated a workflow defined by both interchangeability and mutual respect. Blending elements of dubstep, drum n’ bass, and funk into a lavish, future bass epic, LVNDR.SOUND takes Bremer’s lead for a final product full of crisp, euphoric textures.

Staying true to its own name, “Echoes” kicks off with spacious tones and a repeated, infectious chord progression before building with chopped-up vocal samples in a reverbed atmosphere. After temporarily receding, the instrumental then builds up again with stuttering percussion and cacophonous risers before dropping into a lush, immersive soundscape replete with expertly designed, layered synth melodies and trunk-rattling drums.

By taking inspiration from Denver electronic pioneers and incorporating the members’ eclectic, individual musical backgrounds, LVNDR.SOUND fits squarely into the lineage of Denver music while adding to its legacy.

“Echoes” is an acute representation of the diverse, community-oriented ethos of its label, Perception Records. Founded by LVNDR.SOUND’s own Jay.Greens, Perception Records aims to release music from across the genre spectrum and reflect Denver’s multi-cultural identity. The label platforms artists by linking them with top-tier session musicians, producers, engineers, and songwriters, creating a space for different sounds and creatives to communicate under one roof and uplift one another within the Colorado music scene.

Now, the supergroup releases their anticipated debut record, Coast, via Mocean Records - a ten-track package that satisfies the group’s collective love for adventurous, improvisational, futuristic soul-jazz.

Featuring warm, raw production and a rich world of affected instrumental timbres, the record’s sound sits between being reminiscent of classic funk/soul records of the 1970’s as well as something undeniably, excitingly modern.

Fans got their first taste of Coast with the album’s self-titled lead single. With playful, subtle musicianship in the spotlight, the song perfectly captures the feel and energy of witnessing an air-tight rhythm section in a live setting. Next was “Buried Treasure,” yet another showcase of the group’s lavish, genre-fusing, instrumental mastery. With dark, looming synth tones and complex, syncopated drum patterns bleeding into vibrant horn and organ playing, the song evocatively establishes a mysterious mood.

BTTRFLY Quintet: Coast

The rest of the Coast tracklist is similarly expressive. Melodic horn lines, rich harmony, experienced funk songwriting, and immersive improvisations take the listener on a dynamic and well-crafted journey, shepherded along by a wealth of satisfying, danceable grooves.

While this may be the first time the world has heard from BTTRFLY Quintet, many will be familiar with the output of its five prolific members. Alongside their main projects, the group boasts an impressive collective CV of Grammy wins and nominations as well as credits with everyone from New Orleans piano legend Jon Clearly, Derek Trucks’ Tedeschi Trucks Band and global superstars such as John Scofield, Kool & The Gang, Solange, Average White Band, Run DMC, Lee “Scratch” Perry, Dave Matthews Band and Lauryn Hill.

BTTRFLY Quintet will showcase their elegant musical colors at their Coast Album Release Party on Friday, November 4 at Denver’s Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox. Tickets on sale now.

Denver-based, genre-bending outfit LVNDR.SOUND crafts lavish studio recordings imbued with a live performance spirit. Composed of Sunsquabi bassist Josh Fairman, keyboardist/sound design virtuoso Geoff Bremer and multi-instrumentalist Jay.Greens, the newly-minted electronic trio blends future bass, electro-soul, house, and nu-age funk into dynamic soundscapes with a highly improvisational edge.

The group’s unique electronic sound has grabbed the attention of Denver’s vibrant music community. Since bursting onto the scene earlier this year, LVNDR.SOUND has already collaborated with hometown legends such as Adam Deitch and Eric “Benny” Bloom (both of the band Lettuce), and sold out their debut headlining show at local festival The Kaia Project.

LVNDR.SOUND

After releasing their first four singles “Nebula,” “Virtual One” (with Eric “Benny” Bloom), “Signal” (with Adam Deitch) and “Echoes” via Jay.Greens’ own genre-crossing label Perception Records, LVNDR.SOUND now unveils “Expedition” as the fifth single from their forthcoming debut LP.

“Expedition” was created leading up to LVNDR.SOUND’s debut show at The Kaia Project, a music festival nestled in the Rocky Mountains. Exemplifying LVNDR.SOUND’s versatile, adaptive style, “Expedition” pushes the trio’s boundaries into the world of tech-house - an homage to their tech-house friends and peers also playing the festival.

As a time capsule of LVNDR.SOUND’s journey towards their first-ever concert, “Expedition” appropriately strives for a grand, impactful live performance vibe. The track kicks off with futuristic, moody synth melodies and drum rhythms before incorporating bruising kick drums. It then builds into an explosive drop of blazing synths and tech-house grooves and vocal samples - an incendiary section meant to tear up dancefloors everywhere. With intricately designed production and a playful, energetic aura, “Expedition” showcases LVNDR.SOUND’s close creative chemistry and versatile skillset.

“Expedition” is an acute representation of the diverse, community-oriented ethos of its label, Perception Records.

With less than two months away from Gem & Jam’s 15th annual edition, the three-day music and arts festival has added more than 40 acts to its already stacked lineup.

Returning to the idyllic desert landscape of Pima County Fairgrounds in Tucson, Arizona from Friday, February 3 - Sunday, February 5, Gem & Jam’s new artist additions include a special Lightcode set from LSDREAM, Grateful Dead/Talking Heads hybrid tribute band Talking Dead, Michael Travis and Aaron Johnson’s nascent duo Snakes & Stars, Denver trip-hop live-electronic pair Since JulEYE, and throngs of talented local acts.

In addition to LSDREAM making his highly-anticipated festival debut, the psychedelic bass purveyor will also showcase his special, live Lightcode set. As seen at festivals like Electric Forest, Lightning In A Bottle, and Okeechobee, Lightcode is an immersive sonic healing experience featuring original music, guided meditations, and sound baths.

Fans of the Talking Heads and The Grateful Dead will be treated to a hybrid tribute set by Talking Dead, a collaborative project from Life During Wartime and Garcia Birthday Band. Together, Talking Dead delivers unique marathon performances that are not for the light-hearted, with seamless full-band transitions and no set breaks. The supergroup is known for remarkable song couplings, groove mutations of fantasy mix-tapes, and an outright celebration of two of the most prominent song catalogs in history uniting in joyous triumph.

In addition to playing during both of The String Cheese Incident’s headlining sets, drummer Michael Travis will also perform alongside Aaron Johnston of The David Byrne Band in their new improvisational electronic act Snakes & Stars. After making their official debut earlier this year at Elevation Music Festival in Alma, Colorado, the duo’s mix of traditional drumming with various electronic genres has captivated audiences nationwide, leading to 2023 bookings at festivals like Electric Forest.

Denver trip-hop duo Since JulEYE will also be bringing their bracingly original, glitched-out melodics to Gem & Jam 2023. After initially starting as a solo project by DJ/producer Lev Averbakh, Since JulEYE recently added long-time collaborator and veteran keyboardist Todd Stoops (RAQ, Kung-Fu) as a permanent member. Now operating as a full-fledged duo, this new creative partnership has resulted in a vibrant mix of Averbakh’s bouncy hip-hop production with Stoops’ jam band sensibilities. Since JulEYE’s live sets feature Averbakh DJing and playing bass while Stoops finesses the keys, a dynamic combination that has led to performances at Summer Camp Music Festival, Color Field, and Denver’s Meow Wolf.

Since the festival’s inception, Gem & Jam has played an important role in developing and championing the Tucson music scene. For the 2023 installment, more than 40 homegrown artists will host an “All The Homies” takeover on the Opal Stage, exhibiting a display of some of Arizona’s most promising bubbling artists.

The new artist additions join headliners The String Cheese Incident, LSDREAM, The Floozies, and Emancipator, with support from The Motet, Dirtwire, Ott, SoDown, The Funk Hunters, Mark Farina, and Marvel Years. Acts making their Gem & Jam festival debuts include Justin Martin, Ayla Nereo, Haywyre, Aqueous, EAZYBAKED, Justin Jay, The Nth Power, Poranguí, and Ravenscoon.

