For the first time since the infamous lockdown, the Infamous Stringdusters are proud to be joining together this evening at 6p MT / 8p ET to present "Peace of Mind: Conversations and More." This hour-ish long segment will bring the band together as the 5-piece for open-ended chatter and music on the band's Facebook page. In addition, although the live stream will be free to watch, the band has recommended donations which will in part benefit a Positive Legacy fund, specific to the band's crew, which will be kickstarted by the band itself. More info and a link to the fund can be found here.

The Infamous Stringdusters released a cover of G. Love’s 1994 debut single, 'Cold Beverage,' in collaboration with G. Love himself. The song was recorded in Philadelphia back in October 2019 at Rittenhouse Soundworks over the course of a single-day session.

“I met G. Love a few years ago at my favorite local venue here on Long Island called Grey Horse Tavern,” shared Andy Falco of the Infamous Stringdusters. “Last fall [the band] wanted to head into the studio to record collaborations, so I reached out to G. and he was down. The Stringdusters were due in Philly for our annual Halloween show (where G. is originally from) and coincidentally he was going to be in town at the same time. We booked some time at Rittenhouse Soundworks which has a very cool old warehouse-looking live room, and tracked a bluegrass version of G. Love’s hit ‘Cold Beverage’. We did it live (aside from a few background vocals), and had such a blast hanging and making music with G, who is such a seasoned pro. It was really a special day in Philadelphia. [We] hope the fun we were having in the studio comes through in the track, enjoy!”

Fans may recall that G. Love sat in with the Dusters at their Halloween show at Theatre of Living Arts in Philadelphia last year immediately following the recording session for “Cold Beverage.”

“Andy Falco and I met and jammed at the Grey Horse Tavern a couple years back with Ron Artis during my BeachSide Blues tour,” said G. Love. “We’ve kept in touch since then and when Andy suggested a collaboration with The Stringdusters I was over the moon. I was thinking either let’s cook something up from scratch or do a bonafide hit down home style. We decided to rock the Special Sauce hit Cold Beverage which has become one heck of a great drinking song over the years. I went down to Philly the day before Halloween as everybody was off before the Stringdusters’ Halloween show at the TLA so we had some studio time in Germantown (where I went to high school). We circled up and ran the song acoustic til we had a killer arrangement. We cut it live and nailed it in the first couple takes and added a few harmony vocal overdubs. The next night I sat in at the Stringdusters show and we debuted the collaboration to a full house. It was such a pleasure to get to work with these amazing musicians and I look forward to the jams to come.”

While the single releases today, fans can expect a full length music video to come out within the coming days.

Even with their normally heavy summer festival schedule sidelined due to COVID-19, the Stringdusters have continued to deeply nurture their fanbase through SDTV, their Tuesday and Thursday evening stream, Peace of Mind, the full-band Facebook Live hang and online music lesson offerings. Cut-to-heart folk rock sextet, Dustbowl Revival, are pleased to announce the release of a new single, “Beside You” available now across all streaming platforms.

“Beside You” was recorded initially in part of the Is it You, Is it Me sessions but as it presented a deep sentimental value, the band elected to release it as a stand-alone single, allowing it to stand on its own for listeners to feel its full emotion.

Its lyrics symbiotically weave together a passion for the music of the late Bill Withers with the sentiment of a true Dustbowl “feelings song.”

“The energy in this song is really who Dustbowl Revival is,” shared Z. Lupetin, the band’s vocalist and guitar player. “This song came from a place of wanting to pay homage to Bill Withers, one of my all-time favorite musicians. It was written before he passed and honors the fact that his music is the ‘friend’ that will never leave you and is always beside you.”

There’s a line in the song where the character that’s sung about is trying to convince a partner/friend to come home, coming from a place of seeing friends lose their partners to outside crises.

“As we grow older, and see friends continue going through growth pains, the music that you love is your forever companion,” said Lupetin.

“Beside You” is the first song released since “Queen Quarantine” and offers a true slow burn at a 5-minute runtime. The bands’ friends and significant others lent their vocals to a choir as the song wraps up, bringing deeper meaning to the intention behind the song. "Beside You" may be found here on all major streaming platforms.

Dustbowl Revival is composed of core members Z. Lupetin (lead vocals/guitar), Liz Beebe (lead vocals) Connor Vance (violin/guitar), Matt Rubin (trumpet/flugelhorn/keys), Ulf Bjorlin (trombones) and Josh Heffernan (drums/percussion).

12 Bluegrass Classics for Resophonic Guitar takes the listener on an all-instrumental journey across the landscape of Hall’s own sound and influences. The album marks Hall’s return to the foundation of his career as a dobro player, featuring the classic tunes he learned early on in his bluegrass journey. The album was mixed by fellow Stringdusters bandmate, Andy Falco.

12 Bluegrass Classics is available to be streamed on all major platforms here.

“I've always striven to push the envelope as a player, but never had the chance to put my stamp on some of the formative tunes I've always played at jam sessions. I chose songs that were familiar to me, shared Andy. “[These are] tunes that I've been playing for years, and that have shaped my playing. These 12 are some of my favorites, and I'm happy to get to offer up my take on them!”

Savannah, Georgia-based one-man-band Zach Deputy has released his new single "How Sweet It Is" from his new upcoming album Roses. The single is Deputy’s take on the James Taylor classic and brilliantly merges the Americana sound of today with the nostalgic magic of yesterday's sonic listening experience. The multi-instrumentalist will release his new studio album Roses on Regime Music Group in early 2021.

“I was performing with the band at a festival and we just organically fell into the song. It went so well we decided to record it for the album," remembers Deputy. "I usually don’t record covers but the performance was so special we had to take it to the studio.”

From his playing gigs in his teenage years to releasing his debut album Out of the Water in 2008, Zach Deputy has made a name for himself as an unforgettable one-man-band live looping act. His unique blend of “island-infused, drum ‘n’ bass, gospel-ninja-soul" mixed with his synth guitar work has created his trademark pocket groove. Zach’s introspective songwriting evokes intense feelings of joy by shedding light on some of life’s most challenging moments.

Touring throughout most of his career as a headlining one man show, Deputy’s performances forego anything prerecorded for the authenticity of a purely live show. Onstage, Deputy’s music emerges as a therapeutic experience that strives to remind people of the joy of being alive.

Grammy-award winning bluegrass quintet, the Infamous Stringdusters are pleased to announce the release of their next studio record, Dust the Halls: An Acoustic Christmas Holiday! out on December 4 on Americana Vibes, a 10-track all-instrumental holiday album. The band, made up of Chris Pandolfi (banjo), Andy Hall (dobro), Andy Falco (guitar), Jeremy Garrett (fiddle) and Travis Book (bass) recorded the entirety of this album in quarantine, at home in their individual home studios.

"The holidays are approaching, a time to come together and celebrate life, our community and connections to each other" shared Pandolfi. "This connection has never been more important. This album was put together remotely, collaborating on arrangements and parts, putting our unique Stringdusters spin on a collection of timeless holiday classics. This is an album for everyone and we hope it brings joy and happiness for years to come."

Dust the Halls is the Dusters' 10th studio effort and first to be released on the newly launched Americana Vibes label, in partnership with Regime Music Group. It will feature 10 songs, including the first two singles "Deck the Halls" and "Little Drummer Boy," each due out in November.

“Once we realized in March (of 2020) that we were going to be off the road for a long while...” shared Falco. “We started trying to figure out how we could remain creatively connected as a band who lives in different cities across the United States, and unable to travel.”

Each individual band member contributed his portion of Dust the Halls from their home studios in Golden, Bond and Lakewood, CO, as well as Suffolk County, NY and Brevard, NC. Falco went on to share that each instrument added their parts independently, followed by mixing in his personal studio then on to mastering.

“I took most of the songs off a list made for a solo Christmas album I’d originally intended to record (plus a cool arrangement of Winter Wonderland by Andy Hall), and re-arranged them, made charts and laid down the foundation tracks in my studio for the guys,” shared Falco. “As I was assembling the parts, it really helped me emotionally to hear the band together, even if it was remotely done. Plus, the vibe of the holiday music helped bring some light to this otherwise dark time.”

The album is available now available for pre-order, exclusively through the band store in traditional 180g black, as well as limited green/red swirl. Fans may also go ahead and pre-save across digital streaming platforms.

"...but the fire is so delightful, and since we've got no place to go, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!"

