Coming from the heart of Alabama, BoomBox has announced a two-month tour spanning from the South, Midwest, into the Mountain West and back again. The musical journey into sound and revelation will feature performances at Camp Jam, Asheville's Music Jamboree and an appearance in July at the brand new Rothbury Festival.

Featuring producer-DJ Russ Randolph and singer-songwriter-guitarist Zion Rock Godchaux, BoomBox blends danceable rhythms, hypnotic mixes, and shimmering guitar phrases with an unspoken vibe. The electronic musical duo BoomBox, known for their non-stop dance parties and explosive live shows, will be playing two extraordinary late night New Years 2008 shows in Denver. Recognized as an innovative driving force on the music scene today, the brainchild of DJ / producer Russ Randolph and singer / songwriter / guitarist Zion Rock Godchaux pushes the boundaries of creativity and originality to unmatched heights..

Kicking it all off on Tuesday, December 30th at Owsley's Golden Road, the headline show will feature special guests Melvin Seals and JGB as well as Steve Kimock and Friends opening the night. BoomBox will take to the stage from 1:30am to 4:30am, keeping the party going until the early morning hours. Individual tickets for the first night are available online.

On New Year's Eve, BoomBox moves the party down the road to the Crown Plaza Hotel in the heart of downtown Denver. Hosting their very own late night NYE show destined to be another all night extravaganza, festivities will begin immediately following the Widespread Panic show. The extended BoomBox set will feature an appearance by the Everyone Orchestra and will no doubt feature several other surprise guests converging upon the Mile High City for the special night. Expect the likes of Melvin Seals, Steve Kimock and members of Hot Buttered Rum as BoomBox jams into the early morning.

Singer/songwriter Pete Francis is kicking off 2009 with a full slate of late winter and early spring dates throughout the Northeast and Midwest. Blending an energetic and uplifting live experience with sincere and heartfelt songwriting, Francis has showcased his signature style in sold out auditoriums and intimate clubs across the country. For this tour, Francis has joined forces with up-and-coming New England based roots rock outfit Barefoot Truth. With both artists jamming collectively as one band on Pete Francis, Dispatch, and Barefoot Truth material, the shows will offer surprising twists and unique takes on each artist's compositions.

Staying true to his indie roots, the former Dispatch songwriter blends sonic elements of folk, jam, rock and pop with visual elements of art and poetry. Francis pushes the boundaries of creativity, composing inspiring lyrical lines and melodies over layers of strings, brass, keys and rhythms, while the multi-instrumented Barefoot Truth delivers organic, feel-good compositions and feverish live performances. Still in their early twenties, Barefoot Truth has emerged as one of the fastest growing bands on the east coast. They spent the fall touring behind their election-themed single All Good Reasons and were asked to play the Obama campaign official pre-debate rally in New York; it's not often a band of 20-somethings without a label perform on a main stage sandwiched between sets by Bruce Hornsby and Crosby & Nash.

Part singer-songwriter, part foot-stomping backbeat, and part old-time rock and roll, the Pete Francis/Barefoot Truth collaboration is one that has been in the works for quite some time. Francis produced Barefoot Truth's 2006 release The Clubhouse Sessions with longtime Dispatch producer Jack Gauthier, and has joined the band on stage at multiple performances over the last 18 months. Francis, Barefoot Truth and Gauthier will team up again this winter for another EP set for release alongside the tour.

The tour will begin with a show on February 19th at The Station in Portland, ME, followed by a run winding through all parts of the northeast with stops in MA, VT, NH, NY, NJ, PA, MD and VA. The tour will conclude in April with two Illinois shows, including a stop at the famous Beat Kitchen in Chicago.

Two SONIC BLOOM Festival Pre-Parties set for Boulder and Denver will give fans a lot to dream about in the two months leading up to the actual festival, where the magic of music, dance, art and human performance will meld into a three-day never-world of electronic music and camping. The first installment of this year’s festivities will descend on the Fox Theatre April 24, with the party moving south to legendary Cervante’s Masterpiece Ballroom the next day. This epic weekend will have fans itching to pack up their camping gear and bottle their good vibes for Colorado’s premier electronic festival, set for June 26 through June 28 in the Colorado Front Range.

Four of the acts slated to rage the stages of SONIC BLOOM will gear up and head to Boulder, where fans can expect a taste test of the festival’s improvisational electronic music on night one of the pre-party. Led by the quirky, psychedelic beats of VibeSquaD (Aaron Holstein), the bill continues with the rhythmic, electro-acoustic flavorings of LYNX & Janover, made up of famed hammered dulcimer player Jamie Janover and hip-hop and folk-inspired singer LYNX. Also on tab is the ancient/modern styling of Beats Antique, a collage of Middle Eastern traditions, glitch, dubstep, hip-hop and breakbeat. Not to be left off the tab is the big-hitting and bass-heavy glitch hop of S.P.E.C.T.R.E. Special guest appearances are guaranteed, making for a special night.