The sonically diverse festival will return to the Pima County Fairgrounds, located on 640 acres and just 20 miles south of downtown Tucson. The venue is surrounded by nature and resides in a stunning desert environment, creating an expansive and magical setting perfect for Gem & Jam Festival. Like previous years, Gem & Jam will offer on-site camping, RV passes, glamping options, late-night music, daytime workshops, delicious food & beverage options, a world-renowned vendor bazaar, and of course, around-the-clock music and art.

Gem & Jam is fostering a relationship with environmental festival organization Green Disco to improve its environmental footprint and give attendees the opportunity to have an eco-friendly festival experience. Green Disco’s Eco-Band is an optional ticket add-on that supports nonprofits in Tucson, offsets measurable amounts of carbon, and supports environmental data collection efforts. Made from 100% hemp, the $20 wristband allows festival goers to do their part in conserving the environment and provides access to exclusive perks on-site. The Eco-Band can be purchased at checkout or as an add-on through our official ticketing page to be picked up at the box office.

Denver-based funk quintet The Motet continue to evolve 20+ years into their career.

Known for pristine live performances and a seamless blend of funk, jazz, soul, and rock, The Motet has cultivated a fervent fanbase that follows them through sold-out shows across the nation - including six headlining slots at Red Rocks and sets at festivals such as Bonnaroo, Bottlerock, Electric Forest, Bumbershoot, Summer Camp, and High Sierra.

Now, the legendary outfit, composed of Dave Watts (drums), Joey Porter (keys), Garrett Sayers (bass), Drew Sayers (keys and saxophone), and Ryan Jalbert (guitar), have found yet a new way to excite their highly devoted listeners. With nine studio albums already under their belt, The Motet is revving up towards their latest full-length LP, All Day, the band’s first instrumental project since 2009’s electronica-fueled Dig Deep.

All Day retains the infectious grooves and immaculate, layered arrangements that The Motet have become known for. But by recentering the listening experience around the playing and composition, All Day emphasizes the band's instrumental mastery molded by two decades of shared musical chemistry. As a result, the new LP promises to showcase a world-class band at the peak of their powers.

Fans can get their first taste of All Day with the album’s lead single, “‘79,” a lavish funk and soul epic. One of the four album contributions from Dave Watts, “‘79” was written in the drummer’s home studio, which tragically burnt down in the Marshall Fire of 2021. This history morphs the track into a symbol of resilience, friendship, and memory, as the band helps reconstruct a creative artifact from a lost past.

“‘79” kicks off with a blaze of synth chords, drum fills, and psychedelic guitar licks before washing away into funky basslines and percussion. The track then incorporates a bevy of other instrumental elements, including string arrangements and a mysterious central guitar melody.

By imbuing its lush sonic details with sweeping synth lines and nostalgic instrumental motifs, “‘79'' takes the shape of a retro-futuristic and jazz-fusion masterclass. The track takes you back into the funky past of the 70s and 80s while fortifying its pastiche with decidedly modern elements - a combination that promises a full-length LP full of similarly cathartic, genre-blending experiments, and a showcase for some of The Motet’s most mature work to date.

The Motet will celebrate the release of All Day with a nationwide tour, kicking off at the end of this month at Crystal Bay Casino in Lake Tahoe. Fans will then be able to catch the group’s live performance expertise in cities such as their Denver hometown, Salt Lake City, St. Louis, Columbus, and across the pond in Hawaii.

For a little over two decades, The Motet have cultivated a fervent fanbase through immaculate live performances and a seamless blend of funk, jazz, soul, and rock. This unique style and cohesive musical chemistry have led to sold-out shows across the nation - including six headlining slots at Red Rocks and sets at festivals such as Bonnaroo, Bottlerock, Electric Forest, Bumbershoot, Summer Camp, and High Sierra.

But even after their 20+ years of accolades and recognition, the legendary outfit - composed of Dave Watts (drums), Joey Porter (keys), Garrett Sayers (bass), Drew Sayers (keys and saxophone), and Ryan Jalbert (guitar) - are still exploring new sonic and thematic ideas.

Now, the band is revving up towards their 10th studio album, All Day, which will release on Wednesday, January 18, 2023. All Day marks The Motet’s first primarily instrumental project since 2009’s electronica-fueled Dig Deep.

Fans got their first taste of All Day with the album’s lead single, “‘79,” a lavish funk and soul epic. With a retro-futurist style, the track takes you into the funky past of the 70s and 80s while fortifying its pastiche with decidedly modern elements.

Today, The Motet release “Draccus,” a hazy, funk-fueled experience. Filled to the brim with lush sonic details and powerful lyricism, “Draccus” juxtaposes grim verses with cathartic, hopeful choruses.

“Draccus” embodies what The Motet have concocted with All Day, an album that will retain the infectious grooves and immaculate, layered arrangements that The Motet have become known for. But by recentering the listening experience around the playing and composition, All Day emphasizes the band's instrumental mastery molded by two decades of shared musical chemistry. As a result, the new LP promises to showcase a world-class band at the peak of their powers while simultaneously adding potent social themes that address modern political strife.

“Draccus” kicks off with a growling, deep bass and guitar groove that underlie the dystopian vocoder-synth vocals. The verse then transitions into the song’s cacophonous chorus, which imbues the track with synth and organ chords on top of ascending guitar melodies.

Oscillating between politically-charged verses and optimistic instrumental hooks, “Draccus” speaks to the current social reality while offering a tone of hope and resilience in the face of existential doubt.

“First eat up all the trees, look out I spit fire/The keeper of the keys, flames are getting higher/Draccus does what he wants,” the band sings, a gloomy, poetic message on the state of the world.

But “Draccus” isn’t mere despair. It relates to the socio-political upheaval of the past several years, and uses its arrangements and instrumentation to bring focus to the importance of music and art. For The Motet, society can prosper through community, and music can be that bridging catalyst.

Fans can hear “Draccus” and other All Day cuts on The Motet’s upcoming nationwide tour, kicking off with a two-night New Years run at Crystal Bay Casino in Lake Tahoe and stopping through cities like Salt Lake City, St. Louis, Columbus, and Honolulu. In addition to performing at Tucson’s Gem & Jam Festival, the band will also play a special, hometown doubleheader at Denver’s Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom, to celebrate both the LP release and the iconic venue’s 20th anniversary.

Today, The Motet release “Back Seat,” a groovy, vintage-funk single showcasing the band’s harmonious musical symbiosis.

“Back Seat” embodies what The Motet have concocted with All Day, an album that will retain the infectious grooves and immaculate, layered arrangements that The Motet have become known for. But by recentering the listening experience around the playing and composition, All Day emphasizes the band's instrumental mastery molded by two decades of shared musical chemistry.

“Back Seat” kicks off with some punchy full band hits giving subtle nod to classic hip hop MPC samples before dropping into the song's heavy and infectious central riff. Then, driven by a tight percussion section consisting of bongos and head-bobbing drum beats, “Back Seat” takes on a classic D.C. go-go sound, which adds a new wrinkle to The Motet’s recent genre explorations.

With imminently danceable grooves and intoxicating compositions, “Back Seat” is a rousing single that promises an album full of similarly stand-out cuts. The track imbues its underlying elements with psychedelic synth chord progressions, intricate, jazzy drum fills, and sweeping saxophone and guitar solos for an immersive, boundary-pushing experience.

In 2022, newly-minted, genre-bending outfit LVNDR.SOUND made bold musical statements and embedded its mark on the Denver music scene. Composed of Sunsquabi bassist Josh Fairman, keyboardist/sound design virtuoso Geoff Bremer and multi-instrumentalist Jay.Greens, the electronic trio introduced their blend of future bass, electro-soul, house, and nu-age funk in grand studio presentation.

LVNDR.SOUND has already collaborated with hometown legends such as Adam Deitch and Eric “Benny” Bloom (both of the band Lettuce), sold out their debut headlining show at local festival The Kaia Project, and crafted a catalogue of dynamic electronic soundscapes that pay homage to their city’s multifaceted cultural roots.

Now, after releasing their first four singles “Nebula,” “Virtual One” (with Eric “Benny” Bloom), “Signal” (with Adam Deitch), “Echoes,” and “Lights Out” via Jay.Greens’ own genre-crossing label Perception Records, LVNDR.SOUND unveils their debut full-length album, Lavender.