Heading into the 2020 holiday season, Savannah, Georgia-based one-man-band Zach Deputy has released a cover of the 1945 Vaughn Monroe Christmas classic, "Let it Snow." The song is available exclusively online, across digital streaming platforms. Here, Zach takes the widely-known traditional holiday favorite through the rabbit hole of his own unique spin.

"The inspiration to cover 'Let it Snow' came in equal part due to it being a friendly [and recognizable] Christmas classic, and the uncanny reference in the song lyrics to having no place to go," shared Zach. "Here we are, still hunkered down, so my hope is for this to bring you joy, a breath of fresh air and a beat to bob your head to. Now let's have some happy holidays... let it snow!"

From playing gigs in his teenage years to releasing his debut album Out of the Water in 2008, Zach Deputy has made a name for himself as an unforgettable one-man-band live looping act. His unique blend of “island-infused, drum ‘n’ bass, gospel-ninja-soul" mixed with his synth guitar work has created his trademark pocket groove. Grammy-award winning bluegrass quintet, the Infamous Stringdusters have released their first Christmas album, Dust the Halls: An Acoustic Christmas Holiday! on the newly founded Americana Vibes record label. Dust the Halls is a digitally collaborative effort, with the Infamous Stringdusters banding together despite physical distance to bring some much-needed holiday cheer to 2020.

Early in the COVID-19 pandemic after all touring was indefinitely cancelled, the band stayed focused on remaining connected musically with each other despite being isolated in different cities throughout the country.

“We started to consider doing some remote recording projects (each guy from his own home studio) ... but doing a brand new original Stringdusters album requires us to be together,” shared Andy Falco, guitar for the Infamous Stringdusters.

“I had actually already started thinking about a Christmas album last year but never had the time to start recording it, so when the idea came up we were able to use that list of mostly traditional songs and added an Andy Hall-arranged version of Winter Wonderland. I put together arrangements for the band, wrote charts, made a guitar track and the guys all added their parts one by one. As the pieces were coming in and I was assembling and mixing them in my studio, the songs started to come to life, making me feel like the band was together again. It was truly therapeutic and particularly nice that it was joyful holiday music, lending a welcome hand through some of the darkness happening in the world around us. We hope this album can help bring that joy into people’s homes, and we wish everyone a happy and healthy holiday season.”

Dust the Halls is the Dusters’ 10th studio effort and first to be released on the newly launched American Vibes, a multimedia and lifestyle endeavor under the Regime Music Group umbrella. It features 10 Christmas classics, and is available now for purchase and streaming everywhere. Stream the album here: https://fanlink.to/dustthehalls

The dark storyteller Amigo The Devil has just released a bare bones version of his new single “Another Man’s Grave” through a live acoustic video. The song is from his upcoming sophomore album Born Against and it documents everyone’s personal struggle to put into action the steps it takes to become the person we know we are before it’s too late. Filmed, recorded and edited by Courtney and Ray Gauger, the video depicts a solo Amigo The Devil performing in a vibrant forest accompanied only by his guitar. The contrast between the stark and lonely nature of these lyrics and the thriving surroundings is the perfect housing for the doubt and hopelessness embodied in the song.

Watch "Another Man's Grave" online at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RukZXYTISQ

Amigo The Devil comments, “I’ve always been a fan of hearing songs stripped down to their core. Since the live show is always just myself and a few instruments, it’s always fun to deliver both versions of the song. The album version is always the one that’s in my head; the one I hear when I write it. The live version tends to be the one that’s in my blood, clawing to get out. It’s a two-headed dog... Each version with a mind of its own while feeding the same body.”

Amigo The Devil's sophomore album, Born Against was recorded at Modern Electric Sound Recorders with producer Beau Bedford. Throughout the record, the continued unflinching honesty of the lyrics and their presentation of taboo elements are a crushing but necessary vessel for these stories to hit so close to home without relying on shock value. It’s that same uncomfortable honesty that allows the general public to embrace themes that would otherwise be frowned on, much in the vein of legendary songwriters across generations before. Like master storytellers, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, and Townes Van Zandt, Born Against is proof that Amigo The Devil is expanding boundaries and continuously exploring his craft.

Born Against is set to drop on February 19th via Liars Club/Regime Music Group. Pre-order Born Against now: https://fanlink.to/bornagainst

Cut-to-heart folk rock sextet, Dustbowl Revival, are pleased to announce the dates and lineup for the next edition of their virtual music festival, Sway-at-Home Holiday Fest.

The holiday edition event will take place, virtually of course, Tuesday, December 22 on Dustbowl’s Facebook and YouTube pages; and will feature sets from the likes of Dustbowl Revival, Keb' Mo', Bobby Rush, T. Sisters, The Accidentals and many more. Sway-at-Home will kick off at 5:00pm PST.

“We started Sway-at-Home [way back] in April when we realized our group, and many of our touring friends’ groups, wouldn’t get to play music festivals during this hard and strange time,” shared Z. Lupetin of Dustbowl Revival. “Instead of despairing, we created something new, bringing artists and songwriters together in a way that only music gatherings can.

While Sway-at-Home is completely free to view, the Dustbowl team encourages both tips to the festival and artists themselves (whose information will appear on-screen during the fest), but also for viewers to consider donations to Color for Change and MusiCares.

Outside of Sway-at-Home, Dustbowl Revival earlier this year released their latest single, “Beside You,” a song recorded initially in part of the Is it You, Is it Me sessions.

“It’s been a dark year for many music lovers,” shared Z. “We hope this will lighten people’s spirits. It’s gonna be epic!”

Dustbowl Revival is composed of core members Z. Lupetin (lead vocals/guitar), Liz Beebe (lead vocals), Matt Rubin (trumpet/flugelhorn/keys), Ulf Bjorlin (trombones) and Josh Heffernan (drums/percussion).

Travis Book, songwriter and bass player for Grammy Award-winning bluegrass quintet the Infamous Stringdusters, is pleased to roll out a series of Travis Book Happy Hour dates beginning in January 2021, presented by newly launched record label, Americana Vibes.

Travis debuted his ‘Happy Hour’ concept back in June with longtime collaborator Sarah Siskind and has since become a staple in the Asheville, NC music scene - with its home base located at The Grey Eagle. The events, which have been streamed via Facebook Live, are designed to offer a combination of music, conversation and happiness, where Travis melds together unique musical collaborations and conversations about matters of being - all revolving around a common theme.

Outside of the pilot, the Travis Book Happy Hour has featured the likes of Lindsay Lou, Mike Guggino and Barrett Smith (The Steep Canyon Rangers), Mimi Naja (Fruition) and more, spanning 10 episodes since inception.

"I started The Travis Book Happy Hour in response to the changes that swept through the entertainment industry in the spring of 2020," shared Travis. "I needed to make music, to do something different, to reinvent myself, in a sense. I was looking for the best way to serve the music community and grow creatively and realized the opportunity was there, at The Grey Eagle in Asheville, to do something different; a variety show with musical guests, interviews, and conversation about matters of being or what to do with ourselves this life. It's been a revelation to make music and converse with my friends and dig deeper roots here in my community in Western North Carolina. Season 2, which starts January 6th, is packed with another round of phenomenal guests that I'm thrilled to share the stage with."

The forthcoming season will feature guests such as Stringdusters bandmate, Andy Falco, Anders Beck (Greensky Bluegrass), Nicki Bluhm and more.

Confirmed 2021 dates and artists include:

January 6 - Kyle Tuttle & Lindsay Pruett

January 20 - Josh Daniel

February 3 - Steve McMurry

February 17 - Nicki Bluhm

March 3 - Anders Beck & Jon Stickley

Chris “Panda” Pandolfi, banjo player and songwriter for the GRAMMY and IBMA-award winning bluegrass band the Infamous Stringdusters, is announcing his new solo record, Trance Banjo under the moniker Trad Plus. The album is to be released on February 12, 2021 on Americana Vibes via Regime Music Group.

Trance Banjo delivers a unique combination of modern, melodic banjo compositions, along with lush, symphonic vinyl samples, beats, futuristic software instruments, strings, analog synths and more. Chris produced, performed, engineered and mixed all the music over the last three years at his studio in Denver, CO, with the exception of 2 guest spots: the luminary fiddle playing of Stuart Duncan as well as previous TRAD PLUS collaborator Nick Falk (drums) on select tracks.

