April 2017

Downtown Davenport Partnership (DDP) is excited to announce the inaugural Alternating Currents Festival; the two-day event will take place the weekend of Aug. 25 and 26, replacing River Roots Live.

Multiple Grammy Award winning and Golden Globe nominee Chris Cornell performed three songs over the weekend on CBS This Morning Saturday, including "The Promise" -- a new original song which is featured in new film The Promise starring Academy Award Winning actor Christian Bale and Golden Globe Winning actor Oscar Isaac, in theaters now.

With their extraordinarily epic and artful musical poetry, Maud Geffray and Sébastien Chenut – the two sonic warheads who make up the electronic music group Scratch Massive - have always been able to enrich sensory experience in a way that brings together the fringe and the extremes, the here and there, the past and the future, with a never-disappointing desire to express the blues of the soul and the blues of the world.

After previously announcing headliners Herbie Hancock, Kamasi Washington, Trixie Whitley, Wayne Shorter, Einstürzende Neubauten, and Norah Jones, Gent Jazz Festival released the final names for its sixteenth edition today. The first day of the festival on 6 July is a day of celebration thanks to the arrival of the icon of pop herself and diva par excellence, Grace Jones. GoGo Penguin, Miles Mosley, Kadhja Bonet, and United Vibrations have also confirmed their attendance for the same day.

The Kruger Brothers will release a remarkable new project during MerleFest 2017 and will share the Roan Mountain Suite through a live stream, hosted on Facebook.

Pre-orders are currently active through Elderly Instruments for Blue Night Records’ forthcoming release, Rescue Me! A Cause for Paws. This very special project features some of acoustic music’s most respected and gifted artists who’ve come together on a compilation that supports animal rescue and awareness efforts.