Night one’s huge energy will be felt in the line outside the doors of Cervante’s Masterpiece Ballroom the next day, Saturday, as Beats Antique yet again joins with LYNX & Janover for another big night. Added to day two is electronic sensation Ana Sia, the grungy dubstep, glitch meets psy-hop act all the way from San Francisco, also billed for the SONIC BLOOM festival. Joining Ana Sia from San Francisco is Mimosa, a beat brew shiny and warm, yet hip-hop at the core like the classics of Too Short and Dr. Dre. Future Simple Project rounds out the night, a dubstep and breakbeat act known for dropping bass bombs.

The SONIC BLOOM 2009 lineup is taking shape, with confirmed acts such as EOTO + Kang + Kyle (all of The String Cheese Incident). Lest we forget ZILLA, the host of the festival made of up of Janover, Holstein and Michael Travis of EOTO and The String Cheese Incident. This marks the fourth year of the festival, and with included acts such as Tipper, Random Rab, David Starfire, Ana Sia, BoomBox, Savoy, Heyoka and more to be named very soon, this year will certainly expand upon the past festivals.

Fans that did not score tickets to Phish at Red Rocks Amphitheatre should worry not; there just happens to be a four-day camping and music festival a few short miles away on a private ranch. For those that did score tickets, The Phamily Reunion Festival offers what Red Rocks cannot: camping and a safe ride to and from the festival to each Phish show. Set for July 30 through August 2 on the beautiful Van Eden Ranch in Idaho Springs, the good souls that love Phish, live music, camping, hiking, biking, hot springs and much more, will come together for a special string of days, all set to the good vibes of the Colorado Rockies.

With an already heavy-hitting lineup including The New Mastersounds, EOTO, The Heavy Pets, Juno What?!, LYNX & Janover, Ana Sia, YAMN and others, the festival promises to be big enough to stand on its own without Phish coming to town. With rumors surfacing after the 1996 Phish shows at Red Rocks about the band being banned because of an infiltration of campers in Morrison, CO, The Phamily Reunion is the perfect spot for one of the most coveted aspects of a Phish tour: community. And who knows, campers may just score the ticket they were looking for on the grounds of the ranch.

With four-day event passes available and buses running back and forth all day from the campgrounds to Red Rocks, it’s the ultimate and safest option. Add to that the chance to fish, hike, whitewater raft, gamble, soak in the hot springs, and horseback ride, The Phamily Reunion makes for perhaps the best all-around experience for both Coloradans and those visiting. Before heading to the lot at Red Rocks, campers can get their dancing feet warmed up to live music, only to be treated to late-night DJs and bands from Colorado and coast-to-coast.

Headlining the festival are The New Mastersounds, a funk, soul, jazz and rock quartet hailing from across the pond in England. It’s a true privilege to have such a pioneering act in the “new funk” movement in the Front Range of Colorado. From Colorado are slated both EOTO and Juno What?!, the former being a cutting-edge electro/improvisational duo, comprised of the rhythm section of The String Cheese Incident. Likewise, Juno What?! is a new project to come of the highly touted Colorado group The Motet, which has a passionate fan base in and around Colorado. Juno What?! brings back the eighties with a new look, combining fresh funk with quasi-disco undertones. The Heavy Pets are one of the hottest, up-and-coming jam bands on the circuit, all the way from Florida. Ana Sia is a psychedelic hip-hop DJ from San Francisco that drops huge beats, while the hip-hop, beat-boxing and innovative percussion of LYNX & Janover are not to be forgotten. More artists are to be announced, so stay tuned.

There is no better way to celebrate the country’s independence and the spirit of Colorado than a day of fun and festivities in the Colorado Rockies. For the first time ever, music, parade, food and fireworks will meet in a family environment at the Peak to Peak Music Festival in Nederland, CO, on the Fourth of July. With a long-standing musical heritage and Fourth of July festivities already in place, Nederland is the perfect mountain town for both young and old to celebrate the holiday.

Fireworks and a parade have long been traditions for the holiday in Nederland, but with a full music lineup and a pub crawl added, a new era has begun in the beautiful Peak to Peak region. To celebrate the region’s storied musical history and support such rich local talent, the festival has invited state favorites, including Motorhome, Elephant Revival, Smooth Money Gesture and Jon “BlackDog” Ridnell. Others not from Colorado include Zepparella, Chicago Afro-Beat Project, from Illinois, and Shannon Wurst, from Arkansas. Not limited to music, the work of local artists will be on display and local food and beverages served, making for a fully rounded and family-oriented event.