Trance Banjo and exclusive merchandise are now available for pre-save and pre-order. Its first single, “Astral Plane,” is out now, while the second, “Wallfacer” is forthcoming. Additional details here -> https://fanlink.to/trancebanjo

“This is a concept record that grew out of some experimentation that was happening as I finished my last TRAD PLUS record, Interference, in 2015. I was searching for texture in the music, and I started creating my own vinyl samples from old classical records,” shared Chris.

“It was the perfect complement to all the clean, modern sounds of the virtual instruments I was using, and just sounded beautiful under the stuff I was writing on banjo. The writing progressed and the tracks just started growing from there, but it was a massive project, and it took being home during quarantine to really immerse myself in the project to where I could finish it. Some tracks have 20 or more voices, so it was a lot to write, play and piece together. But I wanted this big, unique sound, and I  am always trying to re-contextualize the banjo. That’s what Trance Banjo is all about.”

Chris was the first ever banjo principal at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, as well as the keynote speaker at the 2011 International Bluegrass Music Association Business Conference. He also produces and hosts “Inside the Musicians’ Brain (ITMB),” a podcast that is part of the Osiris Media family, offering conversations with fellow musicians that explore everything that goes into a life in music. Season two of ITMB will hit airwaves early this year, featuring interviews with Oteil Burbridge (Dead & Co), Sarah Jarosz, Goose, Sara Watkins, Ronnie McCoury and more.

Most of last year was a much needed break from all the hustle, but I got really inspired a few months ago to get season two of Inside the Musician’s Brain going,” shared Chris. “There are so many challenges and new perspectives/innovations happening in the music world right now, and it’s been so interesting hearing about all that from my guests. I’ve been lucky to connect with some amazing humans already for season two, and I can’t wait to share their knowledge with the world."

As previously announced, Chris' upcoming release, Trance Banjo, delivers a unique combination of modern, melodic banjo compositions, along with lush, symphonic vinyl samples, beats, futuristic software instruments, strings, analog synths and more.

GRAMMY-nominated soul provider Nigel Hall puts his skills to good use, carving out a creative space to call his own with his second album Spiritual, set to release May 14th, 2021 on Regime Music Group. With this release, Nigel Hall is ready to follow his musical spirit into uncharted territory.

Throughout his career, he’s built a mighty foundation of funk, onstage and in the studio, proving himself to be a true student of the music. His unique sound, built upon pages torn out of the golden-ages of R&B, funk and soul, have made him the musician he is today; an accomplished vocalist, keyboardist, studio musician, and member of the GRAMMY-nominated funk-jazz-soul-hip-hop-psychedelic-jam- experimental titans Lettuce. Legions of fans are already well in the know about Hall’s copious keyboard chops and powerful vocal style.

"The title 'Spiritual' came from something we (the musicians) were all just saying to each other," recalls Nigel. "We were all on break during the sessions and I walked past this sign that said 'Spiritual’ that’s all it said. It was like a sign from God! So that’s how the record got its name."

Recorded with a back-to-basics approach in Richmond, VA at the world famous Jellowstone Studios, Hall puts an emphasis on channeling the vibe and soul of his music, making himself a conduit of the unique style of jazz-inflected old-school R&B and funk and flows out of him.

"My last record was more of a traditional soul record. I feel like it was a lot of what other people wanted me to sound like. With this album, I didn’t want this to sound like another release. I want people to know that I am my own entity and that I want to explore different areas of music," commented Nigel on the direction of the album. "This record I had full creative control. I feel like every artist records one record in their career for themselves. This one is it for me. I feel like if no one hears this record, I'll still be able to sleep at night because I know there is something real out in the world that I put there."

Vinyl & other merchandise is available globally, order and bundle packages are available at his official store HERE.

GRAMMY and IBMA-award winning bluegrass quintet, the Infamous Stringdusters, are pleased to announce a pair of weekend shows in April of this year.

The band will kick the run off at B-Chord Brewing in Round Hill, VA for a three-night run April 16-18, and will then head over to VanHoy Farms in Harmony, NC for shows April 23-24. All information including ticket prices, venue-specific COVID protocol and on-sale information can be found at www.thestringdusters.com/tour.

In addition to the Dusters, the VanHoy shows will feature support by Sierra Hull + Justin Moses (4/23) and The Travelin' McCourys (4/24).

"We've had a year of communication with each other and our management and what we're comfortable with, an what we think is responsible in regards to shows," shared Andy Hall, dobro and vocals. "That is one of the strange parts of the pandemic: planning anything has been so hard. So, having something solid to look forward to is fantastic. You realize as a musician how much the live, in-person connection with fans is motivating. We've been missing that!"

Most recently, the Dusters released their holiday record, Dust the Halls: An Acoustic Christmas Holiday! along with two bonus Hanukkah singles. Dust the Halls debuted on Billboard's Bluegrass Chart at #1 and sat on the chart for a handful of consecutive weeks.

Hall went on to share, "We've been at this quite awhile, and I think in some ways we were ready for some home time. We all have people in our lives we wanted to spend more time with, and this pandemic did have a silver lining as far as family time goes. All of the Dusters have been really active making music at home during the last year. Both writing and recording. Guys releasing solo records and our band releasing a variety of projects. For us, it's like breathing. It's what we do!"

This evening, Travis Book of the Grammy-award winning bluegrass quintet, the Infamous Stringdusters, once again takes the stage in part of his "quarantine project," The Travis Book Happy Hour. Tonight's episode, unlike those previously held, will in large part pay tribute to the late Tony Rice.

The episode will feature special guests, Jon Stickley and Lyndsay Pruett (Jon Stickley Trio) as well as Shawn Lane (Blue Highway) and will run through Tony Rice's deep repertoire of folk, Americana and bluegrass.

"Tony Rice is my desert-island artist and my biggest influence," shared Travis. "His song selection, his voice, and that distinctive guitar playing... Bluegrass music and acoustic guitar would not be what it is without Tony Rice. My guests this episode are also Tony Rice's children, with deep appreciation and understanding of his music. Shawn Lane of Blue Highway shared the stage with Tony Rice. Few play Rice-style guitar as well as Jon Stickley and Lyndsay Pruett's musical range on fiddle is unmatched. I've planned a chronological retrospective touching on every phase of Tony's varied career and I'll try to demonstrate why Tony Rice's music is still so relevant and will never be forgotten."

Past episodes of The Travis Book Happy Hour have included Nicki Bluhm, Anders Beck, members of the Steep Canyon Rangers and more. Tonight's episode can be viewed live on the Travis Book Happy Hour Facebook page, beginning at 7pm ET.

"We call this one a barn burner," shared Tejon front man, Connor O'Neal. His band, Colorado Springs-based outlaw alt-folk group Tejon Street Corner Thieves have released their unique energetic take on the bluegrass classic "Greasy Coat". The track is the latest single released from their upcoming new album Stolen Goods, which is set for a May 7th release through Liars Club/Regime Music Group.

"There’s been a lot of skepticism about this song's original meaning but we’ve actually combined two songs here; Greasy Coat and Cluck Old Hen," commented Connor O’Neal. "We live for live shows and they tend to get rowdy, so we approached this one with the same kind of fast energy we have during our live show."

Stolen Goods is a 10-track collection of classic traditional Americana, folk, and bluegrass covers that pays homage to the forefathers of the genre who laid the groundwork for what would become the roots of modern folk. Recorded at Royal Recordings in Colorado Springs with producer Bill Douglass, the songs on Stolen Goods have become a staple of Tejon Street Corner Thieves set dating back to their early days busking the streets for pocket change.

When it came time to assemble the visual album artwork, Tejon Street Corner Thieves were blessed with an original illustration by artist Jim Evans, also known as TAZ the “Rock Poster God.” TAZ has illustrated and designed some of the most iconic rock posters for everyone from Neil Young, the Ramones, Smashing Pumpkins, Pixies and more.

Tejon Street Corner Thieves' Stolen Goods is now available for pre-order at http://store.liarsclubrecords.com in CD and limited edition vinyl. In part of the limited vinyl release is the new Tejon Street Corner Thieves board game "Larry," where fans play and party as their favorite band member; warping through the chaotic world of life on the road. The pre-order also offers a deluxe bundle that includes a limited edition print of the album art from Jim "TAZ" Evans".

The Infamous Stringdusters, are pleased to announce the second single from their forthcoming album, A Tribute to Bill Monroe, is out now on Americana Vibes.

“Sitting Alone in the Moonlight” is a Monroe ballad that tells the tale of the storyteller left by his lover to ponder upon their past together. The song was first released by Bill Monroe and His Bluegrass Boys in 1956. The Dusters are the latest in a handful of bluegrassers who have recorded their take since its initial release.

