The late Jerry Garcia would have turned 75 on August 1st and 22 years after his passing on August 9, 1995, his cultural impact has yet to reach its apex. Nationwide celebrations, concerts, commemorations and archival releases continue to honor his one-of-a-kind legacy throughout the year.

It’s bewildering how many devoted fans are out there of late guitar and American music icon Jerry Garcia that never saw him play a single show. Yet they know all about the live music of Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia Band. They can explore the evolutions and changes in form, structure, and exploration. This is of course due to the tireless efforts of band insider sound technicians and the extended taper culture that surrounded.

On August 1st, Jerry Garcia would be turning 75 years old. Five dynamic acts come will come together at historic Club Passim, joining musicians and fans around the world to celebrate  and remember the legacy of Jerry Garcia as a songwriter, guitarist, and roots music explorer– with the Grateful Dead and beyond.

In celebration of what would have been Jerry Garcia’s 75th birthday, the GarciaLive series continues on with perhaps their most diverse entry yet. On June 28th, Round Records/ATO will release GarciaLive Volume Nine: August 11, 1974 Keystone Berkeley. The iconic guitarist was on a roll, building his rapport as a solo artist separately from the Grateful Dead for the first time since his early days as a folkie, playing dozens of gigs in California and beyond.

In the continued year-long celebration of the late Jerry Garcia’s 75th birthday, a special sold-out concert celebration has been announced for August 4 at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and GarciaLive Volume Nine: August 11, 1974 – Jerry Garcia & Merl Saunders (Round Records/ATO Records) is set for release on July 28.

Bob Weir will play a standalone date at the famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado with The Campfire Band—comprised of Bryan Devendorf, Scott Devendorf, Josh Kaufman, Steve Kimock and Jon Shaw. The date will mark Jerry Garcia’s 75th birthday.