Lavender is not only an acute reflection of LVNDR.SOUND's genre-hopping mastery, but also an immersive journey that showcases the group’s close creative chemistry and dedication to crafting a cohesive, epic listening experience.

Listeners can hear the group’s versatility and seasoned production skills on album cuts like “Nightfall,” a lush electro banger. Kicking off with a thumping four-on-the-floor beat, “Nightfall” combines funky, deep bass melodies and driving percussion that transition into a central section filled to the brim with blazing synth chords and infectious grooves.

Lavender’s exploration of styles continues on tracks like “Prisms,” a lavish bass-house epic with trunk-rattling bass and pulsating drum rhythms. There’s also “Talkin’ Bout It,” a collaboration with Break Science keyboardist Borahm Lee. Imbuing its psychedelic soundscape with an eclectic mix of smokey atmospherics, future bass wubs, laidback guitar licks, and frenetic breakbeats, “Talkin’ Bout It” is a unique listening experience that aptly rounds out the LP’s diverse vibe.

If 2022 represented LVNDR.SOUND’s entrance into the Denver music scene, Lavender kicks off the band’s 2023 by cementing them within the city’s artistic spotlight and establishing them as an endlessly creative group fit for Denver’s storied musical history.

Suwannee Hulaween has unveiled its historic, genre-crossing lineup to celebrate the festival’s tenth anniversary celebration edition, returning home to the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida from Thursday, October 26 - Sunday, October 29, 2023.

Hulaween is one of the last truly-independent, large-scale music festivals thriving amongst today’s corporatized concert landscape, and after selling out its last five editions, the festival is commemorating a decade of success with its most impressive lineup yet.

Following a five-year hiatus, electro-soul pioneer Pretty Lights will headline Hulaween as his only East Coast festival performance on his Soundship Spacesystem Tour. It's been nearly two decades since Pretty Lights started originating his signature, sample-heavy sounds that redefined America’s electronic music scene, and his exclusive East Coast festival set at Hulaween promises to showcase vibrant, bass-fueled sounds to the festival’s feverish audience.

Known globally for his playful demeanor and rip-roaring sets, tech-house maestro John Summit marks another Hulaween headliner. The Beatport chart-shredder will host Hulaween’s first-ever takeover by Off The Grid, Summit’s party-starting imprint, which will offer up sets by label favorites famed for igniting dance floors.

Other electronic music heavyweights headlining Hulaween include Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist/producer Elderbrook, producer polymath Big Wild, and revered house producer/vocalist Channel Tres.

On the jam side of the lineup, Hulaween founders The String Cheese Incident will serve up three nights of headlining performances. Phish-offshoot Trey Anastasio Band and critically-acclaimed indie-jam five piece Goose will play consecutive sets on the same night, following their joint tour across the North East last fall. Other headlining bands include Hulaween staple Joe Russo’s Almost Dead (2 sets), the Hulaween debut of Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade, and legendary roots-rock outfit Dispatch.

Hulaween will also welcome neo-soul rapper Smino as the festival’s sole hip-hop headliner, as well as a headlining set by five-piece indie rock band Mt. Joy. One additional band headliner remains yet to be announced, coming later in April.

The festival will present a bevy of in-demand, electronic music support acts, including Montreal producer BLOND:ISH, underground bass purveyor Eprom, multi-faceted Italian DJ/producer duo Gioli & Assia, ascendent bass producer ISOxo, genre-bending producer Manic Focus, ascendent trailblazer Moore Kismet, bass-focused producer supergroup Lab Group, and future-funk maestro Yung Bae.

Staying true to its band-focused roots, Hulaween will boast a medley of celebrated acts including funk-fusion ensemble Lettuce, funk-jam group Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, and critically-acclaimed, Anatolian rock/Turkish psychedelic folk outfit Altin Gün.

The Hulaween 2023 lineup is brimming with more than 90 acts that cover all corners of the dance floor. Over the course of the past decade, Hulaween has hosted a plethora of genre-crossing artists the Spirit of the Suwannee’s idyllic grounds, which serves as perfect setting for attendees to fully immerse themselves in Florida’s lush, enchanting nature.

Hulaween’s Spirit Lake is heralded as one of the leading immersive art experiences across American festivals, brimming with talented sculptors, fire/metal workers, painters, thespians, and lighting designers. Attendees can revel in lakefront projection mapping, hypnotizing light shows, interactive installations, and both visual and performance art, catch performances at Spirit Lake’s two stages, and groove into sunrise at the Silent Disco.

Seasoned event organizers Gem & Jam and 4 Peaks Presents have joined forces to produce the first-ever Cascade Equinox Festival, a new cross-genre camping festival set to take place at Deschutes County Fairgrounds in Redmond, OR from Friday, September 22 - Sunday, September 24, 2023.

Cascade Equinox has unveiled the stacked lineup for its inaugural edition, which boasts more than 50 acts that span the genre spectrum. This eclectic, dynamic lineup reflects the people and scenery that embody the festival’s Central Oregon location, amalgamating a diverse medley of jam, electronic, funk, soul and bluegrass acts.

Last week, the festival began dripping out headliners, starting with electro-soul pioneer Pretty Lights. Following a five-year hiatus, the producer will headline Cascade Equinox Festival as his only Pacific Northwest performance on his Soundship Spacesystem Tour. With nearly two decades of experience flexing his signature, sample-heavy sounds that redefined America’s electronic music scene, Pretty Lights is ready to showcase his vibrant, bass-fueled set to his fans at Cascade Equinox.

Other electronic music heavyweights headlining Cascade Equinox include producer polymath Big Wild, guitar-driven, psychedelic electronic pop duo Phantogram, genre-blending bass act Of The Trees, and boundary-pushing producer/guitarist Emancipator.

Headliners on the jam and bluegrass side of the lineup include critically-acclaimed indie-jam five piece Goose, roots-inflected folk and Eastern Mysticism-inspired singer-songwriter Trevor Hall & The Great In Between, and Portland, OR-based folk-rock band Fruition.

The festival will also present a bevy of other in-demand, electronic music acts, including electro blues-grass duo Dirtwire, bass-experimentalist Opiuo, house maestro LP Giobbi (performing a Dead House set), genre-bending producer Manic Focus, electro-folk duo Moontricks, soul-infused bass artist Maddy O’Neal, psychedelic bass producer Tripp St., emotive producer/multi-instrumentalist Frameworks, psychedelic house/techno producer Christain Martin, violinist bass producer Josh Teed, Dirtybird-founding member and Anabatic Records label boss Mz. Worthy, electro-soul guitarist/producer Phyphr, underground producer Tara Brooks, and funky producer/multi-instrumentalist Vincent Antone.

With an equal dedication to band-focused sounds, Cascade Equinox will display an assortment of acclaimed acts including folk-americana and roots outfit Gone Gone Beyond, funk-five piece The Main Squeeze, progressive funk and psych rock-infused afro-beat band Polyrhythmics, four-piece jam and funk band Eggy, and future groove trio lespecial.

Cascade Equinox also promises to highlight regional acts by creating a full local stage dedicated to showcasing artists from the Pacific Northwest.

Cascade Equinox Festival will also offer a bevy of activities and programming, including a vendor marketplace, workshops, kids zones, carnival rides, culinary commons, a healing sanctuary, yoga, beer and wine tastings, interactive art installations and live art. More details coming soon.

Suwannee Hulaween has revealed alternative indie-rock band Rainbow Kitten Surprise as the festival’s secret headliner ahead of the festival’s tenth anniversary celebration edition. Hulaween is returning once again to the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida from Thursday, October 26 - Sunday, October 29, 2023.

Hulaween is one of the last truly-independent, large-scale music festivals thriving amongst today’s corporatized concert landscape, and after selling out its last five editions (and already almost 80% sold out for this year’s event), the festival is commemorating a decade of success with its most impressive lineup yet.

This year's Hulaween is one of the very few places that fans will be able to see electro-soul pioneer Pretty Lights, who is headlining the festival following a five-year music hiatus. His exclusive East Coast festival set at Hulaween promises to showcase vibrant, bass-fueled sounds to the festival’s feverish audience.