“Bill Monroe means a lot to a lot of musicians and is credited with creating his own genre of music that we know as bluegrass,” shared Jeremy Garrett, fiddle and vocals for the Dusters. “To me, one of the things I respect the most about his music was that he was an innovator. The Dusters have looked to take a page out of his book so to speak and have followed our own path to be innovators in the music that we’ve created together, along with exploiting the bluegrass foundation that we all share.”

The Infamous Stringdusters are currently on the road through the mid-Atlantic. Having performed to a sold-out crowd over 3 nights at B Chord Brewing in Virginia last weekend, the band heads into Harmony, NC for two nights with Sierra Hull and the Travelin’ McCourys and onto Charleston, SC on Sunday. GRAMMY-winning soul provider Nigel Hall puts his skills to good use, carving out a creative space to call his own with his second album Spiritual, set to release May 14th, 2021 on Regime Music Group. Today, Nigel Hall releases his second single “Gotta Go to Work” from the highly anticipated album. Listen HERE.

Nigel states, “There is a Luther Vandross song called ‘I’ve Been Working” that I used to perform a lot. I love that song. I feel like this is my version of that song. DJ Harrison (Butcher Brown) and I wrote the song and it seemed fitting to do since we both worked a ton before COVID hit. It’s the story of a working musician's life....”

Andy Falco, guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer, and one-fifth of the GRAMMY award-winning bluegrass quintet, The Infamous Stringdusters, is very excited to announce the release of a new single, his first in over 10 years, “Merriam Special.” The track is the latest song to be released by the Dusters-anchored Americana Vibes.

“Back when I got into bluegrass music, that’s when I met my friend Buddy Merriam,” shared Falco. “Buddy is a mandolin player who used to be connected to Bill Monroe. In honor of Monroe, Buddy wrote a tune called ‘Monroe’s Special’ that we used to play together back in the day. And in honor of Buddy, I went ahead and wrote this traditional bluegrass tune called ‘Merriam Special’ that pays tribute to my old friend, Buddy. I play mandolin and guitar, and by brother Patrick is featured on bass.

“Merriam Special” can be listened to now on all streaming platforms here: https://fanlink.to/merriam_special

In other Stringdusters news, both Jeremy Garrett and Travis Book also released solo project singles. Jeremy’s new tune, "Wont You Remember My Name" is the next single in the series of songs leading up to his new album. This track is more rooted in his acoustic guitar, mandolin and fiddle tones. Still shaping his music with the ability to loop, there's so much space for a tech-enhanced, fiddle-driven interlude that brings it all back home to his sound lent to the Stringdusters.

And for Travis, serving as a musical meeting ground for musicians working in a broad range of bluegrass styles, “On The Lonesome Breeze” showcases rich creativity, deep skills — and a lot of musical muscle, too - and is the latest song to be released in part of the Bluegrass at the Crossroads session. This song is sung and co-written by Travis himself, and features a number of all-star North Carolina based pickers. Both Jeremy and Travis’ singles are released on Organic Records and can be streamed here: https://linktr.ee/April30Releases

As previously announced, the Infamous Stringdusters will be releasing their forthcoming album, A Tribute to Bill Monroe on Americana Vibes, due out May 28. The album can be pre-ordered here: https://thestringdusters-store.com/collections/a-tribute-to-bill-monroe

Midnight North, the Bay Area roots and folk act, is the latest in a series of artists to join the newly formed Americana Vibes. The label, launched in December 2020 as part of the Regime Music Group umbrella of companies, is home to GRAMMY award-winning artist, The Infamous Stringdusters as well as Boulder, Colorado-based The Sweet Lillies.

"Midnight North have been our musical brothers and sister for years now, and we are so excited to welcome them to the Americana Vibes family," shared Chris Pandolfi of The Infamous Stringdusters. “They have a timeless, powerful sound, along with amazing original songs that always take you places. That’s what great music is all about! We are excited to help get their new album out to the world--check it out!”

Midnight North’s forthcoming album, There's Always a Story, is due out on Americana Vibes on July 23, and represents a new peak for the band.

The kernels of these songs had been growing for years, but they were arranged and finished collaboratively between their last shows of 2019 and the sessions in January 2020. Most had not been performed live until they were laid down, a change from the band’s usual way of doing things. The album features a number of collaborators including Jason Crosby & Scott Law, as well as Marcus Machado, Dave Eggar, & Jennifer Hartswick.

The band made a concerted effort to expand their sound and prove to themselves that they could venture into new musical territory while still sounding entirely like Midnight North. From the string band stylings of “Silent Lonely Drifter” to The Roots-inspired groove of “The Sailor & The Sea,” you will hear something new from Midnight North on every track.

“This band and the songs we write and record are no doubt a perfect match for Americana Vibes,” shared Nathan Graham of Midnight North.

"We've always looked up to the Infamous Stringdusters as songwriters, musicians, and as an organization,” shared Grahame Lesh. Becoming label-mates with a band like the Dusters and getting to work with a top notch record label like Americana Vibes, is an important step for Midnight North that we are absolutely over the moon about! We can't wait to present this album, There's Always a Story - this collection of songs that reflects our Americana story - with the support of Americana Vibes behind it."

Andy Falco, GRAMMY Award-winning multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter, and one fifth of the Infamous Stringdusters, has announced The Will of the Way, his first solo album since 2007. The album is due out on July 16 exclusively on Americana Vibes.

Along with the announcement of the new album, we are pleased to share its first single, “Stones Unturned.” The Dead/Dylan-inspired song is a reflection of not being a little kid anymore, and getting to keep "doing it" for so many years. It's a realization for how important learning from lessons is, regardless of age, and to acknowledge that you don't have to have all the answers. To put it simply, there are many stones that remain unturned. The music video for "Stones Unturned" may be found HERE.

The Will of the Way, stems from a number of songs that [Falco] had for a while, but much of it was written during what he refers to as “the great pause” of 2020.

“Being grounded from the road due to the pandemic, I’ve uncovered time to truly dive into songwriting in a way I never had before,” shared Falco. “It was a very emotional time (for me), and it led me to ask myself a lot of questions internally like ‘why am I writing this song,’ what am I really trying to say?’ I became only interested in recording songs that I felt a deep personal connection to, and the result was this album.

The Will of the Way features musicians from Long Island including his brother Patrick (on bass) and others from the local scene including Jon Preddice and Chris Marshak. The album also features a great Massachusetts-based singer, Erica Leigh, as well as Dave Butler (Guster), Damian Calcagne, Cody Kilby (The Travelin’ McCourys), Joe Russo on drums on a few songs, and Joss Stone on one.

The complete 11-song album track list is as follows:

GRAMMY-winning soul provider Nigel Hall puts his skills to good use, carving out a creative space to call his own with his second studio album Spiritual, set to release July 16th, 2021 on Regime Music Group. Today, Nigel Hall releases his third and final single “The Sun” from the highly anticipated album. Listen HERE.

Hall describes this song, “This is a song about a pure, unadulterated vibe. I picture being at a cookout with family and friends. Sweating and smiling, loving and hugging, playing and swaying in the golden time of day, in the sun.”

He continues, “It’s summertime and life is sweet, and you’re just giving God thanks, because your mind, body and spirit are being touched by the one thing that fuels the universe, the sun.”

Andy Falco, GRAMMY Award-winning multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter, and one fifth of the Infamous Stringdusters, has announced "The Edge," the follow-up single to "Stones Unturned" of his forthcoming solo record, The Will of the Way, his first solo album since 2007. The album is due out on July 16 exclusively on Americana Vibes.

"The Edge is one of the few songs on my forthcoming album that was written prior to 2020," shares Falco. "The lyrics were co-written with Travis McKeveny, also from Long Island, who I’ve written with several times now including “2001: A Canyon Odyssey” off the Dusters’ album Laws Of Gravity. "The Edge" is one of the few that I’m playing everything on the track except the drums/percussion (Dave Butler) and the harmony vocals (Jon Preddice and Erica Leigh). It was recorded it as a demo but felt like the track had a certain magic to it, particularly in the end jam so I left most parts as they were, blemishes and all, including the end lead guitar which was done with just that one take. It’s a song about giving yourself to someone, and hoping they will accept you with all your faults so I thought the little 'flaws' here and there represent the sentiment of the song."

As previously shared, The Will of the Way, stems from a number of songs that [Falco] had for a while, but much of it was written during what he refers to as “the great pause” of 2020.

