How lucky the creators of Aqualung; Ian Anderson, and Martin Barre; came halfway across the world to a 65 Million year old red stone amphitheater in Colorado under a cool early June evening sky, to recreate one of the seminal rock albums in history.

1968. Oakland, California. R & B, funk and soul legends Tower of Power kept reminding us of their roots all throughout their show at the Boulder Theatre on August 7, 2011. A much older crowd populated the Boulder Theater on this evening, another indication of the band’s longevity.

On June 5th Bright Eyes played the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver for what many fans thought would be their last Colorado appearance.

As I eagerly anticipated INXS’ show at Denver’s Ogden Theatre, I will admit that I didn’t know if I was going to witness an act that was well past its prime and just going through the motions.

A man in the will-call line commented that he flew in from North Carolina to catch this show. Another girl drove for at least 30 hours from Connecticut to Morrison, Colorado, ticket in hand, to see one of the greatest forces in music play one of the most amazing venues on the circuit.