The festivities kick off at 11 a.m. when lineup for the parade begins at the Jeff Guercio Memorial Ballfield. Those familiar with the parades of past know to expect the unexpected, meaning the parade should be full of surprises and could make one lap, maybe more. By the time the free-to-the-public parade ends, it should be about time for the scheduled 12:30 p.m. opening of the festival gates, where Old Time Dave, the Master of Ceremonies, will call for the first strum of the guitar at 1 p.m.

Chicago Afrobeat Project kicks off the day with their own take on the Afrobeat genre, blending funk, rock,  jazz, afro-cuban, high life and juju music into a collage that is irresistible to dancing. Next on the bill is the all-female Zepparella, a California-based Led Zeppelin Tribute band making their Nederland debut and exemplifying beauty, passion, aggression and the musical prowess of the legendary band they salute. Headlining the daytime bill is Motorhome, hailing from Fort Collins and recently named by Colorado Music Buzz as one of the top bands to look out for in 2009.

As the sun falls on the horizon of the Peak to Peak region, fireworks will be prepped for launch into the crisp air above Baker Reservoir in Nederland, and music will begin in the streets. The music doesn’t stop there, with Nederland’s own Elephant Revival playing sets in between acts during the day, then taking their high-energy gypsy and mystic folk jams to Whistler’s Café that night. As the pub crawl continues on into the night, festival-goers can head a few blocks away to catch Smooth Money Gesture at First Street Pub and Grill, which was named by The Mountain-Ear as the “best place to get down.” The music will just keep going on into the night and more information on the schedule will be made available on the festival Web site.

Maceo Parker: his name is synonymous with Funky Music, his pedigree impeccable; his band: the tightest little funk orchestra on earth.

Everyone knows by now that he’s played with each and every leader of funk, his start with James Brown, which Maceo describes as "like being at University"; jumping aboard the Mothership with George Clinton; stretching out with Bootsy’s Rubber Band. He’s the living, breathing pulse which connects the history of Funk in one golden thread. The cipher which unravels dance music down to its core.

“Everything’s coming up Maceo,” concluded DownBeat Magazine in a 1991 article at the beginning of Maceo Parker’s solo career. At the time Maceo was a remembered by aficionados of funk music as sideman; appreciated mainly by those in the know. More than a decade and a half later Maceo Parker has been enjoying a blistering solo career. For the past sixteen years Maceo has been building a new funk empire, fresh and stylistically diverse. He navigates deftly between James Brown’s 1960’s soul and George Clinton’s 1970’s freaky funk while exploring mellower jazz and the grooves of hip-hop.

His collaborations over the years performing or recording or both have included Ray Charles, Ani Difranco, James Taylor, De La Soul, Dave Matthews Band and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. His timeless sound has garnered him a fresh young fan base. It is almost impossible to separate which came first, Maceo or the funk. The amazing P-funk Parker has been at it with his legendary alto horn for some time dating back to the 1960’s. That’s when Maceo and his drummer brother Melvin climbed on board the James Brown funky soul funk train. It wasn’t long before James coined the solo summoning signature, “ Maceo, I want you to Blow!” . To most musicologists it’s the muscially fertile group of men from this period of James Brown’s band who are recognized as the early pioneers of the modern funk and hip-hop we still jump to today.

Electric Avenue Music and Arts Festival has just announced a Late Night All Star Jam featuring Kyle Hollingsworth and Michael Kang of SCI along with Speech of Arrested Development, Dominic Lalli of Big Gigantic and many others from this historic downtown event (Additional $15).

The Electric Avenue Festival, which is slated to take place over Labor Day weekend on the streets of Historic Five Points in Downtown Denver, has just announced their two-day schedule. The event will highlight over 22 live bands on two stages, arts and crafts vendors, outdoor beer and liquor tents as well as food booths representing the best in Colorado eatery. And, at a price of only $65 for a two-day pass or $130 for a two-day VIP Pass, it may be the most exciting and definitely the most affordable event in Colorado for music goers over the holiday.

Consummate road dogs EOTO just announced a jam-packed fall tour with headlining dates spanning both coasts before topping off a wildly successful 2010. The 30+ day tour will kick off on September 21st featuring 11 dates with DJ's MiMOSA and MartyParty on the west coast and then beginning in October the duo will fly solo in the Mid-West before heading east for the remainder of the winter.