Travis Book, songwriter and bass player for Grammy Award-winning bluegrass quintet the Infamous Stringdusters, is pleased to roll out the first full season of The Travis Book Happy Hour Podcast, powered by Americana Vibes. This podcast is a collection of interviews that were recorded live over the course of summer 2020 while the music industry at large came to a pause due to Covid-19.

Travis debuted his ‘Happy Hour’ concept in June 2020 with longtime collaborator Sarah Siskind and has since become a staple in the Asheville, NC music scene - with its home base located at The Grey Eagle. The events, which were initially streamed via Facebook Live, are designed to offer a combination of music, conversation and happiness, where Travis melds together unique musical collaborations and conversations about matters of being - all revolving around a common theme.

The first season, which is available now, features such guests as Lindsay Lou, Jon Stickley, Rev Matt Reiger & Andy Dunnigan (The Lil Smokies), Jessie Iaquinto & Tommy Maher (Fireside Collective), Mimi Naja (Fruition), Benny "Burle" Galloway and Barrett Smith & Mike Guggino (Steep Canyon Rangers).

The full, 8-episode season can be streamed here -> https://anchor.fm/travis-book

"I remember sometime during preparation for my fifth episode it dawned on me that the Happy Hour would translate brilliantly to podcast format," shared Travis. "After Season 1 wrapped, I spent a week in the studio distilling these episodes down to their essence and I'm really happy with the result. Unique, one-time-only musical collaborations, and in-depth interviews that go beyond the typical 'tell us about your latest record' softball questions; The Travis Book Happy Hour Podcast is my contribution to the podcast space and I'm really proud of what Americana Vibes and I have created."

Since recording this first season, Travis has continued hosting his live Happy Hour with guests such as Nicki Bluhm, Anders Beck (Greensky Bluegrass), Sierra Hull and more.

Midnight North, the Bay Area roots and folk act, has released their latest single, “Silent Lonely Drifter” today on Americana Vibes. The song is the final in a series of singles off the band’s forthcoming album There’s Always a Story.

"Here we have a folk melody reminiscent of the timeless string music heard in the Appalachian region,” shared songwriter Nathan Graham. “Lyrically simple - the tune gives thanks to the inevitable and natural balance that exists in this universe - no matter the day or the moon. I shared the tune with Grahame on a day off down south a few years back. Listen to "Silent Lonely Drifter" right here -> https://fanlink.to/MN_SLD.

It definitely still needed something on the lyrical side, and Grahame had the idea to identify each verse with different full moons in the yearly cycle. Each full moon carries a unique weight to those surviving down below - so we made a connection from each moment (verse) to each full moon.”

There's Always a Story represents a new chapter for Midnight North. Ten stories told through song on their most polished album to date.

Grahame Lesh, guitar and vocals shared, “Nathan would play us snippets of 'Silent Lonely Drifter' on tour whenever he would get ahold of a banjo, and once he showed me the full song I always hoped we'd get a chance to play & sing it with Midnight North. The song was close to fully formed when he brought it to the band, and the melody & chord progression were so intuitive that we latched onto it quickly when we finally started tracking it in the studio. It really came together when we made Nathan sing the melody as Elliott & I wove harmonies around him. Now that we've played it live 'Silent Lonely Drifter' is one of my favorite of our songs to sing in harmony!”

Reflecting on the time since their origin, Midnight North is ready to tell the world their story. A group of multi-instrumentalists with songwriting roots in Folk and Americana, Midnight North is a mainstay on the stages of the national touring circuit.

Rolling Stone hailed Midnight North as the “Best New Act” in its review of 2018’s Peach Music Festival saying the band “takes the best parts of roots music and weaves them into a tapestry of rock and Americana.”

The band recently wrapped up an east coast stint, including a stop at the Relix Studio in New York City as well as a handful of dates that featured Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh.

Midnight North will be touring Big Sky Country this weekend with a handful of dates that include:

July 9 - Buffalo Saloon and Casino - Bigfork, MT

July 10 - Love Field - Bozeman, MT

July 12 - Center for the Arts - Jackson, WY

More dates are expected to be announced in support of There’s Always a Story in the coming weeks.

"The album stems from a number of songs that I've had for a while, but much of it was written during what I refer to as 'the great pause' of 2020," shared Falco.

As a songwriter, Andy’s approach is simple. “I simply sit and observe what I see in the world around me, and try to put it to music. Especially lately, I’ve gravitated towards certain observations that I hope others might relate to as well.”

“Being grounded from the road due to the pandemic, I’ve uncovered time to truly dive into songwriting in a way I never had before. GRAMMY Award-winning artist Nigel Hall has officially released his highly anticipated studio album Spiritual out today on Regime Music Group. The 14-song album includes features from esteemed artists such as Patrice Rushen, Marcus King, Ryan Zoidis (of Lettuce) & Jeff Coffin (of Dave Matthews Band). The vinyl includes a bonus track not available on digital service providers titled “Words”. Download, stream & purchase ‘Spiritual’ HERE.

“This record is a reflection of my final days as an alcoholic and drug addict. It is the most honest collection of music I have ever created, and being able to celebrate that as a sober human being is a tremendous honor.  I had a lot to get off my chest, and with this record I feel like I’ve been able to release those feelings and demons that were weighing so heavily on me.  Now that Spritual is out in the world, I have a great sense of closure and peace around that chapter of my life. Aside from my children, this record is my proudest accomplishment to date. So as you listen, understand that this record was made with the intention to let go of certain things, so that I could grow. This record is for me.”

Hall adds “One of the reasons I wanted to record at Jellowstone is because sonically, we (Butcher Brown) are alike. The rule was if the instruments aren’t older than us (or recorded with that specific intent) we couldn’t use them.”

Midnight North, the Bay Area roots and folk act, is very happy to release their new album, There’s Always a Story, made available exclusively on Americana Vibes.

There’s Always a Story was born out of a studio session with producer David Simon-Baker, but as the world shut down in March 2020, they were left to wrap the album individually, quarantined around the country. As the months ticked by, they let the rest of the newly written and recorded songs sink into their consciousness, so that when work resumed on the album in June, the entirety of it became better than anticipated.

"It's finally here! The seeds of this album were planted all the way back in the fall of 2019, and the hard work of recording and producing it has been going for over 18 months,” shared Grahame Lesh.

“There's Always a Story is a true collaboration between the four of us, and the process of writing and recording these 10 songs has thrown the door open to an exhilarating new era for this band. We are so happy that the world can finally hear these songs, discover new favorites, and sing along with us at home and on the road."

There's Always a Story represents a new chapter for Midnight North. Ten stories told through song, on their most polished album to date. The band tapped Jason Crosby, Marcus Machado, Allison Russell, Jennifer Hartswick, Natalie Cressman, Dave Eggar, JT Nero, and Scott Law as special guests who appear across the album.

Elliott Peck went on to share, “I believe this collection of songs is our best and most collaborative writing to date. What started as a startling halt to our recording process in early 2020, blossomed into a body of work we were able to sit with and develop with deeper intention. We can’t wait for you to experience it.”

In addition to the album, the band is very pleased to announce a hometown throw down at Terrapin Crossroads, September 3, to celebrate the release of There’s Always a Story.

2021 and beyond is a new beginning, and while Midnight North longingly looks ahead, hand-in-hand with the rest of the world, There’s Always a Story will serve as a collective and reflective narrative.

The band recently wrapped up an east coast stint, including a stop at the Relix Studio in New York City, a handful of dates that featured Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh, and dates through the northern Rocky Mountains.

More dates are expected to be announced in support of There’s Always a Story in the coming weeks.

Rex Foundation and The Jerry Garcia Family have announced the second annual Daze Between, a multi-week tribute to the life, music, and legacy of Jerry Garcia and benefitting Rex Foundation, a nonprofit organization created by the Grateful Dead in 1983. Typically celebrated from August 1st through 9th, the event kicked off early this year, with the return of Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros at Berkeley's Greek Theatre -- the first show there since 2019.

The inaugural year of the campaign took place virtually, bringing in a whopping 2.7 million views over the course of the nine days. This year, with the ever-evolving tide, the event will shift into a hybrid event, with live music events and volunteer opportunities happening from coast to coast.

This year, Rex Foundation is asking the community to help them meet the important milestone of $10,000,000 in grants, given to small nonprofit organizations since 1983, supporting grassroots efforts in the arts, sciences, education, environment, indigenous culture, and social justice. Donations can be made by texting ‘DAZE’ to (202) 858-1233 or directly at www.dazebetween.com.