Other headliners include Hulaween founders The String Cheese Incident, Phish-offshoot Trey Anastasio Band, critically-acclaimed indie-jam five piece Goose, Hulaween staple Joe Russo’s Almost Dead (2 sets), tech-house maestro John Summit, five-piece indie rock band Mt. Joy, producer polymath Big Wild, neo-soul rapper Smino, GRAMMY-nominated multi-instrumentalist/producer Elderbrook, revered house producer/vocalist Channel Tres, the Hulaween debut of Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade, and legendary roots-rock outfit Dispatch.

Hulaween has also announced that Rainbow Kitten Surprise bassist/vocalist Charlie Holt will be doing an individual DJ set (as Harleigh Colt), as will The String Cheese Incident percussionist Jason Hann (as The League Of Sound Disciples).

Additionally, Hulwaeen 2023 will also feature sets from the other The String Cheese Incident side projects (including Bill & Jilian Nershi ft. Jason Hann, Kyle Hollingsworth Band, and Snakes & Stars) to go along with the full band’s 6 total sets across the festival.

The festival will also feature support performances from Lettuce, BLOND:ISH, Eprom, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Gioli & Assia, Altin Gün, ISOxo, Moore Kismet, Blu DeTiger, Manic Focus, Lab Group, Yung Bae, and many more.

Four years later, the three-piece remerged with their galvanizing 2021 album, Bonfires. The 10-track LP, which began its recording process during the summer of 2020, found the evolved trio stretching their boundaries with bold, intoxicating arrangements fueled by swirling synthesizers and anthemic hooks.

The Bonfires release was followed up by a reunion tour, with stops in cities like Los Angeles, Denver, San Diego, and Boulder, and at festivals such as Gem & Jam Festival and Summer Camp Music Festival.  With a sense of rejuvenation coursing through the air, Jimkata fans were treated to an uplifting and liberatory live show as the band celebrated the success of their new album and the unbounded joy of a comeback tour.

Now, the band unveils Many Miles: A Short Jimkata Film - mini-doc that chronicles the entire Bonfires journey. What started as a travel-log of Jimkata’s 2022 West Coast tour turned into a broader story about their return from a four year hiatus and the making of Bonfires. Filmmaker Dylan Avery (who came onto the scene in 2021 with his film Asteroid) traveled along with the band for their first time in California, capturing the ins and outs of touring in a world still climbing out of the pandemic.

Full of never-before-seen footage, interviews, and backstage antics, Many Miles is a short introspective about the band's experiences during this time.

Following an in-person premiere in their home hometown of Ithaca last Saturday, the short film just released via YouTube. Watch it here.

Many Miles releases ahead of a 10-stop Jimkata tour, which will see the group play in cities such as Denver, Pittsburgh, and Cleveland, as well as at festivals like GrassRoot and Whirlybird.

Jimkata tour dates

The inaugural The Miracle In Mundelein event is set to make history as Illinois’ first music concert to permit onsite cannabis consumption. Taking place Saturday, September 9 - Sunday, September 10, 2023 outside of Chicago across the street from RISE Mundelein in Mundelein, IL, The Miracle will be a two-day event merging music and cannabis cultures.

Presented by RYTHM Premium Cannabis, Sacred Rose, and Dayglo Presents, The Miracle promises to be an unforgettable celebration of cannabis, music, art that fosters camaraderie across communities.

The two-day event will span multiple genres, offering up a cultural mix of hip-hop, jam, reggae and funk artists. On Saturday, the lineup includes legendary, multi-platinum hip-hop group Cypress Hill, underground rap icon, cannabis enthusiast, chef, and media personality Action Bronson, eight-time GRAMMY-winning reggae artist Stephen Marley doing a rare, full-band acoustic set, and local artist DJ Papa G. Sunday’s lineup includes world-class jam acts such as Grateful Dead offshoot Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, funk-fusion group Lettuce, jam/experimental bassist Karina Rykman, and Chicago DJ Mitch Please.

In addition to the acutely curated music programming, The Miracle will offer attendees singular non-music experiences such as a dab bar, cannabis beverage garden, joint rolling, chilled bongs, and more.

"It is no surprise there is a rich and deep history between music and cannabis. We believe that the two together can create more connectivity, positivity, and well-being," says Ben Kovler, CEO of Green Thumb Industries. "The Miracle is our way of celebrating this unique intersection — with amazing music, high-quality weed, and a welcoming community. We are excited to put on an incredible show while providing a safe, legal space for cannabis consumption for everyone 21 and over.”

While cannabis sales will not be permitted inside of the event, The Miracle will take place across from a Green Thumb dispensary, so patrons can conveniently purchase their cannabis products beforehand to enjoy onsite. All cannabis products being brought into The Miracle must be sealed.

Michael Berg, Founder of Sacred Rose Presents, says, “After decades of providing live music experiences, and as a long-time advocate for the medical benefits and recreational adult use of cannabis, contributing to this event is an honor and a special moment for the collective community in Illinois and the Chicagoland area. Growing up and attending high school only one town over and seeing how far things have evolved over the past 3 decades, it’s truly a miracle that we’re able to create such a unique and first-of-its-kind concert. Our extended team has worked closely with the village of Mundelein to ensure The Miracle is equal parts safe and fun for all attendees to celebrate the culture with performances from artists who align with the lifestyle.”

Peter Shapiro, Founder of Dayglo Presents, expressed his excitement, stating, "Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of producing many live music events, but this is truly a first.  The Miracle in Mundelein is more than just a concert, it is a testament to the relationship that music and legal cannabis can have when brought together in the right way. We named the event, The Miracle, because it really is remarkable that we can now bring cannabis and music together in 2023, and it is permitted and legal. Our goal is to create a new type of event, which showcases the uplifting impact of cannabis in a legal environment, while also supporting and growing a real community."

The Miracle will take place across the street from RISE Dispensary Mundelein, located at 1325 Armour Blvd, Mundelein, IL 60060. The event is strictly for individuals aged 21 and above, with on-premise consumption permitted.

Pre-sale registration for tickets is now open, offering exclusive access to secure a limited spot at The Miracle. General admission tickets will be available on June 8th. Single day passes are $69 for General Admission, and $178 for VIP. Two-day passes are also available for $129 for General Admission, and $346 for VIP.

The Denver-based, ADA-inclusive Shine Music Festival is returning for its third edition on Saturday, August 26 at Reelworks Denver.

The non-profit festival - which will follow its successful 2022 event in Civic Center Park - will unite people of all abilities and backgrounds for a transformative live music experience.

As opposed to typical music festivals which relegate ADA attendees to barricaded-off sections, Shine Music Festival welcomes ADA patrons and able-bodied fans to intermingle fluidly and collectively.

By innovatively blending traditional festival structures alongside comprehensive accessibility measures and state-of-the-art adaptive technology, Shine Music Festival will offer a truly universal space where everyone can cohesively revel in the healing power of music together.

Headlining Shine Music Festival 2023 is Denver-based jamtronica trio SunSquabi, as well as Neal Evans Fro Down - a rotating musical supergroup led by Dopapod-drummer Neal Evans, with this edition featuring Thievery Corporation-bassist Dan Africano, bassist Felix Pastorius (son of jazz bassist legend Jaco Pastorius), British-pianist Harry Waters (son of Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters), guitarist Enmanuel Alexander, saxophonist Nick Gerlach, and vibraphonist/percussionist Greg Harris.

The indoor/outdoor festival will boast a plethora of adaptive features and safety measures (rarely employed by other event organizers) that allow ADA attendees to groove alongside their able-bodied counterparts. Shine Music Festival will feature a bone conduction, vibrotactile dancefloor from Feel The Beat, which allows users to feel sound through vibrational energy. The festival will also provide closed-captioning glasses from Xrai Glass, which allow deaf or hard of hearing guests to see subtitles from anywhere across the venue. Another inclusive offering will be the Full Body Sound devices, which translate music from the soundboard into tactile audio stimulations. The Sensory Club will additionally implement sensory zones for neurodivergent guests prone to overstimulation. Uniquely, Shine Music Festival is proud to be the first and only music festival with braille merchandise.

Shine Music Festival is a donation-optional event, ensuring that anyone can attend - regardless of financial constraints.