Throbbing bass and thudding beats are the signatures of this project from drummers Michael Travis and Jason Hann. Born out of their shared love of electronic dance music, EOTO's M.O. is to take the free-wheeling party vibe of a DJ set to the next level by using organic instruments, innovative performance technology, and uncharted musical exploration. Live drums, guitars, and keys, and vocals are mixed, remixed, and sampled on the fly using cutting-edge programs. This is all done without a script, and without a net.

Hann plays a hyper EQ'd drumkit, chock full of multi-touch screens and MIDI controllers, and throws a number of effects on his otherworldly vocal styles. Travis takes on subsonic frequencies, generating the band's crushing low end with analog, digital, and software synthesizers, occasionally picking up guitar or a bass guitar and showing off his proficiency with instruments of all shapes and sizes.

Hann, has been playing percussion professionally since the age of 12. Years of collaborating, touring, and recording with the likes of Youssou N'Dour, Isaac Hayes, Dr. Dre, Loreena McKinnett, SCI, and a slew of other established artists running the gamut from Latin jazz to R 'n' B and soul allows him to move fluidly between styles. Adding to this is his depth in African and Latin drumming traditions, allowing the futuristic EOTO sound to keep itself rooted in the past.

For the last 16 years, Travis has been the drumming octopus in SCI. He morphs roles to melodic multi-instrumentalist in EOTO, providing the raw basslines and harmonic tapestry that fill out the soundscape of the duo. Both Hann and Travis have the chops and stamina for physically demanding, EOTO improvised sets, which have been known to go upwards of 4 straight hours.

"When we're playing live for 3 hours a night, it's like playing tribal drums in a ceremony," Hann explains. "I'm looking at one person at a time out there, and thinking "what can I do to make you dance?"

Hann and Travis play almost 200 shows a year, together, EOTO has played more than seven hundred unique showcases in 48 different states in the five years since the project's inception. Each set is recorded and released so fans can capture their unique EOTO dance throwdown, reliving the experience again and again.

SONIC BLOOM has announced the final line-up for the 2011 festival including 2 full stages of music and a satellite DJ booth highlighting over 75 of the nation’s best nationally touring and up-and-coming electronic performers. For the last six years the boutique festival has served as a launchpad for some of the most successful electronic artists on the scene including Pretty Lights, Bassnectar, the Glitch Mob and consummate tour dogs, EOTO.  The event, scheduled to take place for three days between June 24-26^th will feature yet another stellar line-up including festival regulars EOTO, the highly sought TIPPER SOUND EXPERIENCE and one of the pioneers of Dubstep; Mala from London.

In less than two weeks SONIC BLOOM 2011 will commence in the gorgeous Rocky Mountains just 40 minutes west of Denver in the outskirts of the historical mining town, Georgetown, CO. The annual event, now in its 6th year, culminates nightly with a myriad of visual performers including aerialists, fire dancers and stilt walkers as well as live painters, artisans and vending booths featuring a hand selection of unusual crafts and fashion geared to serve the natural health communities. For festival goers looking to take advantage of the beautiful surroundings, the new SONIC BLOOM campsite has on-site shaded camping next to Clear Creek, fire-pit areas and even river rafting expeditions offered daily through Mile Hi Rafting. The folks from the Basics Fund are also offering discounted party bus options for riders coming from Fort Collins, Boulder and Denver as a safe alternative to driving.

Grab your tents, costumes and dancing shoes, because Railroad Earth, in conjunction with Pet Projekt, has put together a three-night Halloween Weekend extravaganza in Placerville, CA for the inaugural Hangtown Halloween Ball! The glam-camping event will take place at the beautiful El Dorado County Fairgrounds on October 28^th- 30^th and will feature a stellar line-up of some of the nation’s hottest touring acts, along with two complete sets of Railroad Earth to close Saturday and Sunday evening!

Set to take place at the gateway of the High Sierras, the location boasts more than just breathtaking views. The El Dorado County Fairgrounds is just a 2 hour hop from San Francisco, an hour from Tahoe and just 45 minutes from Sacramento, in the Gold Rush town of Placerville, CA --- the perfect late fall destination area. Known for a balmy harvest season; the area boasts 77 degree highs, while the rest of the country is battening down the hatches for a cold winter ahead. 

“We have a remarkable site. The main stage area is set within an expansive natural amphitheater while the indoor late night hall, located just 100 yards away, is a 2100 person venue with plenty of room for dancing. We’re also offering multiple camping options including a really cool VIP zone set back from the main venue area in an open grassy field with perfectly clear stage site lines.” states Ryan Kronenberg from Pet Projekt. “There will also be flushing toilets and hot running showers for both VIP and regular camping.”