“Community was a big part of the social experiment that was the Grateful Dead, and it is a community that has not only stood the test of time but has remained committed to making the world a better place for everyone,'' shared Cameron Sears, Executive Director of Rex Foundation. “One of the more enduring aspects of how that was accomplished can be found in Rex Foundation. Formed with the notion that when we all work together, that makes a lasting positive social change a reality. We all play a part, and if we continue maintaining that tradition, this community will continue to thrive not just in deed, but also in spirit knowing that we are stronger together. That is what community is all about - and that is what Daze Between is about!”

Daze Between will offer a tribute to Garcia through art, music, and service by virtue of a combination of live shows and streams, Major League Baseball games, nationwide service opportunities, auctions, and more. The event kicked off early this year, with the return of Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros at Berkeley's Greek Theatre -- the first show there since 2019. Daze Between is sponsored by Garcia Hand Picked, a national cannabis brand that launched in 2020 to honor the legacy of Jerry Garcia.

“We are honored to sponsor this year’s Daze Between celebration with the addition of nationwide volunteer and charitable giving opportunities through Daze of Service,” said Rachel Genderson, Senior Director of Marketing for Garcia Hand Picked.  “We try to celebrate Jerry’s artwork, his music, and his passion for people and planet in every aspect of the Garcia Hand Picked brand, including our support of the Rex Foundation and all the good work they do to inspire fans and carry on Jerry’s legacy.”

Though Garcia is most well known for his musical talents, he had a wide range of interests, which included drawing and painting. To showcase Jerry’s visual art, The Garcia Family has just announced an NFT collection in partnership with YellowHeart entitled “An Odd Little Place: The Digital Works of Jerry Garcia (1992–1995).” The NFT collection features 17 limited edition pieces of original digital artwork available for auction on August 1st alongside the reveal of three additional works, one previously unseen, that were found in the Garcia Archive in a folder entitled “Last 48 Hours.”

The auction for the three unique digital artworks, only available as a single edition, will go up for auction separately starting August 5th at 3pm (ET) and ending on August 7th. A new exhibition at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame opens to the public on August 6th that houses the 20 piece collection. Preview the NFT collection and learn more at yh.io.

About Rex Foundation: From their earliest days, The Grateful Dead received countless requests for help from community organizations. The band became known for their generosity and their numerous benefit concerts. In 1984, members of the band, with family and friends, established the Rex Foundation as a non-profit charitable organization, allowing the band to proactively support creative endeavors in the arts, sciences, and education. Rex identifies those who are out there doing good work, those who might be overlooked, those who are trying to make a difference in their communities, and then provides the funding those people need to carry out their missions.

“We found ourselves in the dilemma of not having the time to do enough benefits for the things that we were interested in supporting or helping or any good cause that presented itself. The people that come to ask their local rock and roll band for help are the forgotten people, believe me. If you have to call the Grateful Dead for assistance, you’re definitely falling between the cracks. It’s a matter of conscience. If you feel like you like to do things that help and that it isn’t particularly difficult to do so, it’s a matter of choices. So that’s why we started the Rex Foundation.” - Jerry Garcia

GRAMMY®-award winning bluegrass quintet, The Infamous Stringdusters, are pleased to announce that two albums, each released on Americana Vibes, have charted in the top 10 bluegrass albums on Billboard this week - Undercover at #2 and A Tribute to Bill Monroe at #8. This marks the first time the band has had a pair of albums in the top 10 on one chart.

The band - Andy Falco [guitar], Chris Pandolfi [banjo], Andy Hall [dobro], Jeremy Garrett [fiddle], and Travis Book [double bass] - stayed busy musically over the course of the industry-wide Covid shutdown, having produced their take on Bill Monroe classics in A Tribute to Bill Monroe, as well as a recently released compilation of covers entitled Undercover for the July Record Store Day drop.

NYC bassist Karina Rykman carves out an ethereal and groove-filled creative space to call her own with her sixth single “Arbitrary” out TODAY, August 13th, 2021. Listen HERE.

“Arbitrary” comes on the heels of previously-released singles “No Occasion,” “Dirty South,” “City Kids,” “Elevator,” and “Plants.”

"Arbitrary is the weirdo, slacker, groove-based tune I've been hearing in my head for ages. It was created at Candid Studios in Williamsburg with producer Gabe Monro, whom I have the sincere pleasure of working with. Adam November contributed some amazing ambiance created with two DL4s and many, many delays.” Karina states.

“I wanted to write a bass line you would want to actually live inside of, with words that reflect the erratic and whimsical nature of the world. It's sort of the Jekyll to my last single's ('No Occasion') Hyde - I feel I'm starting to paint a bigger picture of my eclectic tendencies, and I'm thrilled to unleash Arbitrary out into the world. Play it loud, bass up, bliss out, and enjoy. Impulse is often to the contrary, especially when everything is arbitrary.”

You may know Karina as the bassist of the Marco Benevento Trio, but her freshly-formed namesake band, featuring Adam November on guitar (and loopers and effects) and Chris Corsico on drums, is already off to the races  garnering countless festival appearances, club gigs, and streaming numbers.  Whether she’s touring around the world with Marco Benevento, jamming with Phish at their Madison Square Garden soundcheck, or opening a major show like Khruangbin at The Capitol Theatre, you can always find Karina honing her musical craft and prowess, and enjoying every second of it.

Andy Dunnigan of the Lil Smokies shared, “Last fall, Travis contacted Rev and I about taking a jaunt over to NC; basically we’d rehearse some tunes, play a few shows, hang at his house and pretend the world wasn’t wholly dissembling itself before our eyes… and that’s precisely what we did. Now, clearly, this was a very uncertain time for everyone, but for musicians, the metaphorical curtain had literally been pulled down. fragile; towing hope in shards, I hopped on the plane. Man, I’m glad I went. Quickly the trip reminded me why I haven’t hung this dream up and why I can’t; why I still cling to the adventure - I needed this reminder. Thank you Travis! If you feel inclined go check this podcast out… you can really hear the pandemic fear arm wrestling our love for music in these songs (we won).”

On December 17, the Lillies will hit the stage at Denver’s Gothic Theater for a headlining show featuring Jason Hann (String Cheese Incident) and Andy Hall (The Infamous Stringdusters) with support from some of Denver’s best rising bluegrass acts, the Lonesome Days and Chain Station.

About the Sweet Lilles, Common Ground producer Tim Carbone said, “The world needs a band like The Sweet Lillies, whose music is positive without denying the darkness in the world. Their songs are uplifting but they also invite the listener to be introspective and draw their own conclusions. Like all great music, it does so while taking you on a journey of joy. I live to make records like this with dedicated, focused artists and I can't wait for the world to hear it.”

Something downright mystical is happening on Colorado’s Front Range. The very roots of traditional acoustic music seem to sprout from the dirt, shaking their dust into the winds of change, to be breathed in and become the soul of musicians who craft their songs here.

Such is the music of Wood Belly, a musical collective of Chris Weist (mandolin), Tom Knowlton (guitar), Chris Zink (dobro), Aaron McCloskey (banjo) and Taylor Shuck (bass). Today, Americana Vibes is excited to announce the addition of Wood Belly to its roster, which includes Grammy Award-winning artist The Infamous Stringdusters, plus Midnight North, the Sweet Lillies, Morsel, Chris Pandolfi, Travis Book, Andy Hall and Andy Falco.

"We couldn't be more thrilled to announce our signing with the fine folks at Americana Vibes,” shared Wood Belly. “The Infamous Stringdusters were a huge influence on all of us through our formative years in bluegrass and to be brought into their community and label is nothing short of mind blowing. We have the utmost confidence in this partnership and cannot wait to see what the future has in store!"

In addition to the signing, Americana Vibes is happy to present Wood Belly’s new album, Great Big Skies, due out in May 2022. Alongside this announcement, Wood Belly is proudly sharing a new video for their unreleased song, “Mexico” available on the band’s YouTube channel now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3d1AoKMBK4

About “Mexico” Wood Belly shared, "Bluegrass music is no stranger to a good ole bank robbin' song. ‘Mexico’ diverges from the classic narrative by putting you inside a criminal's mindset who's been dealt a bad hand in life and completely justifies the crime he commits even if it meant taking another man's life. We're all heroes in our own story and the song demonstrates that these stereotypical ‘villains’ are no different.”