“65% of people with disabilities are unemployed due to government and social factors beyond their control. So our Universally Designed Festival offers optional donation ticketing, bridging the gap between accessibility and inclusion. By embracing this inclusive approach, we empower everyone to enjoy the magic of music, while your generous donations drive change for individuals with disabilities, ensuring they're not held back by outdated policies and misconceptions.” - Shawn Satterfield, Shine Music Festival founder/president.

Shine Music Festival will also feature a bevy of community partners such as Healing With Harmony, which enlists therapists who provide music-related activities that create a soothing oasis for rejuvenation and emotional well-being.

After the main event concludes, Shine Music will host a special afterparty in the same venue from 8 p.m. - 1 a.m., featuring acts such as enigmatic melodic house artist Tantok and Since JulEYE, the collaborative project between DJ/producer Lev Averbackh and veteran keyboardist Todd Stoops (RAQ, Kung-Fu). The afterhours lineup also includes DJs such as Zac Black, Hollows, and Codes.

While Shine Music Festival is donation-optional,100% of proceeds will go towards continuing Shine Music's mission to make live music accessible for all.

Both free and donation-based tickets are available now

The inaugural Miracle In Mundelein event, which will soon make history as Illinois’ first concert to permit onsite cannabis consumption, has unveiled its Canna FAQ - a list of festival guidelines regarding cannabis consumption, purchasing, and more.

Taking place Saturday, September 9 - Sunday, September 10, 2023 outside of Chicago across the street from RISE Mundelein in Mundelein, IL,  and presented by RYTHM Premium Cannabis, Sacred Rose, and Dayglo Presents, The Miracle will be a two-day event merging music and cannabis cultures - an unforgettable celebration of cannabis, music, art that fosters camaraderie across communities.

The Miracle lineup spans multiple genres, offering up a cultural mix of hip-hop, jam, reggae and funk artists. On Saturday, the lineup includes legendary, multi-platinum hip-hop group Cypress Hill, underground rap icon, cannabis enthusiast, chef, and media personality Action Bronson, eight-time GRAMMY-winning reggae artist Stephen Marley, and local artist DJ Papa G. Sunday’s lineup includes world-class jam acts such as Grateful Dead offshoot Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, funk-fusion group Lettuce, jam/experimental bassist Karina Rykman, and Chicago DJ Mitch Please.

For attendees curious about how the festival’s onsite cannabis consumption will work, The Miracle’s Canna FAQ outlines the event’s various cannabis experiential elements, rules, and purchase opportunities.

Cannabis consumption is allowed anywhere within The Miracle, and there will be multiple Rolling Stations across the festival grounds. Rolling Stations will come with couches to relax in, as well as high-top tables replete with complimentary grinders, lighters, papers, and rolling trays. Bongs or glass pieces will not be provided.

In addition to the rolling stations, there will be Dab Bars onsite, which will supply electronic rigs for attendees to consume their own concentrate. The rigs will be cleaned by The Miracle staff between each use, and patrons are not allowed to bring their own dab rigs or torches.

The Miracle attendees can bring in their own cannabis supply, and the festival will follow the out-of-state recreational limits within Illinois (15g flower, 250mg edibles, 2.5g concentrates per person). All cannabis must be purchased from an Illinois dispensary and be in the original packaging. The packaging does not have to be sealed.

As far as smoking devices that can be brought in, attendees can bring their own water or non-water-based pieces, but they can’t be longer than 6 inches and must be made from the following materials: electronic (Pax, Dr. Dabber, Puffco etc), glass, metal, wood, or ceramic. Attendees can also bring in pens with refillable concentrate, as well as pre-filled pens and disposables, as long as they comply with the out-of-state regulations.

For purchasing cannabis, the popular RISE Mundelein dispensary is mere feet away from the festival entrance. Products are best purchased before entry, as only a small number of patrons will be allowed to scan out to restock their supply and re-enter.

Alcoholic, hemp-derived, and non-alcoholic beverages will all be available to purchase, as well as a bevy of food vendors.

Suwannee Hulaween will celebrate its tenth-year anniversary from Thursday, October 26 - Sunday, October 29, 2023, returning home to the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida. As one of the last truly independent, large-scale music festivals thriving amongst today’s corporatized concert landscape and selling out its last five events, Hulaween will commemorate a decade of success with one of the most exciting editions yet.

Headliners for the 2023 edition include six sets from festival founders The String Cheese Incident, Trey Anastasio Band, Goose, John Summit, Elderbrook, Big Wild, Channel Tres, Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Smino, Dispatch, and an exclusive East Coast festival appearance from Pretty Lights with 2 sets.

The String Cheese Incident at Hulaween 2022

Hulaween’s coveted Spirit Lake is heralded as one of the leading immersive art experiences across American festivals, brimming with talented sculptors, fire/metal workers, painters, thespians, and lighting designers. Attendees can revel in lakefront projection mapping, hypnotizing light shows, interactive installations with both visual and performance art, and catch performances at Spirit Lake’s four stages.

To celebrate the decade milestone, Spirit Lake has unveiled a comprehensive list of art programming for the first time in Hulaween’s history. While the festival would typically keep all art programming a secret for attendees until they arrived on-site, this year each artist and art collective will be credited across the festival app, website, onsite signage, and more.

Spirit Lake at Hulaween 2022

There are a number of Spirit Lake classics that will be returning for Hulaween’s 2023 edition including the highly-anticipated daily projection mapping from professionals Jasper & Shelby Mosher.

Hulaween fan-favorite and highly recognized art stage concept Incendia from Cory Glenn will return to once again ignite the dancefloor. Serving as one of the stages of Spirit Lake, Incendia’s unique design utilizes a proprietary fire-capturing technique to create an illuminating glow that provides an unparalleled ambiance for the crowd.

Incendia at Hulaween 2022

The infamous Frick Frack Black Jack led by Marvelous Marv will once again return to Hulaween as the no cash, no limit blackjack game. The Frick Frack brand has grown to land across various festivals across the United States and continues to provide an enthralling and quirky experience for attendees.

Frick Frack Black Jack at Hulaween 2022

The Mural Maze collection originated at the debut edition of Hulaween and has continued to grow in size over the past decade. Sprawling across 15,000 square feet, this installation provides an immersive experience for attendees and exposure and growth for visual artists. This year’s Mural Maze will be led by Ania Amador. This year The Mural Maze is expanding to include lounge and workshop space Deliberate Creation Station, The Gallery displaying artwork, and the Hydration Station.

Paul Kuhn aka Twelve Limbs Art Studio will bring back the highly-captured large-scale sculptural pieces including the Witch, Ogres, The Ferryman, and more.

Ogre at Hulaween 2022

Duende Builds will bring back the sustainability-built Birdhouses to Hulaween which are crafted from locally harvested natural materials to create something organically beautiful for the festival’s vast art installation display.

Additional returning installations include Thomas Dambo’s The Spider, Efren Rebugio Jr & Chris Robertson’s Haunted House, Ashley Spero’s Spero Totems, Lost Creations’ House of Lost, and Spirit Lake deco design by RÜTS.

The Spider at Hulaween 2022

This year will feature a selection of 10 brand-new art installations and concepts that will contribute to making this the largest Spirit Lake ever.

Tyler Schrader will debut a double-sided, interactive, wooden LED sculpture known as The Cosmic Portal which will feature 5,000 LEDs with the other side projection-mapped. It is equipped with a device that detects electrical variations of plants, translating them into vibrations, audio, and visual experiences that encourage attendees to reconnect with nature through the use of technology.

Considered ambassadors of Mexico abroad, the monumental Alebrijes are created by mixing pictorial and sculptural elements of contemporary art by the artist Emanuel Zarate Ortiz. These breathtaking installations are meant to honor tales of traditional Mexican storytelling, and inspire spiritually expansive messages to the Hulaween attendees.

Essi Rhodes’ installation titled Chatterpillars will consist of two human-size caterpillars meant to inspire a change in perspective. Fans can interact with the installation by talking into the caterpillar's mouth so that a friend or stranger on the other side can hear their thoughts, creating a sort of childhood playground nostalgia.

