Grammy-winning R&B singer/songwriter Leon Bridges and the otherworldly Houston trio Khruangbin released their collaborative Texas Moon EP, a follow-up to 2020’s acclaimed Texas Sun, recently with praise from The New York Times, NPR, Vulture, Uproxx and more. Today, the pairing shares an animated video for the EP’s sultry slowjam “Chocolate Hills,” a stripped-down song that highlights Bridges’ voice amidst its very own Willy Wonka-treatment.

Two of the acts boldly leading Texas music into the future have delivered a second chapter of their groundbreaking collaboration, further extending the region’s sonic possibilities. Grammy-winning R&B singer/songwriter Leon Bridges, from Ft. Worth, and trailblazing Houston trio Khruangbin have joined for their Texas Moon EP, a follow-up to 2020’s acclaimed Texas Sun.

Khruangbin and Leon Bridges know the time and place for a big production, with a wealth of material that crosses genres, honors multi-cultures, generations and sees the latter tapping fellow modern-day R&B savants. Today, on the pairings’ new song “Chocolate Hills,” the artists embrace spacey sensuality, as Bridges’ honeyed tones ooze into the song’s steady bassline, swirling guitar, Hammond organ and synthesizer.

Khruangbin and Leon Bridges today announce their latest collaborative EP, Texas Moon out February 18th on Dead Oceans, in partnership with Columbia Records and Night Time Stories Ltd. An extension of the two’s chart-topping four-song Texas Sunjourney, Texas Moon is an introspective stroll through the dark.

After a tumultuous and trying year away, the amazing and one of a kind musical and artistic event Suwannee Hulaween will return this year, set to take place once again in Live Oak, Florida from October 27 through October 31. In a land of big time festivals, Hulaween is one of the best.

This evening, Houston, Texas' Khruangbin, the band that’s known for serving up a rich, genre-blurring combination of Thai funk, bass-stepped Tarantino soundtracks and surf-rock cool will make their national TV debut on Austin City Limits, performing songs off their 2020 album 'Mordechai (Dead Oceans, in association with Late Night Stories).