Wood Belly band has been garnering attention since the release of their 2018 debut album Solid Ground, which was followed by a win at the prestigious Telluride Bluegrass Band Competition (earning them a main stage performance slot at the 2019 festival), as well as a 2018 IBMA Momentum Band of the Year nomination.

Something downright musically mystical continues to manifest along Colorado’s front range. There’s a forward-progress movement that stems from deep within the roots of folk and Americana culture, and such is the music of Wood Belly. Today, Wood Belly is pleased to announce the release of their new album, Great Big Skies, available June 3, 2022 on Americana Vibes.

Wood Belly, who is composed of Chris Weist (mandolin), Tom Knowlton (guitar), Chris Zink (dobro), Aaron McCloskey (banjo) and Taylor Shuck (bass) hits new strides with Great Big Skies, and its first single “Old Home” available now on all streaming platforms.

“The evolution of the band is evident in these recordings. This is apparent, not only in our individual growth as players, but how we craft a song and play together as a whole,” shared Chris Zink, dobro. “Our guitar player and vocalist Tom Knowlton makes his recording debut as a member of Wood Belly and while his talents are striking and abundant throughout the album, it is the way he makes the band a tighter unit that is most impressive. With the perceptive and imaginative Jon Weisberger manning the helm as producer,  Great Big Skies marks a further development of what we want to define as the Wood Belly sound, and a glimpse into where we may be heading.”

The band has been garnering attention since the release of their 2018 debut album Solid Ground, which was followed by a win at the prestigious Telluride Bluegrass Band Competition (earning them a main stage performance slot at the 2019 festival), as well as a 2018 IBMA Momentum Band of the Year nomination.

“The modern music world is like the wild west in some respects. There are amazing bands all over the world releasing an unending supply of great songs into the streaming ether and it can be very challenging to reach people and make an impact, shared Aaron McCloskey, banjo. “Enter Americana Vibes. Teaming up with a label that is equipped for the current climate is invaluable to us and we're thrilled to have their knowledge and guidance for the release of our new album, Great Big Skies.”

Midnight North has released the second single from Selections from Levon Helm Studios. “As soon as Elliott showed us her original demo for “Coyote”, I knew the pressure was on us to perform this amazing song in a way that lived up to the magic of its composition. When we began working up the song, our November show at the mythical Levon Helm Studios became a dream debut opportunity for us," shared Grahame Lesh.

"As time went on more and more pieces began falling into place - our dear friend Jason Crosby joined us on keyboards and violin for the show, we worked up a one-mic acoustic set to showcase “Coyote”, and finally we had the most beautiful crowd of fans to play for. The result was everything we could have asked for, and luckily we were able to capture the performance to show you now. “Coyote” has since been released on our studio album “There’s Always a Story”, but it all comes back to the magic of that first performance at Levon Helm Studios.”

National flatpicking champion, Tyler Grant, is pleased to release his first solo album since 2016 and first Telecaster-driven electric solo album. Tryin’ To Have A Good Time is out now on Americana Vibes.

Tyler takes his listener on a six-string joyride through his musical history on this collection of new music. Tyler recalls, “my dad once told me that no matter what the situation, the best thing to do is to try to have a good time.”

A National Flatpicking Champion and renowned guitarist, singer, songwriter, storyteller, producer and educator–Tyler Grant’s adventurous career has spanned the better part of thirty years, and has taken him from sideman to bandleader; and young hotshot to mentor in the Bluegrass, Americana and jamband scenes. His sixth solo release, Tryin’ To Have A Good Time, captures the image of a life-long wanderer staking out musical roots which extend to a canopy of song, inviting the listener into a home long sought after.

In addition to music, Tyler has found a recent knack for the river. Shortly after the shutdown in 2020, Tyler, like many musicians, found himself needing inspiration. “I had been invited to join an experiment in summer 2020, taking a group of musicians down a multi day whitewater trip through the sacred halls of Dinosaur National Monument,” shared Tyler. “I was hooked from day one. I’ve always been an outdoor enthusiast, and this was a whole new adventure. Rafting down those pristine stretches of river, experiencing the thrill of the rapids, the majesty of the canyons, bonding with guests and crew over music and meals at the most remote, beautiful campsites, collaborating with some of my favorite musicians in a pure acoustic setting.”

Tyler’s experiences on the river, along with many on a deep personal level with his family, ultimately shaped the foundation for Tryin’ To Have A Good Time. Fans can tune in tonight on Volume at https://volume.com/t/MVzoHu/ for a livestream of Tyler’s album release party, live from Wibby Brewing.

Americana Vibes, the label responsible for the Infamous Stringdusters’ recent Grammy-nominated Tribute to Bill Monroe, is very pleased to present its first in a series of digital compilation releases, Summertime in the Mountains. The compilation was hand-picked to represent the wide spectrum of sounds not only offered by label artists, but as a definition for where the bluegrass and Americana genres are meeting and evolving.

“There’s no time like right now to showcase the tremendous efforts put forward by the Americana Vibes artists,” shared Ariel Rosemberg, label manager. “We are so fortunate to be represented in today’s market by some of the finest sounds in bluegrass and Americana. There is an evolution happening in this space right before our eyes and to represent that sound in our first-to-market compilation is honor in and of itself.”

Americana Vibes was founded at the tail end of 2020 in partnership between Grammy-award winning group, The Infamous Stringdusters and Regime Music Group as a way to honor the legacy of Americana tradition with a keen emphasis on the sounds of the future coming from within the space.

Since its inception, the label has put out records for the Dusters (who went on to receive a Grammy nomination for Best Bluegrass Album for their work on A Tribute to Bill Monroe), Midnight North, the Sweet Lillies, Wood Belly, Tyler Grant and Morse - plus select solo releases from members of the Dusters - all in a variety of configurations including digital-only, physical releases and limited edition Record Store Day items.

The idea with this release is to simply offer a retrospective look at the label’s early releases, thematically geared towards having a kick-ass summer. So, while you’ve got your bags packed and festival tickets in-hand, drop this on your next summer adventure.

Jeremy Garrett (a bluegrass fiddler at heart) visits the musical ground on which his career was born with River Wild, his new album out now from Organic Records. Jeremy will be bringing his fiddle science to Denver's Ophelia's this Sunday, June 26 in celebration of his new album. His ever-evolving band will feature Cody Kilby (the Travelin McCourys), Ryan Cavanaugh and local pickers Sam Parks and Denton Turner (Buffalo Commons).

Even with his explorations of the genre’s edges as a member of The Infamous Stringdusters — not to mention the boundary-breaking, technology-enhanced solo recordings and performances on his first two projects for Organic, Circles (2020) and Wanderer’s Compass (2021) — Garrett has always kept his bluegrass tools sharpened and at the ready. Now, his irrepressible creativity and a keen sense of the moment have led him to dig deep into ten years’ worth of his catalog of original songs — and one of the most enviable address books in the business — to create River Wild.

To be sure, this is no ordinary bluegrass album. As the lyric that emerges from the moody, almost ominous opening to the title track (written with bluegrass powerhouse Rick Lang) announces, in the voice of the river, “I got my own mind, I got my own will,” and from that opening number to the virtuosic solo fiddle closer, “Burning The Slash,” Garrett’s powerfully distinctive approach to the genre is on full display. That’s true even when the tune is a pedal-to-the-metal, full-on bluegrass romp like the second track and first single, “What’s That You’re Doin’?” “A fast paced, playful and traditional-sounding bluegrass song,” Garrett calls it, “a fun conversation between two lovers heading towards the goal of ‘getting hitched,’ to use an old time term, and asking what it will take to get the job done. This song was co-written with my friend, Benny (Burle) Galloway, and I love how it stays on the ‘1’ chord for the entire verse — for all of those,” he adds with a laugh, “who may be following along with the Nashville numbering system!”

From there, the set winds through sinuous contemporary instrumentals, original bluegrass songs both mainline and edgy, a signature bit of acoustic pop and even an unexpected — and bravura — tip of Garrett’s hat to the Father of Bluegrass himself. Among the highlights, annotated by the artist:

“Potato Farmer”: “It has been quite some time since I’ve been able to write some instrumental music for a project like this, involving guest musicians. There are several instrumental numbers on this record, but I highlighted this track as one to show off the stellar pickers who joined me: Seth Taylor, an incredible guitar player who I think will be a household name in the guitar world soon, along with the rock solid Barry Bales on bass, Alan Bibey on mandolin and the incredible Ryan Cavanaugh on banjo.”