In an effort to recycle those old style tube televisions, Save the TV’s Irregular Scheduled Programming will utilize these electronics to breathe life into a new display that strives to make people think twice before discarding junk and old electronics.

Subloominal & Voxeleyes will showcase interactive bioluminescent mushrooms in their Bioshroom display which are created by growing and foraging real mushrooms that are 3D scanned and digitally sculpted to be 3D printed. The artists then add LEDs and proximity sensors that will lend a unique visual component to Spirit Lake for Hulaween patrons.

Fans can look forward to more installations such as Daniel Shields’ UV reactive Portal Prism, Charlie BlackCat Smith’s flame-infused interactive steel sculpture, The Fleeble Flobbler, Tyson Ayers’ The Sound Cave, Gnome Village Minis from John Grillo, a unique Campground Stage Design from Hannah Miller and Justin Bolognino, and brand design + illustration from Young & Sick.

Projection mapping at Spirit Lake at Hulaween 2022

At the helm of this new era for Spirit Lake is the new Creative Director, Justin Bolognino who is the CEO and co-founder of META. The company creates live, multi-sensory experiences that use technology, design, and storytelling to ignite the human senses and spirit. Bolognino's previous work consists of designing immersive artistic experiences in collaboration with artists such as Skrillex, Phish, Questlove, Porter Robinson, Tiësto, and many more. In addition to working with musical acts, META also has various brand clients such as Google, Spotify, Samsung, Vimeo, and more. Gearing up for his first Hulaween edition as Spirit Lake’s Creative Director, Bolognino has fortified the classic installations that fans have come to know and love as well as curating 10 additional installations and experiences.

Spirit Lake has become such a vital part of Hulaween’s identity with its staggering list of art installations and activities that keep fans mesmerized year after year.

Hulaween has also just released the official 2023 schedule including the newly-announced second set from electro-soul pioneer Pretty Lights who will perform The Meadow Stage’s closing set on both Saturday and Sunday evening.

“The spirit and community of Summer Camp will remain, but we are excited to again push boundaries, as we did when we started Summer Camp, and expand the festival's mission by bringing the Solshine to the forefront. Soulshine had been the house of our Make a Difference program and sustainability efforts, so elevating that intentionality to the overall festival was a big part of the plan. Summer Camp had evolved into much more than a music festival, it was a community centered around music and art. I wanted to recognize that in the name by not calling it a festival but a Reverie full of music and arts, such that we all can create our experience together – and have that build intentionality in our actions once we leave.”  - Ian Goldberg, founder of Summer Camp and Solshine: A Music & Arts Reverie

Following an impressive 22-year run, the creators of Summer Camp Music Festival will enter an exciting new era in 2024 with their new festival concept: Solshine: A Music and Arts Reverie.

Over the years the festival also hosted a wide variety of music acts including Tom Petty, Zac Brown Band, Skrillex, Diplo, Run The Jewels, The Smashing Pumpkins, Jane’s Addiction, Billy Strings, Griz, Goose, Pretty Lights, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Subtronics, Primus, Willie Nelson & Family, Liquid Stranger, Common, De La Soul, The Flaming Lips, Papadosio, Phil Lesh And The Terrapin Family Band, Rebelution, REZZ, Slightly Stoopid, STS9, The Disco Biscuits, Excision, The Roots, Three 6 Mafia, Tipper, Trey Anastasio Band, Tycho, Zeds Dead and many more.

Looking toward the future while celebrating the past, Summer Camp’s organizers will channel their flagship event’s longstanding legacy into their new Solshine: A Music & Arts Reverie concept. Denver-based six piece jam band Eminence Ensemble has spent the last several years cultivating a strong fervent audience through their forward-thinking musical ideas. A live Denver-staple who have played Mission Ballroom, Cervantes, The Fillmore, and The Ogden a combined 15+ times, the genre-blending outfit have crafted a sound that combines free-flowing, virtuosic jam sensibilities with complex song structures, euphoric vocal harmonies, and vibrant electronic elements - a stylistic blend that’s led to over 400 shows over their career, including sets at Summer Camp Music Festival, Electric Forest, Burning Man, Gem & Jam, Same Same But Different, Wavespell, and many others. The band is also coming off an impressive 2023, which included performances with Scott Page (Pink Floyd), as well as a sit-in with Umphrey’s McGee by Eminence Ensemble drummer Tanner Bardin.

Eminence Ensemble

Now, Eminence Ensemble is gearing towards their new album, Inside Looking Out, a full-length project that promises to add new wrinkles into the band’s formula while retaining the core traits that make the outfit such a distinct voice in the jam world. Inside Looking Out will be the band’s first LP with new members Dylan Gleit (vocals/guitar/production/mixing, following his stint as the Emmy-award winning audio engineer for Mr. Robot) and Will Snyder (keyboard/synth), who join the original players/childhood friends Justin Neely (guitar/vocals), Nick Baum (vocals/percussion), Zac Flynn (bass/synth), and Tanner Bardin (drums).

As a result, Inside Looking Out showcases the band’s typical instrumental mastery and unique, vocal-forward approach while elevating their sonic presentation to new levels of immersion and grandiosity.

Today, Eminence Ensemble release the LP’s lead single, “Flipside,” a playful, uplifting track that combines the band’s penchant for catchy hook writing with funky, intricate arrangements. Written as an ode to that all-too-familiar feeling of wishing you were somewhere else - only to realize the grass isn’t always greener - the track’s jovial, humanist tone is a call to live in the moment and appreciate your surroundings.

"Flipside” kicks off with psychedelic guitar licks that dive into the song’s infectious central groove. Soulful falsetto vocals then glide over the lush instrumental before transitioning into the heavenly pre-chorus - a cathartic vocal section with soaring melodies and smooth, layered background singing.

Next, the track drops into its indelible chorus, a section filled with a rhythmic vocal delivery singing the title refrain - “catch you on the flipside” - before introducing group harmonies over the bouncy, dance-fueled instrumental. The track then rounds out with an epic, extended organ solo that’ll have listeners swaying to its swirling composition.

Lively and produced with wondrous, immaculate precision, “Flipside” is an acute example of Eminence Ensemble’s bold creative imagination - and portends an LP filled to the brim with similarly lavish soundscapes.

Fans can catch the band play “Flipside” during their upcoming Colorado shows in Grand Junction and Durango.

For Denver-based six-piece jam band Eminence Ensemble, camaraderie is everything.

Founded in Boulder by childhood friends Justin Neely (guitar/vocals), Nick Baum (vocals/percussion), Zac Flynn (bass/synth), and Tanner Bardin (drums), the group has become a live Denver-staple who have played Mission Ballroom, Cervantes, The Fillmore, and The Ogden a combined 15+ times - endearing themselves to audiences through a chemistry-rich sound that combines free-flowing, virtuosic jam sensibilities with complex song structures, euphoric vocal harmonies, and vibrant electronic elements.

This stylistic blend has ultimately led to over 400 shows over the band’s career, including sets at Summer Camp Music Festival, Electric Forest, Burning Man, Gem & Jam, Same Same But Different, Wavespell, and many others. The group is also coming off an impressive 2023, which included performances with Scott Page (Pink Floyd), as well as a sit-in with Umphrey’s McGee by Eminence Ensemble drummer Tanner Bardin.

During the pandemic, the band was looking for new members, but they weren’t looking for just any musician - they needed individuals who understood their vision and naturally melded with their group dynamic. This led to the absorption of Dylan Gleit (vocals/guitar/production/mixing, following his stint as the Emmy-award winning audio engineer for Mr. Robot) and Will Snyder (keyboard/synth) - two prodigious players who fit seamlessly into Eminence Ensemble’s pre-existing structure.

Now, the band is gearing up toward their first album with the new lineup: Inside Looking Out - a project that promises to add new wrinkles into the band’s formula while retaining the core traits that make the outfit such a distinct voice in the jam world.

Filled to the brim with infectious hooks and vibrant arrangements, Inside Looking Out sees the band at the peak of their songwriting prowess. The LP showcases the band’s typical instrumental mastery and unique, vocal-forward approach while elevating their sonic presentation to new levels of immersion and grandiosity - a result of a group finally at full-strength and in total control of their creative powers.