The Halloween celebration will feature an all-star line-up including two nights with Railroad Earth along with The Funky Meters, Jackie Greene, 7 Walkers, David Grisman Sextet, Zach Deputy, Melvin Seals and JGB, Elephant Revival, Poor Man’s Whiskey, Head For the Hills, the Dead Winter Carpenters and many more spanning the two-day festival.

Railroad Earth is known best for their fire-in-the-belly Roots and Americana music. With their 2011 Sonic Bloom appearance, the two-headed bass juggernaut EOTO has officially hit the 5 year mark. What began, half a decade ago, as a late-night, after-party experimental electronic project has evolved into a full-fledged headlining behemoth. The drummer-producer team of Jason Hann and Michael Travis has pioneered the art of live dubstep, not only bringing the big, brash, bass-heavy EDM movement to the concert setting, but crafting it on stage and on the spot more than a hundred times a year. The only proper way to honor this milestone is with a monster fall tour, and EOTO’s doing just that.

Almost 40 dates are planned for the rest of September and the entire month of October. The duo will close out festival season with Wonk Fest in Bellingham, WA, Blackwater Music Festival in Live Oak, FL, and Earthdance in Vallejo, CA. The end of September brings a 3-date run with Bassnectar in the Midwest, and the tour will culminate with EOTO’s annual Halloween bash in Lawrence, KS. Along the way, fans can catch shows in Montana, Michigan, Massachusetts, Maine, and many more. New technology is constantly being thrown into rotation, and the continued collaboration with a full-time, touring VJ is elevating the already explosive live show to a whole new level.

The 2011 earthquake and subsequent tsunami hit a devastating blow to the Japanese community. With the help of Grammy-winning producer Scott Jacoby-- Zach Deputies new album taps into the spirit of Al Green, Taj Mahal and Stevie Wonder while retaining a classic sound and feel. Best described as soulful rhythm and blues, Another Day features 11 original tracks produced with Grammy award winning Scott Jacoby over just 5 days in Mission Sound Recording in Brooklyn, NY. To handle the ever-present Latin, Caribbean and African elements in Zach Deputy's backbeat and place them in the contemporary soul / pop format of the songs, Jacoby tapped Graham Hawthorne (Aretha Franklin, Harry Belafonte, Paul Simon, David Byrne) for the drum kit. Bassist Al Carty came into the studio after having played four church gigs that day. Despite the list of artists he has recorded or toured with (Lou Reed, De La Soul, Carrie Underwood, Gavin DeGraw), the church gigs alone proved that Jacoby was on the mark with this choice for the low end. Zach Deputy is, after all, a soul singer whose music is underpinned by Gospel as much as by any other musical idiom. Blue Light City-- the third full length studio recording from psychedelic rock band Turbine debuted at #3 in the Relix / Homegrown Music radio charts and has raised the bar for the band and—possibly, in terms of studio recordings, for the broader jam rock community as a whole. Produced by Grammy-winner John Davis (The Black Keys), Blue Light City evokes the smart groove-pop of '80’s bands like INXS and XTC, the psychedelic rock of Flaming Lips and Pink Floyd, the soul-rock of Jimi Hendrix’s Band of Gypsies, aspects of prog-rock pioneers Yes and King Crimson and even elements of late 70's era Grateful Dead, in one strangely cohesive record.

The overarching sonic identity of this New York City-based quartet was forged over the last five years, starting when it was a tenacious duo comprised of guitarist / singer and primary songwriter Jeremy Hilliard and harmonicist / rhythm guitarist / singer-songwriter Ryan Rightmire. As a duo, Turbine developed their unique brand of songwriting that was sophisticated, experimental and emotionally direct, yet accessible and danceable. After a few years of this, they realized they needed a rhythm section, brought on bassist Justin Kimmel and drummer Octavio Salman, and began the arduous process of redefining their sound and rebuilding their fanbase, despite having already performed at prestigious festivals like Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Bonnaroo, Gathering of the Vibes, Wakarusa and 10,000 Lakes Festival. With the rhythm section, Rightmire was able to realize his futuristic vision for the harmonica, which he plays with a neck sling, all the while playing guitar and singing harmonies and leads. Effects and technology have transformed his instrument’s traditional role: the keyboards, turntablism, strings and other odd sounds that the compositions call for are delivered by this Hohner-endorsed pioneer of the harp’s future.