“In the Blink of an Eye”: “I co-wrote this with Jon Weisberger, and it’s one of my favorite songs that I have helped pen. I love how the melody cries out from the very beginning, and the mix that Scott Barnett put on it sonically is transcending. I think it’s one of those special songs that many people can vibe with. The musicians all played incredibly on all of the tracks for this record, but this one is a stand-out to me. Big fiddle jam at the end as well!”

“In a Song”: “This was the result of a first time co-writing attempt with Josh Shilling, who would become a great friend. We have written many songs together now, and this one hits home for me. It tells a story of an old man who leaves his guitar to a young, up and coming musician. He has one request — to be remembered in a song. As a musician, performer, singer and songwriter, who has virtually committed my life to music, to be remembered in a song that lives on after I leave this world would indeed be a special way to be remembered.”

“Kentucky Waltz”: “This song, of course, is a bluegrass classic, by Bill Monroe. I heard my dad sing this from an early age and have always loved it; it’s a fun one to slow way down and play around with, with some fiddle double stops and going large on the vocals. The rest of the songs on the record are original, but I wanted to pick one classic, and this one stood out to me. I hope you enjoy my rendition.”

“I had it in my heart to do a bluegrass record this time around,” he concludes, “and to call upon some friends to help me record it. I picked some of my favorite songs from my original catalog, and also wrote some specifically for this project. I went as bluegrass as I could, while trying to be true to being original. I poured my life’s blood into these songs and the performance of them, and I was so honored to have this lineup of players and singers to make the songs be all they could be — and then some. This one goes out special to all the fans who have been so supportive of my music endeavors through the years!”

With help from that insightfully chosen group of pickers and singers — Seth Taylor (guitar) and two-time IBMA Mandolin Player of the Year Alan Bibey are the constants — that includes banjoists Ryan Cavanaugh (Bill Evans Soulgrass), Gena Britt (Sister Sadie) and Russ Carson (Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder), bassists Travis Book (Infamous Stringdusters) and Barry Bales (Alison Krauss & Union Station), dobroist Andy Hall of the Stringdusters, as well as bluegrass legend Lou Reid and Mountain Heart’s masterful Josh Shilling on harmony vocals, Jeremy Garrett has delivered a remarkable musical statement. At once a love letter to bluegrass, and a bold assertion of his continued place in it, River Wild is the album that his fans and colleagues alike have been waiting for.

Former Telluride Band Contest winners, Wood Belly, are pleased to release the video for "Angel" off their new album Great Big Skies. The album and video are out now on Americana Vibes. The video may be viewed on the band's YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_zYUdf9pIY

"Angel is a song about hiking the Appalachian trail. It's a grueling journey and everyone needs some help along the way. Luckily there are a number of "trail angels" who love to help hikers out of the goodness of their hearts. It might be a hot meal, a clean bed, a cold beer, or anything else you might need to get you through. It's written about a specific place but it's easy to see how it applies to all of us. If we could all extend a helping hand when we can and ask for help when we need it, our own journey's would be a little lighter."

Wood Belly released its second album, Man on the Radio in January of 2020 capping an impressive stretch of writing and releases. The new 13-track collection was recorded at Swingfingers Studio in Fort Collins, CO with Grammy-winning producer Sally Van Meter and engineer Aaron Youngberg, and features special guest fiddler Jeremy Garrett of The Infamous Stringdusters on several tracks.

Wood Belly is currently on tour in support of Great Big Skies.

"We are so stoked to get back to the west coast. California, Oregon, Washington and Montana have been host to some incredible shows and we've made wonderful friends out there. Now we get to bring our new songs and sound out there and we can't wait for our fans to hear it. It's also an incredible honor to be playing at the final Northwest String Summit. It's been one of the premier festivals in the country for 20 years and it's going to be an all-timer!"

Tour dates include:

July 15 - Sweetwater Music Hall - Mill Valley, CA

July 16 - Hop Dogma Brewery - Half Moon Bay, CA

July 17 - Goldfield Trading Post - Sacramento, CA

July 19 - Nectar Lounge - Seattle, WA

‘Genre-Fluid’ quintet Kendall Street Company has fittingly  announced their second annual Kendall Street Is For Lovers Tour which spans five different cities each week over the course of February. Every Tuesday the band will hit the Milk Parlour in Blacksburg. Wednesdays will feature them performing at The Golden Pony in Harrisonburg. Thursdays the band’s hometown will host them at The Southern. Weekend dates will take place in Hampton Roads and Richmond, with rotating nights at Chicho’s, The Bunker, The Camel, and The Broadberry.

Says the band, “Last year’s lovers tour turned us from boys into men and we hope to do the same this year. Exploratory jams, new fun covers, and both puppy love and old dog love. It’s all there for the taking. Strap in it’s gonna get wild.”

Kendall Street Company has seen themselves rise onto the scene post-pandemic, leaving an impression where it matters. The bands’ mix of instrumentation, sound, powerful vocals, and antics guarantees the fan a new and engaging experience every time. With over 110 shows under their belt in 2022, The Company shows no signs of stopping down. It seems Kendall Street Is For Lovers Tour has begun to be a growing tradition in the state of Virginia, with a much welcomed 20 shows in 28 days to help kick off the new year!

This year the band is once again joined by a number of sponsors who will help bring the spirit of Virginia to all of the scheduled shows. Those include Virago Spirits, Bold Rock Hard Cider, Blue Ridge Seed and Blue Ridge Outdoors. Kendall Street Company will also host a “Drink With The Band” event at Virago Spirits’ space in Richmond on Saturday, January 21 at 6:00PM ET.

Virginia's Kendall Street Company are no strangers to having a wild time. The genre-fluid, eclectic rock ensemble has drawn varied comparisons to the dynamic jams of Umphrey's McGee and Widespread Panic, songwriting prowess of John Prine, experimental psychedelia of Pink Floyd, progressive jazz-infused rock of Frank Zappa, and off-color humor of Ween and They Might Be Giants. Including elements of crowd participation, off-the-cuff comedic bits, haphazard choreography, musical improvisation, and surprise musical guests, each Kendall Street Company concert is an experience unlike any other. You'll laugh, you'll cry. Just remember to stay hydrated.

In addition to their reputation as must-see live performers, the Company's prolific immunity to writer's block has led them to release over over 100 original songs between seven studio albums, two live albums, and four EPs in a period of just six years. 2023 will see the release of (at least) an additional two studio records, a handful of singles, and who knows what else! You can also enjoy a massive selection of live shows on nugs.net, which often include unreleased and improvised tracks, as well as covers ranging from the Grateful Dead to DEVO to Alanis Morisette to Soulja Boy.

Kendall Street Company is: Louis Smith [Rhythm Guitar/Lead Vox], Brian Roy [Bass], Ryan Wood [Drums], Ben Laderberg [Lead Guitar], and Jake Vanaman [Saxophone/Keys]. The five met at the University of Virginia, where they graduated between 2015 and 2020. For such a young band, their accomplishments are commendable. They have performed at festivals including Lockn', Summer Camp, High Sierra, Resonance, Floydfest, Some Kind of Jam, and Rooster Walk. Featured guest musicians at their sets have included Keller Williams, Ron Holloway, Andy Frasco, and Andy Hall. The Company has also shared the stage with Goose, Umphrey's McGee, Papadosio, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Leftover Salmon, the Infamous Stringdusters, Big Something and Melvin Seals & JGB. The outfit draws their name from late-night bonfires at the Kendall Street Beach on the Chesapeake Bay, and the good company who fueled the flames, the jams, and the conversation.

Kendall Street Company, the dynamic jam band sensation, is gearing up to release their latest single, "Mister Funky Daddy," on April 26, 2024, as part of their highly anticipated monthly single release campaign for 2024.

Now that we have gotten those pleasantries out of the way, it is our distinct pleasure to introduce you to the legend: “Mister Funky Daddy.” This man (although this mortal title undermines his true legend status) is surely to raise the roof whenever he shows up to a party. So much that you will be telling stories of ensuing funky madness to your grandkid!

And so it goes….after countless years of conspiring between Kendall Street Company’s guitarist, Ben, and his nine-year-old niece Maddie Mawyer, the band knew the time had come to immortalize “Mister Funky Daddy” with a hit song. I do not think you have heard, or will ever hear anything quite like it. Radio stations and jukeboxes all over the world are already catching on to what’s sure to be the next big funk craze.
