On December 27, SiriusXM presented The Brian Setzer Orchestra Christmas Rocks! Tour at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. Throughout his career, Setzer's innovative and daring musical styles have single-handedly resurrected two forgotten genres of music (rockabilly in the ‘80's and swing in the '90's).
Genre hopping multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Keller Williams will bring his signature solo looping show to The Caribou Room on February 10. Williams has built a reputation for his dynamic and unpredictable solo performances, where he creates samples on the fly using a special looping effect live on stage, playing both original songs and select covers. Nothing is pre-recorded and no two shows are alike, making for a completely unique experience of sonically infused alt-folk and groovy electronica.
The jamtronica group FloatGoat, from Denver, CO, is announcing the release of their newest single "Scrumpies". Achieving the next level of jamtronica, the group steps into a micro-particle funk portal unlike anything floating goats have ever heard. The roots of this funk portal come from jazz/rock fusion, and more virtuous parts over longer jazz influenced chord progressions. The licks get scrumpadellic in this track, but always expect more improvisation in a live performance.