It is common for people stumbling into a Turbine show to be amazed by the spectacle of Rightmire, but as they start to absorb what is going on around them, listeners quickly start to appreciate the passion and intelligence of Hilliard’s vocals and lyrics, then find themselves impressed with his intense, fiery guitar work. Underpinning all of  this, Kimmel's bass lines help define and punctuate the music, setting-up and pushing grooves forward, driving the bus from the low end in typical prog-rock fashion, while leaving enough room for the nuance of the song structures and the dynamics of Salman’s percussive backbeat to shine through. One realizes that this is a real band with real songs and something to say, all delivered in complex and intricately arranged songs that manage to still be accessible and danceable. This band delivers live and in the studio, and they are starting to make their mark on their scene.

Dead Winter Carpenters get a kick start to the New Year with the announcement of their forthcoming sophomore studio release and winter west coast tour. With stops scheduled throughout California, Nevada and Arizona, the band will debut a number of new unreleased tunes before settling into the studio to record their first ever fan-funded album, yet to be named.

2011 has been a big year for the Tahoe based Dead Winter Carpenters; the five-piece roots rock band has climbed from bar band to nationally touring act with little hesitation. Since their inception in March of 2010 the band has already logged a number of cameo appearances at some of the nation’s top boutique festivals along with notching more than just a couple sold-out shows on their collective bedpost. With an unbridled spirit, and an authentic approach to the art of songwriting, Dead Winter Carpenters capture the freedom of the road with the kind of energy that is made of legends.

The band combines four parts of equal creative force including Jenni Charles (fiddle/vocals), Jesse Dunn (guitar/vocals), Dave Lockhart( upright bass) and Sean Duerr (guitar/vocals) for what is quickly becoming a recognizable name on the independent music circuit, due in part to their rancorous live performances. 

While word is spreading about the band’s off-the-hook, slam-that-shot-of-whiskey live shows, the band is also budgeting time to get back into the studio. After releasing a self-titled debut album last year, Dead Winter Carpenters are planning to record all new material this January, with a little funding help from their fans and the web-based campaign builder Kickstarter.  Known as an online pledge system for funding creative projects, Kickstarter has helped fund a diverse array of endeavors, ranging from indie film and music to journalism, solar energy technology and even food-related projects.

The band has set their sights on a lofty $12,000 goal through their own Kickstarter pledge drive which will cover the costs of producing a high-quality release complete with a personalized ‘thank you’ in the liner notes to large donor fans. Or for the uber fan, there is even a chance to shave Lockhart’s beard on stage if you’re willing donate $8,000 or more. While it might be a while before Lockhart has to lose his beard, the band has already raised over $2,000 in the first days of the campaign launch.

America’s only all improvised live electronica and dubstep duo, EOTO, will close out the year with a weekend packed with two incredible mid-west New Year’s shows. This tenacious band now looks to the future in celebration, bringing their legendary jazz-rock-electric vibe.  On Saturday, Jan 21st, ZERO and special guests play Wavy Gravy's SEVA benefit at the Sebastopol Community Center, which also includes the David Nelson Band.ZERO, a psychedelic rock ensemble formed by Steve Kimock and Greg Anton in 1984, is best known for its free flowing jazz-rock-electric sound. For the next two decades the project would feature some of the best talent on the Bay Area circuit including legendary guitarist John Cipollina, Martin Fierro, Nicky Hopkins, Bobby Vega, Pete Sears, Liam Hanrahan, Chip Roland, and many more. In 1991 Zero's collaboration with Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter & the addition of lead vocalist Judge Murphy, brought a new dimension to the ZERO sound. ZERO released eight highly-acclaimed albums, hundreds of live recordings, and occasionally appear out of nowhere in select continental cities. The band reunited in 2008 to honor the memory of saxophonist Martin Fierro, who passed away earlier that year, leaving a great hole in the musical community.

Railroad Earth comes blazing into 2012 after a string of sold out New Year’s performances in Denver, CO. The band will be kicking off a full spring tour beginning late-January, with stops throughout the Southeast, Midwest and all along the East Coast, before heading to the Pacific Coast in early March. With key dates booked in Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, New York City, Seattle, Portland and San Francisco, the band known best for their soaring improvisation and impeccable song writing skills will be making waves every step of the way.

Zach Deputy is hitting the road this spring with a full band in tow, allowing the singer-songwriter to demonstrate his front man-guitarist skills in a new dynamic and full flavored setting. The tour-- the debut of Zach Deputy Band-- kicks off in Statesboro, GA, then blankets Florida with a stop in Mobile, AL before heading North for performances in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New York, Maine, Rhode Island and Vermont.

The full band setting is a big contrast to Deputy's "one man band" looping show that has made him a staple of the club circuit and festival scene throughout North America. In this more organic context, Deputy's songs-- soulful, island-tinged R&B with elements of blues and funk throughout-- will have a chance to reveal themselves and take center stage, no longer subject to the restrictions of the looping process. Likewise, Zach himself will will not be hidden behind an array of electronics and microphones.

