May 2022

Zero returns to the stage this summer and fall, and that’s very good news for fans of improvisational music.  The list of shows is below.

Celebrated archival reissue label Light in the Attic (LITA) is proud to announce Earl’s Closet: The Lost Archive of Earl McGrath, 1970-1980, a special collection of rare and unheard music from the private collection of a legendary figure of 20th century art and music.

Goose brought another tight performance to the always delightful former tennis stadium turned music venue Westville Music Bowl, in New Haven, CT, despite seemingly ominous skies to kick off the night on May 28th, 2022. The band was on fire night two of the Dripfield tour to promote the upcoming album release with the same name. An almost ethereal Dripfield vibe permeated this show in particular, and radiated love to attendees.

After spending a decade on the road with Spirit Family Reunion, banjo player and singer Maggie Carson is announcing her debut solo album, The Dark Was Aglow, and releasing the first single from the record. The album, recorded in Rockaway Beach before the pandemic hit NYC, is a collaboration between Carson, punk rock producer Matt Walsh, and conceptual artist Or Zubalsky. The first taste of the record can be heard on the new single, “Your Ghost”.

The Beale Street Music Festival returned to Memphis after a nearly three-year pandemic-induced hiatus. One of America's oldest music festivals made its triumphant return marking its 44th anniversary. The three-day event, steeped in the polite mannerisms associated with the region's southern charm and gracious manners, overcame a plethora of obstacles, including those related to the Covid epidemic, logistical problems, and weather issues.