Listeners got their first taste of Inside Looking Out with the singles “Flipside” and “Already There” - two songs that exemplify the band’s ability to shift between funk, rock, and piano balladry with epic instrumental panache.

Today, Eminence Ensemble unveils “Believe It,” an uplifting track about changing your surroundings to maximize your potential. Infusing funky rhythms, cathartic vocals, and pristine instrumental layering with a swagger-fueled edge, “Believe It” tells a story of someone saying goodbye to a toxic situation - and showing how far he can go without the things holding him back.

“Believe It” is a song of two modes, starting with an initial, moody vibe. Kicking off with groovy, syncopated drum patterns underneath a set of slick bass lines, the track brings in slightly-distorted vocals from the song’s main character, singing “You’re only trying to bring me down/whatever you got/I know I’m better off without it” - detailing the moment our character realizes he needs to move on from a bad environment.

In the lush, irresistibly catchy pre-chorus, our main character sings over a bevy of slick guitar licks, singing, “Whatever you got, I don’t want it/figure it’s time to let you know,” before transitioning into the song’s other mode in the indelible hook - an epic section of organ playing, crunchy guitar lines, and grandiose vocal stacks.

This hook, combined with the sweeping, sumptuous guitar solo to close out the song, evoke our main character’s resolve - he stood up and walked away from an undesirable place, and never looked back.

The message of “Believe It” doubles as a reflection of Eminence Ensemble's tight-knit relationship. The band itself provides a supportive space for each of its members and nurtures their creativity; the confidence this instills can be heard in “Believe It”’s remarkably cohesive, fully-realized vision - a world you enter and never want to leave.

Denver-based six-piece jam outfit Eminence Ensemble is a band of dualities.

Founded in Boulder by childhood friends Justin Neely (guitar/vocals), Nick Baum (vocals/percussion), Zac Flynn (bass/synth), and Tanner Bardin (drums), the group has become a live Denver-staple, playing Mission Ballroom, Cervantes, The Fillmore, and The Ogden a combined 15+ times. They’re also an experienced studio project, endearing themselves to audiences through a vivid, chemistry-rich sound that combines free-flowing, virtuosic jam sensibilities with complex song structures, euphoric vocal harmonies, and vibrant electronic elements.

This stylistic blend has ultimately led to over 400 shows over the band’s career, including sets at Summer Camp Music Festival, Electric Forest, Burning Man, Gem & Jam, Same Same But Different, Wavespell, Camp Bisco, and many others. The group is also coming off an impressive 2023, which included performances with Scott Page (Pink Floyd), as well as a sit-in with Umphrey’s McGee by Eminence Ensemble drummer Tanner Bardin.

Contrasts exist within the band’s membership as well, which consists of both lifelong friends and recent additions.

During the pandemic, the band was looking for new members, but they weren’t looking for just any musician - they needed individuals who understood their vision and naturally melded with their group dynamic. This led to the absorption of Dylan Gleit (vocals/guitar/production/mixing, following his stint as the Emmy-award-winning audio engineer for Mr. Robot) and Will Snyder (a virtuosic Kansas City jazz pianist) - two prodigious players who fit seamlessly into Eminence Ensemble’s pre-existing structure.

Today, Eminence Ensemble unveil their newest LP, Inside Looking Out - an album that acutely reflects the band’s revamped identity. With new creative perspectives meshing with older stylistic tendencies, Inside Looking Out adds captivating wrinkles into the band’s formula while retaining the core traits that makes them such a distinct voice in the jam world.

Thematically, Inside Looking Out continues the band’s dueling nature, representing a time capsule of the lockdown era when people were isolated in their homes forced to look out at the world. This surface image is then filtered through the album’s central messaging - a thread of ruminations on everything from the minute details of daily life, to the changing structures of the music industry, society, and the world at large. From the interiority of the Eminence Ensemble project, the band uses music to analyze the revolving world around them - a grand exploration wrapped in galactic, psychedelic, and often very optimistic sonic atmospheres.

Aesthetically, Eminence Ensembles juxtaposes their jam lineage with tight pop sensibilities. Filled to the brim with infectious hooks and vibrant arrangements, the LP showcases the band’s typical instrumental mastery and unique, vocal-forward approach while elevating their sonic presentation to new levels of immersion and grandiosity - a result of a group finally at full strength and in total control of their creative powers.

Listeners got their first taste of Inside Looking Out with the singles “Flipside”, “Already There,” and “Believe It,” - three songs that exemplify the band’s ability to shift between funk, rock, and piano balladry with epic instrumental panache.

The rest of the album’s tracklist contains a similarly masterful grasp on creating genre-traversing, lavish musical experiences. The album kicks off with “Downtime,” a sumptuous journey that combines sweeping vocal passages with intricately arranged instrumental elements. Fun, loose, yet packed with different musical flavors and textures, “Downtime” oscillates between its cathartic chorus, fast-paced guitar harmonies, and reggae rhythms with ease.

Next is “Moonshine,” a swagger-filled, blues-inflected cut that blends its dancey grooves and syncopated vocal melodies into a sun-tinged romp. Then there’s “5th Of July,” a space-rock odyssey that implements precise vocal layering and harmonic arrangements to create an appropriately extraterrestrial vibe.

Later in the tracklist is “Love In An Instant,” a romantic song that intermingles 70s-rock inspirations with a soulful R&B stylistic twist. Filled with a blazing horn section that perfectly complements its sultry instrumental palette and melodies, “Love In An Instant” contributes to the album’s overall dynamic range.

After that is “Gettin’ Old,” a nostalgic cut that uses its acoustic guitar chord progressions, bittersweet, catchy vocal melodies, and spacious piano and electric guitar layers to invoke a heart-tugging but ultimately uplifting tone.

Inside Looking Out is then rounded out by “Somehow” and “Here,” two tracks that close out the LP’s sonic journey in emotionally fulfilling fashion. The former track is a soaring cut that transitions its euphoric vocal melodies into a nearly three-minute instrumental section filled with precise guitar playing, Latin rhythm, and driving persuasive elements; the latter is a brief outro blending field recordings with twangy acoustic guitar, tying a neat bow onto the thrilling inside Looking Out listening road trip.

Eminence Ensemble will be playing tracks off of Inside Looking Out tracks throughout their upcoming tour, which includes dates with the renowned jazz-fusion outfit The Motet for a string of support performances.

The creators behind Summer Camp Music Festival have just released the star-studded Phase 2 lineup for their new festival concept: Solshine: A Music and Arts Reverie.

The event’s inaugural edition will take place at Summer Camp’s beloved venue of Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, Illinois from Friday, May 24 - Sunday, May 26, 2024, with a pre-party on Thursday, May 23.

Solshine Reverie’s Phase 2 lineup will welcome acts such as Philadelphia-bred jamtronica outfit The Disco Biscuits, who are returning to the festival following their electrifying 2023 performance, as well as the festival debuts of Femme House-boss LP Giobbi (performing a Dead House set), and Gaspar Benegas & L.A Argentinians from Indio Solari.

These additional acts join previously-announced headliners Goose, John Summit, The String Cheese Incident, Umphrey’s McGee, moe., STS9, deadmau5, Big Gigantic, and SLANDER.

Continuing Summer Camp’s long-standing tradition, Solshine: A Music & Arts Reverie will feature a collaborative set from the festival co-hosts legendary jam rock band moe. and iconic genre-melding progressive rock band Umphrey’s McGee.

Solshine Reverie has also added a bevy of support talent, including debut festival performances from Josh Teed, Vampa, Venbee, Bad Snacks, Blue Future, DJ Logic, Esseks, Mantra Sounds, Thought Process, Night Tales, and Alika.

Summer Camp veteran performers like SunSquabi, Buku, A Hundred Drums, Artifakts, COFRESI, Motifv, 20Twenty, Charlie Otto + His Gear and Henhouse Prowlers also join Solshine’s Phase 2 lineup.

As Summer Camp transitions into the Solshine Reverie era, the festival is staying true to its new name by updating its layout to create an experience akin to entering a reverie -  a dreamlike state. The streamlined festival navigation will be reflected in the event’s increased intentionality; while Solshine will maintain the central spirit of Summer Camp, the refurbished festival will come with a few meaningful changes.

