Jonathan Scales Fourchestra are thrilled to announce their recent signing with Ropeadope Records. The label, which was founded by John Medeski and specializes in jazz, hip hop, electronic and downtempo music, has embraced the trio whose unconventional use of steel pans has further blurred the lines of contemporary jazz.

I first discovered the Venezuelan dance-pop band Los Amigos Invisibles through their Grammy-winning 2009 album Commercial, which represented a conscious effort to reach out to a wider, more global audience than their previous work had attracted. As I listened through their discography, they quickly became one of my favorite bands.

Wilco, Dave Matthews Band, Widespread Panic, Gov’t Mule and The String Cheese Incident are among a long list of musicians showing support for the non-profit organization HeadCount by offering VIP tickets, autographed merchandise, and some quality time.

From underground rock legends to modern jazz to smooth country pop to reggae, Real Gone Music's July 2 release slate rounds all the musical bases. Often cited as the first band to be influenced by the Velvet Underground, and the subject of countless internet posts and 'zine articles, legendary New York outfit Hackamore Brick enjoys the first-ever reissue of its classic 1970 album One Kiss Leads to Another on LP and CD.

A decade into the formation of Dumpstaphunk, New Orleans' all-star collective will release a new full-length studio album, Dirty Word, on Louisiana Red Hot Records/E1 Distribution on Tuesday, July 30, 2013.