Standing nearly six and a half feet tall with a striking red beard and a broad infectious smile, Deputy is truly a sight to see. He is a mountain who commands the stage and could easily play stunt double for Paul Bunyon... but in this case, Deputy wields a different kind of axe. His remarkable guitar playing is sometimes overlooked when he is playing the nylon stringed guitar that generates all of the sounds in his loop show, but with the electric strapped on, Deputy's shredding electric chops have earned him guest sit-in spots with artists ranging from Karl Denson's Tiny Universe and The New Mastersounds to Ivan Neville's Dumpstahfunk, Umphrey's McGee and moe.

It isn't even the guitar playing, the songs or the stage presence that grab most people's attention, however--  it is Deputy's singing. A true soul singer, Deputy's voice takes the listener back to a time before Stax and Motown, when the best music came piping out of back alley blue light districts, in the heat of a southern night. Today, as he embarks on the band tour, the South Carolina native is getting back back to his roots, recalling a time when the Calypso rhythms and folk songs of St. Croix competed for space on the family stereo with R&B / soul pioneers like James Brown and Ray Charles. Supported by a rhythm guitarist, bass, keyboards, sax, drums and auxiliary percussion, the Zach Deputy Band is a new look for Deputy and reflects the fuller sound of his latest record, Another Day (Eusonia, 2011), but unlike the introspective, quieter mood of the recording, Zach Deputy Band's goal is to bring the dance party to the night clubs they visit.

EOTO will kick off their spring ‘Bass Invaders Tour' this March with a bang. The dynamic duo will hit the road with a fully immersive 17 foot lotus flower stage design and custom 3D-mapped projections, built to completely envelop the duo in a visual odyssey, as they slice and dice their way through their 100% live improvisation show. The tour will launch in Philadelphia on March 31st and will travel throughout the southeast and east coast with a number of festival stops along the way. On February 22nd, the duo will also be releasing the fourth installment of their live tour compilation, K-Turns & U-Turns Vol. 4 ---  a wildly celebrated album, the annual release features their best recorded tracks from 2011.

Throbbing bass and thudding beats are the signatures of this project from multi-instrumentalist Michael Travis and drummer/vocalist Jason Hann. Born out of their shared love of electronic dance music, EOTO’s M.O. is to take the free-wheeling party vibe of a DJ set to the next level by using organic instruments, innovative performance technology, and uncharted musical exploration. Quintessential guitarist Steve Kimock is hitting the road this spring with stops already scheduled for Connecticut, New York, Maine, Vermont, Ohio, Illinois, Missouri, Indiana, Tennessee and Atlanta. For the first large-scale tour in almost three years, he will be bringing  Bernie Worrell (founding member of Parliament Funkadelic, Talking Heads) on keys, drummer Wally Ingram (Sheryl Crow, David Lindley), and bassists Andy Hess and Reed Mathis along for the ride. The band, which has already performed in key cities, will be launching new material as well as celebrating Kimock's rich catalog of music over 30 years in the making.

On September 14th, Railroad Earth and Umphrey's McGee will join forces for a co-headline performance at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, CO! This will mark the first time the bands have done a show together and there is a lot of excitement coming from both camps, as well as from each of their respective fanbases.

In addition, the Red Rocks show will be bookended by each band's own shows at the Boulder Theater in Boulder, CO. On Thursday, September 13th (the night before Red Rocks), Railroad Earth will do 'an evening with' at the theater, and then Umphrey's McGee will do their own show at the Theater on Saturday, September 15th (the night after Red Rocks).

Tickets for the Boulder Theater shows are available only as part of a 'bundle' with the purchase of a Red Rocks ticket. Fans will need to purchase a ticket for either the Umphrey's McGee or Railroad Earth Boulder Theater shows at the time of purchase for the Red Rocks show. But don't worry: Three day passes will also be available for both Boulder Theater shows with a Red Rocks ticket!

Railroad Earth embarks on their journey into the festival season following a wildly successful Spring Tour that reached both coasts and left a trail of venue sell-outs in its wake.  After a month long break, the band returns for a summer of performances, including: Mighty High Mountain Fest, DelFest, Wakarusa, High Sierra Music Festival, All Good Festival, Peach Fest (Allman Bros Festival) and Frendly Gathering; then topped off by their new partnership with Boone, NC’s Music on a Mountaintop, which will now bear the Railroad Earth name.

