Starting on Thursday, October 31st, the band will kick off their three-night Halloween run in Boston, MA at the House Of Blues and are joined by Andy Frasco and The U.N. The following night, on Friday, November 1st, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong takes the party to New York, NY for a debut performance at Playstation Theatre and on Saturday, November 2nd, the three-night Halloween run concludes at College Street Music Hall in New Haven, CT with support from Goose.

Music-fan tribes of all stripes gathered for the Independence Day weekend to luxuriate in the 29th annual High Sierra Music Festival in tiny Quincy, California, basking in the music, vibes, joy, and friendships old and new. I made a wish on the Zoltar fortune Telling machine. I wished I could unwind and rewind back to the glory days. I wished my youth wasn’t wasted when I was young. I wished to be me, free of worry, like the days of childhood Summer Camp, adventurous and curious, exploring the wonders of nature.

Despite the weather forecasts throughout the few days prior to the event, mother nature decided she’d cooperate with the city of Cincinnati last weekend as Bunbury Music Festival took place at Yeatman’s Cove and Sawyer Point. The venue sits along the Ohio River, with three of Cincinnati’s bridges and several skyscrapers looming above the stages.  Northern Kentucky’s neighborhoods sit just across the river, providing the perfect backdrop for an urban music festival.

In just a couple of months, on July 18-21, North Plains, Oregon will see the return of one of the country’s premier bluegrass and roots music festivals, Northwest String Summit. Hosted every year by presiding band Yonder Mountain String Band, the four-day event will see top-billing sets from other veteran performers like The Infamous Stringdusters and Trampled By Turtles, as well as invite newcomers from across the musical spectrum, like Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Dark Star Orchestra, Galactic and more.  

So, I’m breaking out my camping gear - cleaning out the tent, waterproofing it, freshening up the sleeping bag.  It’s the weekend before Summer Camp Music Festival! Recently, I caught Pigeons Playing Ping Pong and Twiddle on the Road to Red Rocks, and they were on fire! Twiddle is new to me. I really enjoyed the vibe going on between these two east coast bands.  They both are playing Summer Camp festival on a seemingly relentless touring schedule.
