Pigeons Playing Ping Pong

On a cold, sleepy midweek night in February, two of the country’s best jam bands descended on the Fremont Theater in San Luis Obispo. Pigeons Playing Ping Pong and the growing like wildfire Goose were on an extended tour that included two sold-out nights at the legendary Troubadour club in Los Angeles, just a few nights before. A pair of Seattle fans that had been following the band across the southwest for the previous seven shows were pleasantly surprised to find a half-full venue at this stop in the rural college town of SLO.

Baltimore-based social media company Phantasy Tour today officially unveiled their first series of live music trading cards. These high quality, collectible trading cards feature photos of top touring bands from various musical genres. The front of each card displays a photo of the musician or band and the back includes biographical information, fun facts, trivia questions and a foil stamp of authenticity. An online catalog of all cards in the series is available at https://phantasy.cards.

Fanatic would only begin to describe the enthusiasm with which devotees of Jam Band community staples Goose and Pigeons Playing Ping Pong brought to Los Angels’ historic Troubadour for the second and final night of their weekend residency. The line stretched the full block and around the corner an hour before Goose was set to take the stage.

Umphrey’s McGee are no strangers to the high-elevation rock and roll workout that is Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO, having hosted raucous evenings as the headlining band numerous times over the past decade. With no signs of slowing down, UM are charging right into the next ten years with a three-night run at the fan- and band-favorite venue on June 19, 20, and 21, 2020. And like any good party, this one would be incomplete without a host of funky friends.

“We went from a lengthy tour straight into the studio to record Presto,” says PPPP guitarist and vocalist, Greg Ormont, “and I think that had a big impact on the sound. We had just finished playing a lot of these songs on the road, and that experience made our performances on the album so much more confident, lively and electric.”

Today, Bonnaroo reveals the initial lineup for the 19th annual edition of the internationally acclaimed four-day multi-stage camping festival set to take place June 11 – 14 at Great Stage Park, the spectacular 700-acre farm and event space located just 60 miles southeast of Nashville in Manchester, TN.

Last year, Domefest, the annual Pigeons Playing Ping Pong-hosted festival, celebrated 10 years by moving to a new home and welcoming their largest crowd to date. Domefest will return for its 11th consecutive year on May 14-16, 2020 at Marvin's Mountaintop in Masontown, WV.