Railroad Earth will then close-out their summer with a climactic co-headline performance at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater with their friends in Umphrey’s McGee. And to top this off, each band will appear for its own special evening at the Boulder Theater, which will bookend their Red Rocks performance. Railroad Earth goes first, on Thursday, Sept 13th and Umphrey’s McGee follows on the 15th!

Known for remarkable songs and lyrics, tight improvisation and inspired jams, Railroad Earth is able to draw from a myriad of styles and genres to create a kind of music that is uniquely their own and often difficult to categorize. The group skates the edge of traditional bluegrass and the jam band tradition to produce an eclectic blend of folk, Celtic, jazz, and rock filtered through a bluegrass lens. Their broad musical arsenal includes the stroke of a violin’s bow, the mandolin, guitar, banjo, dobro, mandolin, flute, pennywhistle, drums, electric and stand-up bass, as well as the clarinet and saxophone to round out the edges. 

But with Railroad Earth, it’s more than just the music. The band is known for bringing a community experience that is marked by 10 years together on the road. Rolling off the success of the BASS INVADERS tour, EOTO has released dates outlining summer dates and their extensive festival season.  Kicking the tour into gear in late March, Travis and Hann have wowed audiences from Colorado to Georgia with their incredible new 3D Lotus Flower stage design and the heavy hitting live dubstep they have become know for.  This summer, the duo will continue to feed not only your bass thirsty ears but will throw your entire life into an electrical overload.
 
Live, improvisational, soul-shattering psy-dub is the name of the game with Michael Travis and Jason Hann.  With nearly six years and hundreds of shows behind them, the pair continuously reinforces why they are still on the top of the electronic music scene and combines elements of many different genres and morphing them into a sound that is solely EOTO.  One of the first acts to utilize the sound and ability of a live drummer, vocal loops and crisp acoustic drumming from Hann punctuate Travis’ vast array of bass, synth, and guitar, driving the duo ever deeper into the dark.

Traveling with the band is their entirely new and fully immersive 17 foot Lotus Flower stage, designed by the infamous VJ, Zebbler.  HD video, custom 3D texture mapping, and endless lighting options envelop the duo as they take audiences on an audiovisual odyssey.  To Hann, “…the lotus is this space ship that we’re about to take off with and journey into other worlds.”  Different layers of petals and screens work together to create an overall illusion of motion and flow while each petal can be controlled individually to highlight a certain aspect of the performance.

Hammering out over 150 performances a year, EOTO has already dropped over thirty bass crushing shows in just over a month, sharing the stage with special guests Kraddy and Shpongle.  The BASS INVADERS tour will give way to the project’s jam-packed festival season, moving across the country for performances at Wakarusa, Mountain Jam, Impulse Music Festival, Electric Forest, Horning’s Hideout, Infrasound, Summer Meltdown, Electric Zoo, Catskill Chill, and the Werk Out Festival.  The duo is also excited to announce special events at the Mishawaka Amphitheatre in Bellvue, CO, the State Bridge Lodge, in Bond CO, and the first ever EOTO appearance at Red Rocks Amphitheatre with Lotus and Emancipator on September 8^th.

EOTO just announced the first leg of their 2012 fall tour after a huge festival season packed with headlining performances at some of the nation’s hottest summer events.  The duo known best for their 100% all improvised performances, and their newly fashioned 3D Lotus Stage production, will be kicking off their fall tour this October in Arcata, CA with stops all along the pacific coast before heading east for theater performances throughout the Midwest.

What exactly does 100% improvised mean? For EOTO it means creating each track from the bottom up with organic instrumentation (guitars, synths, drums bass and vocals) and digital DJ technology to produce each song live before your eyes. Dig out your disco pants and grab your dancing shoes, Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band is hitting the road this fall armed with a slew of national tour dates and a new album, Re-Doing it Hard, set for release on September 18^th, 2012. The six-piece powerhouse will kick off their fall tour on September 12^th in Charleston, SC with stops throughout the southeast before making their way to the west coast in late September. Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band has been blowing the doors off packed clubs and large theaters alike with their unique brand of Nu-Funk music. Known for a fusion of ol' school Funk, Hip Hop, Electronic music and a little rock and roll, the band is making large strides in 2012.

Performing well over 150 shows a year, and celebrating 10 years as a cohesive touring machine, ‘The Booty Band’ is set to release their fifth album on September 18^th. Denver’s Fillmore is in store for a psy-dub-bass showdown this Holiday season, as perennial electronic favorites EOTO take the stage on December 8th with VibeSquad and NiT GriT. Known for their 100% live improvised performances, EOTO has been carving out their niche as an electronic dubstep dance duo, interweaving live instrumentation, for a unique musical experience night after night.