Solshine Reverie has updated Summer Camp’s previous stage layout to create a more fruitful, efficient experience for guests. For example, instead of three mainstages, there will only be two; by removing the Sunshine and Starshine Mainstages, Solshine Reverie is fostering a greater emphasis on the Moonshine Stage and the Campfire Stage (which is being elevated to the size of the previous Starshine Stage). This consolidation allows for a seamless transition between genres on both stages, and allows for less overall overlap so attendees can see exactly who they want.

Additionally, all workshops will now take place at the SOULPATCH - the festival’s interactive garden space and natural amphitheater. By committing this area to the event’s non-music programming, festival-goers will have a familiar, centralized space to attend various offerings and activities before heading back to the stages to check out more music.

In other exciting news, the festival’s official mainstage curfew is now being extended from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. This additional time will allow guests to experience even more music at Solshine’s biggest hub, before heading back to their campgrounds.

Despite these changes, Solshine will ultimately retain Summer Camp’s core ethos of building an inclusive community around music. Through its mission of sustainability, the festival will aim to inspire attendees to live a life of intention and purpose in order to create a positive impact on the world. To capture this spirit, the festival will host the coveted experiential art area The Illumination Woods and the aforementioned permanent garden SOULPATCH as a dedicated area to increase knowledge of permaculture and sustainability.

Located in The Illumination Woods, Frick Frack Blackjack will return to Three Sisters Park for Solshine’s debut edition. The no-cash, no-limit game has become a fan-favorite across the festival landscape for its unique gambling experience.

In addition to its music programming, Solshine will offer a variety of workshops, food and craft vendors, community-building initiatives, and activities - the heart and soul of what made Summer Camp a ‘home away from home’ for attendees who returned year after year.

Solshine’s programming will include Summer Camp’s beloved Field Day, which will take place on Saturday afternoon for the 14th installment. The Color Wars-style games will include four teams participating in games such as tug of war, giant twister, dodgeball, donut eating contest, and more.

The Summer Camp Music Festival Community Contribution Fund will be a vital part of the new festival concept as well. For every full-price admission ticket purchased for Solshine: A Music & Arts Reverie, $1.50 is set aside and put into the Community Fund to directly benefit the City of Chillicothe and surrounding cities. A committee consisting of local Chillicothe area residents will recommend how the funds will be distributed.

There are a plethora of ways to get involved with Solshine Reverie. Applications are now open for anyone who would like to volunteer, become a vendor or performer, set up a workshop, create an art installation, or work with SOULPATCH. There will also be future applications for those who would like to partner their non-profit with the festival or create a live art gallery. Applications and information on how to get involved is available on the Solshine website here.

The inaugural Solshine will continue the brand’s longstanding Memorial Day Weekend affair at the breathtaking Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, Illinois. The private park provides a natural amphitheater and a stunning landscape that creates the perfect scenic playground for festival-goers to explore. Attendees can also camp within the festival grounds, further elevating the festival’s community-oriented make-up.

All Solshine tickets will have camping included. There are a variety of additional add-ons available including VIP upgrades as well as RV and car camping spots. The VIP upgrade includes exclusive amenities, access to the Thursday pre-party, VIP camping and viewing areas, VIP lounge, air-conditioned bathrooms, and more.

Building upon the triumph of its debut edition in 2023, seasoned event organizers Gem & Jam and 4 Peaks Presents have just announced the eagerly anticipated lineup of Cascade Equinox's 2024 edition. Set amidst the tranquil landscapes of the Deschutes County Fairgrounds in Redmond, Oregon, the cross-genre festival will once again captivate attendees from Friday, September 20 - Sunday, September 22, 2024.

Cascade Equinox has revealed a remarkable initial lineup for its sophomore year, showcasing a diverse array of acts that mirror both the vibrant community and stunning surroundings of the festival's Central Oregon location. With a mission to connect with music lovers from all walks of life, the event seamlessly blends jam, electronic, funk, soul, and bluegrass genres, promising a rich and varied musical experience.

Earlier this month, the festival began to release a wide array of headliners via social media, starting with French trailblazer CloZee, and continuing with additional headliners such as fan-favorite psychedelic band STS9, UK dance duo Jungle, electronic musician and YouTuber Marc Rebillet, Wakaan label boss Liquid Stranger, and Portland-based musicians John Craigie & The Shook Twins.

Now, the festival reveals a handful of exciting support acts including hip-hop supergroup Deltron3030, alternative pop music duo NEIL FRANCES, producer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist Poolside, genre-melding bass maestro Barclay Crenshaw, versatile electro-soul artist Daily Bread, electro-twang outfit Dirtwire, electro-funk duo The Floozies, folk-infused bluegrass quartet Kitchen Dwellers, and Denver-based jamtronica trio SunSquabi. Additional acts gracing the Cascade Equinox lineup are experimental bass producer Ravenscoon, Los Angeles-based house act Justin Jay, American hip-hop virtuoso Sol, funk five-piece The Motet, and queer DJ and rapper Wreckno.

Cascade Equinox will also welcome additional support acts including Assembly of Dust, Cliche, Cytrus, Dizgo, Free Creatures, Goodnight Texas, Goopsteppa, Häana, High Step Society, Karina Rykman, Late Night Radio, Living Roots, Noetik the Alchemist, Madeline Hawthorne, parkbreezy, Ryan Montbleau Band, Spunj, Sugarbeats, Talking Dead, Willdabeast, Wolfchild, Zach Darling, Billy & The Box Kid, Blackstrap Bluegrass, Call Down Thunder, DJPK, Feathered Indians, Fractal, Gonzofuze, Heaven Zest, Joel Chadd, Leadbetter Band, Majitope, Smokestack Lightning, Quattelbaum, Skillethead, Smokovich, Stealhead, Sunsei, Takimba, TEB, The Flying Skulls, The Hasbens, Tony Inorbit, and Tyler Spencer.

The first-ever Cascade Equinox boasted more than 50 acts that spanned the genre spectrum, such as Pretty Lights (marking his first music festival after his 5-year hiatus), Big Wild, Goose, Phantogram, Trevor Hall & The Great In Between, Of The Trees, Emancipator, and many more.

In a show of unity with its local community, Cascade Equinox is teaming up with the Pacific Northwest's renowned Summer Meltdown Festival, in an exciting grassroots collaboration known as the “Melty Migration.” Following a hiatus in 2023 to secure a new venue, both festivals have decided to join forces to create an even more spectacular experience that will be showcased at Cascade Equinox.

The festival is gearing up for an even bigger second year with a wide variety of experiential programming and activations throughout the Deschutes County Fairgrounds, in addition to its star-studded lineup.

Cascade Equinox Festival will offer a bevy of activities and programming, including a vendor marketplace, workshops, kids zones, a roller rink, carnival rides, culinary commons, a healing sanctuary, yoga, beer and wine tastings, interactive art installations and live art. It will also have wellness experiences such as the Oasis Bath House that includes luxurious boutique showers, and options for enjoying a sauna and cold plunge.

Deschutes County Fairgrounds is the Pacific Northwest’s premier event facility and venue. With sweeping panoramic views of snow-capped mountain peaks, trees, and a creek running through its 340-acre space, Cascade Equinox promises a vast, naturalistic music festival unlike any other.

The festival will offer various camping options, including glamping in the Alpenglow Campground. The centrally-located, boutique campground is just a stone’s throw away from the festival’s epicenter, making it the perfect basecamp for festival-goers who want to immerse themselves in the excitement while also enjoying the comfort and convenience of premium accommodations.

The Alpenglow Campground will offer amenities such as sponsor-activated happy hours, phone charging stations, yard games, dressing room and private areas to get ready, a lounge with music, premium bathrooms, concierge services, a separate private check-in, and a premium parking pass for one vehicle. This campground area will be fenced off with security guards and will have a prime location on grass.

Cascade Equinox Festival will also offer Expo Center RV Park for RV hookups, as well as areas for dry RVs, car camping, walk-in camping, and basic camping packages. All onsite accommodation packages, as well as off-site hotel packages, are available here.

Attendees who have already bought a 3-Day GA pass to the festival have the opportunity to purchase the The Inner Circle upgrade ($249 per person), which will give VIP access to:
